Story
Hi, I'm Bernard! I am a older boxer mix! I am super friendly and social towards my shelter humans. I love larger dogs, but some smaller dogs make me nervous. I know most commands and will show you for a treat. I am a big boy but like to be lazy and lay around.

Story
Miss Gracie is a happy lady looking for a home to call her own. Despite being a middle aged girl she still has some energy left and would greatly appreciate an outlet for her zoomies before she's ready to snuggle up with you. She is a big fan of toys and loves a good game of tug. She is an instant lover and warms up to people quickly, and is quite the cuddle-bug once you're her friend. Gracie loves her people so much that she would prefer to be the only pet in the home. If you are interested in meeting Gracie, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Looking for somebody to keep you active? Meet Richard! Richard is a very typical young boxer, he is go go go and will need an active family to keep him busy. Unfortunately Richard has not been doing well here in the shelter environment and is is struggling to maintain a healthy weight, but he should bounce right back once he's settled in at home! He is a rough player and would do best with older children. He loves other dogs but because of his rough Boxer playstyle he will need a doggy playmate who is equally tolerant of his puppy antics. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Richard home. If you are interested in meeting with Richard, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Gypsy is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gypsy is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She is normally good around small dogs but occasionally mistakes one for a toy when she is over-excited. So she is not recommended for homes with small dogs. She is not too fond of puppies getting in her face either. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She could perhaps use more obedience training with someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved family member, and she needs a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited and we now know that comes from the Boxer in her. Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Columbus, Cincinnati, or Akron Ohio. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
Penny is an adorable 6 year old, 62 lb. Boxer / Hound mix rescue. We adopted her as a puppy from Pets Without Parents in Columbus, OH. She loves her humans very much and is always excited to greet them and cuddle. She is high energy and enjoys running, taking walks, trips to the park and playing fetch. She does not like loud noises, car rides or being alone for long periods of time. Because of her high energy, she would do best in a home with yard allowing her room to run. We will be sad to see Penny go. We love her very much and she's been a wonderful addition to our family. It has become necessary to rehome her only because of changes in our family structure. She deserves better than we can give her right now. She is in good health and will make a wonderful, loving companion for years to come.

Story
1 yr old male boxer that needs rehomed. Walks good on a leash, though he is easily distracted with other dogs around. He is the only dog in the home but I believe he will do best in a house with other dogs. I’m not sure of his behavior around smaller children. I wouldn’t recommend a family with children under the age of 14, as he plays rough. He is very stubborn at times and has a hard time calming down. He is NOT neutered but I do suggest he get have it done as soon as possible. It may assist with his training/energy. **His behavior and training need addressed by someone with experience** In full transparency I cannot have guests over because he will just jump all over them. It’s led to scratches on their arms and legs and him having to be restrained on a leash. I do live in a small apartment and he does not have enough space to roam. If you are interested in rehoming him, please message me! I am available most days/times to do a meet and great.
