We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. I finally got to meet her today and what a pleasant surprise! Photos do nothing to show how adorable and tiny she is. She is maybe 20 lbs. See the photo of her with the cat- shes not much bigger than him. Akira was dumped near tractor supply in Benton, AR a while back. She ran around the area, evading people for months. She was just scared to death. But one of our awesome volunteers was able to trap her a few weeks back. After she got past the initial fear of being trapped, she just gave in. And now her personality is really shining! This tiny girl is so friendly and sweet! Good with other dogs, good with kids but gets a little nervous with the toddler who visits, so older kids would probably be best. Great with cats as well! At about 2 years old, she is done growing and is about 20 bs. She is now fully vetted and heartworm negative.Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
