Story
This Calico showed up at our house one thanksgiving night and we waited to see if anyone was missing her because she was so sweet and gentle and has been this way since. Well, we got her vetted and microchipped since she likes to go outside sometimes. She is around lots of people, kids, dogs, cats, and one chicken. Ask me anything else about her. We call her KitKat like the chocolate candy.

Or, how about these Calicos in cities near League City, Texas

Story
Hope was found on the side of a busy road.  She was only 4-5 weeks old.  She was  d iagnosed with blunt force trauma to the spine.    She went for a second opinion  to  the   only board certified cat vet in  Texas .  He recommended hydrotherapy and Reiki.  We  believed  she would walk and hoped that she would gain control of her bladder.   For  5 months ,   t wice a day for 30 minutes  sessions , she went into the water and  worked hard .   Her back leg  muscles grew stronger.   B oth of her legs  move d . Her tail move d from side to side, but  w ould n’ t lift it up.   Rei ki kept her spirits high .   Sadly, after another  vet  consultation , it was determined  she has plateaued and w on’t  regain her ability to walk or control her bladder or bowels.    She is a very loving and affectionate cat.  Her special needs don’t hold her back.  She scoots around at the speed of light.  She can climb a cat tree and loves to go on walks outside in her stroller.  She loves to chase the laser light and balls.  She also likes to watch the  world   pass by  while  looking out  the window .    She is cat and dog friendly.  She never meets a stranger.   When you pick her up, she immediately leans back asking for loving pets under her chin and neck.   She is looking for that special person to love with all her heart and take care of her special needs  furever .   Hope is located in Houston, TX and we will consider transport for the right person. CALICO LAP CUDDLER  DOB 6/27/21 Lyra would like a quiet house with a person or two who will get to know her gently, as she is very attached to her foster mom.  Lyra thinks her foster mom is the berries, so Lyra won't be won over in a minute.  She also hates cats except for her little black nemesis Trudy.  Lyra loves playing the game "aggravation" with Trudy.  She's a fabulous biscuit maker, if she adopts you!    HOPE ID 21-0807-E010 If you are interested in Lyra and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at hope@homelesspets.net and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
YOUR PERSONAL OFFICE ASSISTANT  DOB 1/1/20 Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Princess Fiona. Okay, it’s really just Fiona, but I like to think of myself as a princess. I’m a sweet, loving calico gal who LOVES my hoomans, and I mean LOVES them.  I make air biscuits a lot when Foster Meowmy rubs my back and belly, and I’m in kitty heaven when she scratches my chin or ears. Because I have a little bit of an overbite, I often purr with my mouth slightly open, which Foster Meowmy thinks is super cute. She describes me as “full of love.” Although I don’t like to be picked up and held much, I love to climb up in Foster Meowmy’s lap, sit on her desk, or happily sleep on her bed. Unfortunately, I won’t be a great work-from-home buddy until I learn to stay off Foster Meowmy’s keyboard. Interestingly, I have a “startle reflex” to scratch out when I don’t know who’s petting me while I sleep or while I’m just staring off into space. Foster Meowmy thinks I shouldn’t be adopted into a home with kids under eight years old because I would hate, in my surprise, to scratch someone by accident. I merely tolerate the resident cats – as long as they are chill and don’t get in my face. On the other hand, I do not get along at all with the small friendly resident dog. It would be just fine with me if I were the only “pet” child because that means there’d be no competition for my hooman’s attention. I’m a stunning plus-size model. I’ve got a large frame, but then again, I’m admittedly a little bit chubby. I love food. I see it, and I want to eat it! Since I’m not a picky eater, the best remedy is not to offer me free-choice food all day long.  What should do the trick is a feeding schedule and interactive exercise for me to pounce, chase, and lunge when my Foster Meowmy dangles a wand toy over my head. I was found as a stray in southwest Houston, so I’m grateful for my foster home. However, I know that a home of my very own is what’s best for me. If you’re looking for a kitty who will think that you’re the sun and the moon, I’m the bundle-of-love gal for you! Arrange to meet me! Incidentally, one of the advantages of adopting an adult kitty like me who's past the rambunctious kitten stage is that I'll create less chaos in your home and not be as likely to break your treasured accessories. HOPE ID 23-0318-C004 If you are interested in Fiona and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Story
I CAN BE YOUR VERY OWN BABY DOLL!  DOB 3/22/22 Hey there, everyone! I’m Mittens, a sweet, gentle, very submissive dilute-calico gal who’s friendly and sociable with hoomans of all ages. I'm a "bicolor," which means that I'm mostly white with blue and cream patches on my head, back, and tail. I’m what’s called a “polydactyl” because I have more toes on my front paws than most kitties. I’m very petite, and although I’m full grown, I’m the size of a seven-month old kitten. My future foster meowmy was on a TNR mission when she found me, friendly but pregnant and living paw-to-mouth in a feral-cat colony at a very low-income immigrant apartment complex in southwest Houston. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy scooped me up and brought me home with her to foster me. I’m adjusting well to my safe, secure indoor life with brimming food and water bowls, climate control, and toys to play with. However, trying to survive at that feeding station had been a very bad experience because I’d had to fight for food amongst the intact toms. So I’m understandably fearful of other cats and need to be an only-cat child in my forever home. If you’re looking for a baby-doll kitty who’ll always be the size of a kitten, I’m the polydactyl girl for you! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave paw prints all over your heart – not just because I’m eye candy but also because I’m so affectionate and loving. HOPE ID 24-0322-D003 If you are interested in Mittens and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Story
This is Callie. She was found with her eyes glued shut and burn marks on her. It took awhile for her to heal after we found her. She is so very sweet and just wants to be safe and loved. She is quiet, and is ok being left alone, even though she sits beside her foster mom while she is on her computer working. She is somewhat scared of other cats but leaves them alone and stays close to her foster mom.

Story
Introducing.... Hopalong! This sweet boy was most likely hit by a car based on x-rays taken by a vet. His left femur was broken at both ends and completely turned sideways and his knee was not where it should be at all. We were notified about this sweet boy when a plea went out about him from a local county shelter. Basically, his leg was not attached to his pelvis like it should be and was just dangling. He recently had the bad leg amputated and he is learning all about life as a tripod! He is about 6 months old. He was really struggling on the streets, considering he was four pounds when impounded, not only injured but absolutely covered in fleas. Guess who is really loving being in a loving foster home with tons of love and food? This guy! He is really, really sweet and also loves to play - he is a treasure that you will want to meet! His favorite place to lay is cuddled up with his people or safe and sound between the older dogs in his foster home. This is one HUGE cuddler! April 26, 2024, 10:28 am

Story
Elixir was rescued from a high volume shelter in October of 2022. He was adopted quickly because he is a total ham but returned several months later. The problem? He can be a little over the top- in everything. He is one of the most affectionate cats you will ever meet, however, his zest for life carries over in all things. He can get a little too amped up when playing and can play way too rough with other kitties. He is also easily over stimulated and can bite at times. Because he is so amazingly sweet though, we took him to the vet to see if meds would help - guess what! They do! He is now settled back into foster care and doing very well. He can still get a bit too over the top with affection or play and nip. He really must go to a very experienced cat person. As an only pet he would likely flourish. He just needs a very specific type of home and he will make someone so happy! He is absolutely gorgeous and healthy. He is also well behaved and doesn't make a mess at all. It is pretty easy to clip his nails and he uses his scratching post like a champ. Let us know if he might fit into your life!April 26, 2024, 10:28 am
