CALICO LAP CUDDLER  DOB 6/27/21 Lyra would like a quiet house with a person or two who will get to know her gently, as she is very attached to her foster mom.  Lyra thinks her foster mom is the berries, so Lyra won't be won over in a minute.  She also hates cats except for her little black nemesis Trudy.  Lyra loves playing the game "aggravation" with Trudy.  She's a fabulous biscuit maker, if she adopts you!    HOPE ID 21-0807-E010 If you are interested in Lyra and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at hope@homelesspets.net and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
YOUR PERSONAL OFFICE ASSISTANT  DOB 1/1/20 Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Princess Fiona. Okay, it’s really just Fiona, but I like to think of myself as a princess. I’m a sweet, loving calico gal who LOVES my hoomans, and I mean LOVES them.  I make air biscuits a lot when Foster Meowmy rubs my back and belly, and I’m in kitty heaven when she scratches my chin or ears. Because I have a little bit of an overbite, I often purr with my mouth slightly open, which Foster Meowmy thinks is super cute. She describes me as “full of love.” Although I don’t like to be picked up and held much, I love to climb up in Foster Meowmy’s lap, sit on her desk, or happily sleep on her bed. Unfortunately, I won’t be a great work-from-home buddy until I learn to stay off Foster Meowmy’s keyboard. Interestingly, I have a “startle reflex” to scratch out when I don’t know who’s petting me while I sleep or while I’m just staring off into space. Foster Meowmy thinks I shouldn’t be adopted into a home with kids under eight years old because I would hate, in my surprise, to scratch someone by accident. I merely tolerate the resident cats – as long as they are chill and don’t get in my face. On the other hand, I do not get along at all with the small friendly resident dog. It would be just fine with me if I were the only “pet” child because that means there’d be no competition for my hooman’s attention. I’m a stunning plus-size model. I’ve got a large frame, but then again, I’m admittedly a little bit chubby. I love food. I see it, and I want to eat it! Since I’m not a picky eater, the best remedy is not to offer me free-choice food all day long.  What should do the trick is a feeding schedule and interactive exercise for me to pounce, chase, and lunge when my Foster Meowmy dangles a wand toy over my head. I was found as a stray in southwest Houston, so I’m grateful for my foster home. However, I know that a home of my very own is what’s best for me. If you’re looking for a kitty who will think that you’re the sun and the moon, I’m the bundle-of-love gal for you! Arrange to meet me! Incidentally, one of the advantages of adopting an adult kitty like me who's past the rambunctious kitten stage is that I'll create less chaos in your home and not be as likely to break your treasured accessories. HOPE ID 23-0318-C004 If you are interested in Fiona and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site this feline will be this week-end, email us at hope@homelesspets.net , and a volunteer will get back to you. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at GNARHouston@gmail.com to arrange a visit with my foster home! NAME: Steffie Sex: Female Color/Pattern: calico orange white black Breed: calico BDAY approx: April 25 2022 Description Steffie is a gorgeous, quiet calico. Personality Steffie is the most introverted in her litter but loves being pet. She is always out and about finding things to play with and crawl on. She is unassuming and a joiner with the other kittens. She isnt shy at all, but can get spooked if you touch her when she didnt expect it. But then she leans into your hand for the scritches. She might become a lap cat if she goes to a household where there arent so many other kittens who keep her so amused. She likes attention but acts independent and not needy about affection. Background Steffie and her litter were born in a trailer park in north Houston to an outdoor momma who the finders didn't trap. Fleetwood, Mick, Steffie and Lindsay were scared when they came to their GNAR foster home at 6 weeks old, but quickly became very sweet. NAME: BAMBOO Sex: FEMALE Color/Pattern: CALICO ORANGE WHITE BLACK Breed(s): DSH Size: MED Coat length: SHORT BDAY approx: April 9, 2023 Description Bamboo is a gorgeous, playful, kitty with a calico pattern and black mustache. Personality Bamboo is curious, friendly, outgoing and LOVES head scratches. She is the most friendly and loving of all of the kittens in her litter and the first one to let volunteers pick her up. Bamboo is the only calico, and only short hair kitten in her litter. She performs funny antics in her kennel including somersaults, standing up on her back legs and reaching out with her paw. Super cute personality of an attention-getting ham, especially around dinner time. Background Bamboo and her mother, Colleen, and 4 siblings were born in north Houston. The family of kitties moved from a neighbor’s yard onto the finder’s patio area when they were old enough to walk. She fed them there and the kittens proceeded to play and make themselves seen and loved. GNAR let her borrow a trap and she was able to catch them and bring them all to a foster home. Her momma is a gorgeous tan ticked tabby and her siblings are long haired gray or tan tabbies. Their mother is a feral cat who does not like people, but Bamboo decided she likes people pretty early on. Story
Hello applicants!  Meet our adorable Angelina.  This sweet girl is just perfect!  She loves all humans, cats and gets along with dogs too.  Angelina like many other Spring Branch Rescue intakes was found on the streets of Houston.  Probably dumped or got away from her home.  When we took her in she had a litter of kittens with her.  We have been able to find homes for all except this amazing girl.  She is fully housebroken and extremely obedient.  She will do great in any living situation.  Her transition from our foster home to yours should be a very easy one.  Our dear Angelina is FIV positive.  You take a chance when rescuing a cat that they will be FIV positive.  Back in the days it was a death sentence for them as many were not educated enough on this.  THERE is nothing bad about FIV.  WE love our FIV intakes!  They live long happy lives.  They will require a little more attention to upper respiratory issues.  Kinda like someone who has allergies.  You will need to stablish a relationship with a vet and keep up with all your yearly shots as expected.  FIV cats can live with other FIV cats and Dogs.  Unfortunately, cats that have FIV cannot live with those that do not have it.  Some adopters have adopted in the past and kept up with yearly shots for their health cats.  That's up to you as an adopter.  We have to let you know what we were told by our vet.  We have found homes for so many!!!  Absolutely NOTHING bad with their adoptions.  Lived long happy lives.  Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wondering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance. We know if adopted by you they will be loved and cared for . We believe in our local and out of state applicants.  There is a reason we drive to the Pacific Northwest every 2 weeks.  You are worth the drive. We have AMAZING adopters and we need more like them.  No matter if you live here in Houston, the Pacific Northwest or Canada we welcome you!  Thank you for considering to adopt and not shop.   If we are in Houston, then how can you see our posts?   Spring Branch Rescue has fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Yes our rescue is in Houston.  Our available animals live with foster families.  This is a win for you as the transition from our home to yours will be a much easier one.  We do have foster homes in your area.  This is why you are able to see our posts.  Unfortunatelly Meet & Greets have been cancelled due to Covid Restrictions.  Almost all our animals traveling have been adopted.  We have been doing this since 2019 and very successful.  Please take a look at our adopters reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue Transport:  We also have our own rescue van and offer transport from Houston to your area every 2 weeks.  We have delivery points in Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and for our Canadian adopters with a passport there is a stop in Bellingham WA just for you to meet us and drive/fly/or take the ferry with your new pet back to Canada!!!!  We didn't forget about you guys.  Everyone will receive an envelope with your pets required medical records to enter Canada without any issues.    Adoption Fee includes:  This adoption fee will cover everything we have spent so far in Houston in Medical expenses, Training, Food, and Microchip.  If you are adopting outside of Texas or live in Canada your new baby will come with a Health Hertificarte to Travel Accross state lines.   Our adoption fees:    Kittens & Puppies up to 1 year are $400.  Adult Cats & Dogs are $350.  Seniors (7 years & older) $250.   Any pets traveling to the Pacific Northwest will have an additional transport fee of $200.     With your adoption and transport fees we are able to help another animal in need that will join our rescue.  Rescue never sleeps and the cost of doing so keeps increasing.  We keep going thanks to our adoption fees and donations.  We are a registered 501 (C)(3) Non Profit.   If you have fallen madly in love and would like to make this baby part of your family, please go to www.springbranchrescue.org for an adoption application. ##1657175##

Story
This is Callie. She was found with her eyes glued shut and burn marks on her. It took awhile for her to heal after we found her. She is so very sweet and just wants to be safe and loved. She is quiet, and is ok being left alone, even though she sits beside her foster mom while she is on her computer working. She is somewhat scared of other cats but leaves them alone and stays close to her foster mom.

Story
Hope was found on the side of a busy road.  She was only 4-5 weeks old.  She was  d iagnosed with blunt force trauma to the spine.    She went for a second opinion  to  the   only board certified cat vet in  Texas .  He recommended hydrotherapy and Reiki.  We  believed  she would walk and hoped that she would gain control of her bladder.   For  5 months ,   t wice a day for 30 minutes  sessions , she went into the water and  worked hard .   Her back leg  muscles grew stronger.   B oth of her legs  move d . Her tail move d from side to side, but  w ould n’ t lift it up.   Rei ki kept her spirits high .   Sadly, after another  vet  consultation , it was determined  she has plateaued and w on’t  regain her ability to walk or control her bladder or bowels.    She is a very loving and affectionate cat.  Her special needs don’t hold her back.  She scoots around at the speed of light.  She can climb a cat tree and loves to go on walks outside in her stroller.  She loves to chase the laser light and balls.  She also likes to watch the  world   pass by  while  looking out  the window .    She is cat and dog friendly.  She never meets a stranger.   When you pick her up, she immediately leans back asking for loving pets under her chin and neck.   She is looking for that special person to love with all her heart and take care of her special needs  furever .   Hope is located in Houston, TX and we will consider transport for the right person. SASSY AND BEAUTIFUL  DOB 1/1/17 Hi there! I’m Barbie, an affectionate, sweet-faced bicolor tabby gal who’s mostly white with silver tabby on my head, torso, and tail. I’m an outgoing, spunky, but opinionated little lady who absolutely loves to cuddle in my foster meowmy’s lap. I’m a playful girl whose favorite things are kitty tunnels, boxes, and toy mice. When I need a 'time out' after playing or from my housemates, I  prefer to bask in sunbeams on the windowsill or curl up on top of the refrigerator. I get along pretty well with other foster kitties and would do well in a household with a laid-back cat or dog but probably not with small children. Arrange to meet me today! SWEET TALKER  DOB 8/24/19 Well hello everyone! I’m Mothra, a smart, gregarious, curious brown tabby "princess" with white tuxedo markings. I was named after a giant flying moth that was a popular "heroic" monster in horror films. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I’m a “talker” who chirps and trills for everyone when I greet them, and then I plop down to receive a good belly rub. I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids. My siblings Godzilla and Woobee were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. Although I'm available separately, i t  would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. If you’re looking for a beautiful, chatty princess who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart. GOOFY, SASSY FELLA  DOB 8/24/19 Howdy everyone! I’m Godzilla, a goofy, sassy, curious, and energetic brown tabby fella who’s proud of my monster-name. I may be a big boy like Godzilla, but I’m a sweet marshmallow at heart. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids. My sisters Mothra and Woobee were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. My foster mom heard my crying on a driveway, and she says that I’ve continued to let everyone know my opinions ever since. I was the runt of my litter and was bottle-fed by my foster family. Boy did I love my bottle! Those “nursing” sessions ended up being a great time to bond with my humans and probably explain why I’m so sociable with people. The bottle has now been replaced with cat treats, which have probably contributed to my “plus-size.” If you’re looking for a friendly feline companion who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your man! Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my sisters. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.
