SO UNIQUE  DOB 9/1/24 Meet Kali Kat: The Tiny Tempest with a Tender Side! Forged in frost and rescued from the chaos of a Texas freeze, Kali Kat emerged like a mythical creature—equal parts fire and ice. With her enchanting cali-tabby coat and the soul of a tiny lioness, Kali was discovered mid-meow, summoning the universe for rescue with the vocal prowess of an opera diva. Now safe and warm, Kali rules her domain with a velvet paw and a sharp gaze. Her love for humans is legendary—chin scratches? Bliss. Ear rubs? Nirvana. She’ll melt into your hand like butter on toast… until another feline dares cross her path without proper clearance. Kali's social circle is exclusive, darling. She’s not here for your average kitty drama. She prefers quality over quantity in her furry friendships, and she’s not afraid to flash her adorably ferocious "angry face" to keep the riffraff inline.Affectionate, expressive, and just the right amount of spicy—Kali Kat is not your average housecat. She’s an experience. A vibe. A legend in the making. HOPE ID 25-0201-G018 Kali Kat's $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. WHITE SPLASHES AND DASHES EMBELLISH HER BODY  DOB 11/9/20 Hey there, everyone! I’m Aurora, a sweet, cuddly, very calm, and unusually marked “tabico” gal. I’m mostly white with “torbie” (tabby-tortoiseshell) markings on my head, saddleback, and tail. Don’t you love the splash of white on the top of my back and the racing stripes curling up my haunches? And can you find a more adorably inquisitive face, with more wide-eyed innocence, than mine? I luxuriate when I can snuggle with my foster meowmy. These are cherished moments that I don’t like to share with other kitties.   You see, before I was rescued, I experienced a difficult life trying to eek-out a hardscrabble existence as a stray. I often had to fight other community cats for every bite I consumed. (No wonder I don’t trust other felines!) I was in poor condition when a Good Samaritan/ vet tech rescued me and brought me to the clinic to begin my recovery. I eagerly responded to the physical and emotional TLC that was showered upon me, and when I was eventually ready, my HOPE Foster Meowmy stepped up to the plate and promised to find me a forever home. Could that be with you? If you think that my sweet, calm, affectionate presence would be a good fit for your family, arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting mature gals like me. Unlike whippersnapper kittens, I’m much less likely to cause mayhem in your home or break any of your treasured accessories. HOPE ID 25-1115-G282 Aurora’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. Story
WILL HALVE YOUR SORROWS AND DOUBLE YOUR JOYS  DOB 5/1/25 Hey there, everyone! I’m Misty, a beautiful, sweet, playful dilute calico gal whose amiable personality radiates to everyone whom I meet. In fact, when I was spayed, the vet staff was impressed by how sweet I am. That my congeniality stands out is quite a compliment since they see a steady stream of kittens. I was found as a four-month old orphan kitten with no momma or siblings in sight. I’ll never tell, but Foster Meowmy thinks I must’ve been someone’s pet who got lost, escaped, or was abandoned. When she found me at her community cat feeding station in southwest Houston, I was hungry for both food and love, so I let her pick me up and carry me home. I made friends easily with my five foster mates, and I’m delighted to have a built-in “litter” because all of us orphans are about the same age! We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other until we’re exhausted, and then we collapse in a kitten puddle. We love to chase each other through the cat tunnel, and I’m mesmerized when Foster Meowmy waves the flying-turkey-feather wand toy over my head for me to lunge at and wiggles it around the room for me to pounce on. Now I’m ready to bring my cordial charm, kitten friskiness, and pastel beauty for my forever family to enjoy. Could that be you? Take me home, and I promise to halve your sorrows and double your joys. How can you resist me? If you're looking for a pair of kittens, please consider one of my foster mates, Freddy, Sushi, Little Turkey, Porkchop, or McCoy. We think it'd be the cat's meow if we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you're at work or on vacation. HOPE ID 25-0827-C135 Misty’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. Story
Description Black, Orange and White (medium fur) Female Calico with white paws. Personality Pepper is a very mild-mannered, well behaved, litter box trained cat. She is extremely polite and affectionate and a perfect indoor kitty. She prefers to let you know when she wants to be held and if you sit in a chair she happily jumps into your lap for affection. Pepper is patient and has a gentle nature. She can seem shy when adapting to a new place, but quickly will begin to happily explore. Background Pepper was found behind a garage parking lot with no shelter, food or water. She was extremely thin, malnourished and very friendly, even to a stranger. Her finder left her food and water and then returned two more days to feed her. On the third day they brought a cat carrier and she walked right into the carrier. She must have either been lost or dumped. They posted her as a found stray and tried to find her home but no one claimed her. She was spayed at The Greater Good on April 29th, dewormed, vaccinated, and given flea treatment. Pepper will make a wonderful pet for a small family with older children or a single person or couple looking for a wonderful companion. To meet me please contact my foster home via GNARHouston@gmail.com

Story
NAME: Crayola Sex: female Color/Pattern: dilute Calico, gray, peach, white Breed: domestic shorthair Weight: ~6lbs at 6 months old Age at intake: ~8 weeks BDAY approx: May 10, 2024 Intake date : July 7, 2024 Found date: ~July 1 Coat length: short Description Crayola is a very pretty and rare dilute calico, who is outgoing, affectionate, and always acting on her curiosity. Personality Crayola is smart and adventurous. She does flips in her crate for fun and is athletic in other ways too. She is very playful and explorative. Even when she is nervous and not sure of herself yet in a new place or with a new person, her curiosity gets the best of her. She has FOMO and wants to be part of everything going on. She is always watching and aware of everything around her. You won't catch her snoozing much because she is always alert. Crayola will ask for attention by rolling on her back for belly rubs and by weaving between your legs when you are sitting down. She will act coy and like she doesn't trust you, but as soon as you turn away she runs up for some affection. How dare you ignore her. Background Crayola and her brother were found at about 6-8 weeks old just before Hurricane Beryl in July, down in a neighborhood in SW Houston. Their finder brought them to a GNAR group home, where many others had been sent from the same large colony of cats that live there and are actively TNR'd. Crayola was big, fat and healthy, but defensive and hissy. Her brother was small and weak and sadly didn't make it. Crayola had to stay in a quarantine crate for several months because of her brother's illness. But she was always robust and a great eater. She recovered well from an eye infection they had when they arrived, that left a tiny scar on one of her lenses. Compatibility Dogs - yes, eventually Cats - yes Kids - yes

Story
LOVES TO CUDDLE, PLAY, AND ENTERTAIN  DOB 5/18/22 Hey there, everyone! I’m Mikey, a sweet, friendly, curious, playful, and entertaining “bicolor,” which means that I'm mostly white with grey tabby on my head, back, and tail. I got my name from a 1972 Quaker Oaks “Mikey Likes It” commercial of a toddler who would “eat anything.” That’s me, and I’m not ashamed at all! There are cats starving in China, so no food should be tossed out! You see, my family moved out of their apartment and left me behind to fend for myself outside. I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, so I made the best of my situation. I enjoyed climbing trees, chasing squirrels, and following folks when they walked their dogs. I assumed that an open apartment door was an invitation for me to mosey on in, and everyone adored me. Only problem was, nobody wanted to adopt a stray cat, which is what I really wanted. So “I ate anything” until my future foster meowmy decided that she wanted to foster me until she could find me my forever home with a family who’d never abandon me again. Here I am in my foster home, happy as a lark with the other kitties. I love to cuddle beside Foster Meowmy as we binge on Netflix and Animal Planet, and when she heads for bed, I curl up at her feet. And boy howdy! I love to entertain my hoomans when we interactively play with feather wand-toys and laser pointers as well as when I play soccer with my crinkle balls and catnip mice. I’d be a great kids’ playmate as long as they knew that I don’t like to be picked up. Arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a kitty like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your treasured accessories. HOPE ID 23-1118-S004 Mikey's $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. Free Willy! A quirky looking boy because of my cleft lip/nose, I’m as sweet as southern iced tea! Luckily, I’ve been checked out and am NOT special needs—I eat, play, and cuddle just fine. Cuddling and chilling on human laps are two of my specialties. Found as an orphan like the orca in the movie, Free Willy, I was quick to form a bond with my humans. I’m now looking to form a long lasting friendship with my adopters and forever home! I get along with other cats (and probably dogs too). So FREE WILLY—take me home today! I’ll be warming your lap and heart in no time. -Reach out ASAP. -Or arrange to see me at Petsmart 2902 S Shepherd Sat and Sun 1130-4p.

Story
ADORABLE LITTLE MISCHIEF-MAKERS  DOB 3/29/25 Hey there, everyone! We’re Florence and Frida, an inseparable pair of almost-identical tortoiseshell twin sisters. Our foster pawrents tell us apart because I (Frida) have white mittens on my front paws and high white boots on my back legs as well as a splash or apricot on my forehead. We were born in foster care to a stray momma who had been rescued, so we've been handled a lot from the get-go. We both love it when our foster pawrents lavish us with loving attention. In fact, we expect to be cooed over! Once I (Florence) got comfy with my foster hoomans' coddling me, I was the first to vocalize my complaint when I noticed that they weren’t focusing enough on us; however, now I (Frida) am not afraid to add my voice to the choir in demanding more attention when we’ve been ignored. I (Frida) am the leader of the two of us, so I’m usually the first to investigate new experiences, and I (Florence) usually follow not far behind. Our foster pawrents call us their little troublemakers, and we are making an effort to learn our boundaries and restrictions. It’s difficult to find us when we’re not together. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. Now we’re ready to bring our frenetic kitten energy, sociability, and mischief-making to our forever family. Could that be you? Our foster pawrents are insisting that we be adopted together so we can be playmates and cuddle buddies while our hoomans are at work or on vacation. We promise to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys! Arrange to meet us today!! HOPE ID 25-0511-G093, G094 Florence & Frida’s $250 bonded-pair adoption fee includes spay/neuter basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.
