CALICO LAP CUDDLER  DOB 6/27/21 Lyra would like a quiet house with a person or two who will get to know her gently, as she is very attached to her foster mom.  Lyra thinks her foster mom is the berries, so Lyra won't be won over in a minute.  She also hates cats except for her little black nemesis Trudy.  Lyra loves playing the game "aggravation" with Trudy.  She's a fabulous biscuit maker, if she adopts you!    HOPE ID 21-0807-E010 If you are interested in Lyra and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at hope@homelesspets.net and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
YOUR PERSONAL OFFICE ASSISTANT  DOB 1/1/20 Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Princess Fiona. Okay, it’s really just Fiona, but I like to think of myself as a princess. I’m a sweet, loving calico gal who LOVES my hoomans, and I mean LOVES them. I make air biscuits a lot when Foster Meowmy rubs my back and belly, and I’m in kitty heaven when she scratches my chin or ears. Because I have a little bit of an overbite, I often purr with my mouth slightly open, which Foster Meowmy thinks is super cute. She describes me as “full of love.” Although I don’t like to be picked up and held much, I love to climb up in Foster Meowmy’s lap, sit on her desk, or happily sleep on her bed. Unfortunately, I won’t be a great work-from-home buddy until I learn to stay off Foster Meowmy’s keyboard. Interestingly, I have a “startle reflex” to scratch out when I don’t know who’s petting me while I sleep or while I’m just staring off into space. Foster Meowmy thinks I shouldn’t be adopted into a home with kids under eight years old because I would hate, in my surprise, to scratch someone by accident. I merely tolerate the resident cats – as long as they are chill and don’t get in my face. On the other hand, I do not get along at all with the small friendly resident dog. It would be just fine with me if I were the only “pet” child because that means there’d be no competition for my hooman’s attention. I’m a stunning plus-size model. I’ve got a large frame, but then again, I’m admittedly a little bit chubby. I love food. I see it, and I want to eat it! Since I’m not a picky eater, the best remedy is not to offer me free-choice food all day long.  What should do the trick is a feeding schedule and interactive exercise for me to pounce, chase, and lunge when my Foster Meowmy dangles a wand toy over my head. I was found as a stray in southwest Houston, so I’m grateful for my foster home. However, I know that a home of my very own is what’s best for me. If you’re looking for a kitty who will think that you’re the sun and the moon, I’m the bundle-of-love gal for you! Arrange to meet me!  Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a ki t ty who's past the stage of kitten mayhem. I'll create less chaos in your home and not be as likely to break your treasured accessories. HOPE ID 23-0318-C004 If you are interested in Fiona and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site this feline will be this week-end, email us at hope@homelesspets.net , and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
I CAN BE YOUR VERY OWN BABY DOLL!  DOB 3/22/22 Hey there, everyone! I’m Mittens, a sweet, gentle, very submissive dilute-calico gal who’s friendly and sociable with hoomans of all ages. I'm a "bicolor," which means that I'm mostly white with blue and cream patches on my head, back, and tail. I’m what’s called a “polydactyl” because I have more toes on my front paws than most kitties. I’m very petite, and although I’m full grown, I’m the size of a seven-month old kitten. My future foster meowmy was on a TNR mission when she found me, friendly but pregnant and living paw-to-mouth in a feral-cat colony at a very low-income immigrant apartment complex in southwest Houston. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy scooped me up and brought me home with her to foster me. I’m adjusting well to my safe, secure indoor life with brimming food and water bowls, climate control, and toys to play with. However, trying to survive at that feeding station had been a very bad experience because I’d had to fight for food amongst the intact toms. So I’m understandably fearful of other cats and need to be an only-cat child in my forever home. If you’re looking for a baby-doll kitty who’ll always be the size of a kitten, I’m the polydactyl girl for you! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave paw prints all over your heart – not just because I’m eye candy but also because I’m so affectionate and loving. HOPE ID 24-0322-D003 If you are interested in Mittens and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Story
PLEASE SCRATCH MY NECK!  DOB 2/17/24 Hey there, everyone! I’m Autumn, and I’m a sweet, friendly, and beautiful “tabico,” which means I’m a tabby-calico who’s mostly white with patches of gray and red tabby. I just love my foster family and all of the attention that they shower on me. I adore being scratched on the back of my neck, and I either rub on my hooman’s legs or meow in my tiny, crackly voice to get attention so that someone will pet me. My foster family has sweet little girls who love to carry me around. I must say that being carried is not my favorite pastime, but I’ll tolerate it. I’d much rather be in someone’s lap and soak up being petted and scratched. When my sister Summer and I were seven weeks old, someone rolled us in a shopping cart inside PetSmart, turned around, and walked out! Fortunately we were very healthy, easy-to-handle, and well-cared for, despite the fact that we were abandoned by our caretakers. The store manager was desperate to help us because he didn’t want to have to take us to a kill-shelter. After a few unproductive calls, he was delighted when Foster Meowmy and her young daughters stepped up to the plate and agreed to foster us. At first we weren’t keen on meeting the resident adult cats, but we eventually warmed up to them, and we enjoy playing with the younger foster kittens who are close to our age. Now I'm ready for my forever home. Arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, although Summer and I are available separately, we think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Story
Hope was found on the side of a busy road.  She was only 4-5 weeks old.  She was  d iagnosed with blunt force trauma to the spine.    She went for a second opinion  to  the   only board certified cat vet in  Texas .  He recommended hydrotherapy and Reiki.  We  believed  she would walk and hoped that she would gain control of her bladder.   For  5 months ,   t wice a day for 30 minutes  sessions , she went into the water and  worked hard .   Her back leg  muscles grew stronger.   B oth of her legs  move d . Her tail move d from side to side, but  w ould n’ t lift it up.   Rei ki kept her spirits high .   Sadly, after another  vet  consultation , it was determined  she has plateaued and w on’t  regain her ability to walk or control her bladder or bowels.    She is a very loving and affectionate cat.  Her special needs don’t hold her back.  She scoots around at the speed of light.  She can climb a cat tree and loves to go on walks outside in her stroller.  She loves to chase the laser light and balls.  She also likes to watch the  world   pass by  while  looking out  the window .    She is cat and dog friendly.  She never meets a stranger.   When you pick her up, she immediately leans back asking for loving pets under her chin and neck.   She is looking for that special person to love with all her heart and take care of her special needs  furever .   Hope is located in Houston, TX and we will consider transport for the right person.
