As I heard my Foster Meowmy describe me, “Cardi B is soooo sweet and special.” I’m one beautiful, affectionate calico, if I do say so myself, who purrs constantly and loves to be held. I’m so easygoing and fearless that I climbed right into my foster sister’s lap the first time I met her. I’m young and frisky, so I love chasing the string wand toy around the room when someone wiggles it like a snake. A kind HOPE volunteer trapped me among a colony of community cats in a trailer park. After I was spayed and ear-tipped, this kind woman realized that I was too sweet and friendly to be released outside again. Maybe I was someone’s misplaced or abandoned pet, but I’ll never tell! Anyway, thank heavens my Foster Meowmy stepped up to the plate and brought me to the safe haven of her home. When I came into my foster home, I immediately sniffed noses with the most unfriendly of their cats. Nobody hissed, and immediately everyone – both hooman and feline – fell in love with me as they joyfully breathed a sigh of relief! I was even fearlessly curious about the big dog, and since then we've begun to play together. Understandably my foster family has gotten very attached to me because “Basically, Cardi B’s the best.” Although I love it here in my foster home, I realize that I’ll get more attention if I bring my winsome personality and relaxed friendliness to a forever family who has fewer cats to rob me of the attention that I want and deserve. Peach patches are sprinkled over my tabby areas as if I’d gotten splattered with caramel in a candy factory. My favorite thing in the world is simple – to be next to you. It could be the complete peace I feel while I make biscuits when watching TV with you. Or it could be when I curl up beside you to settle in for a cozy head massage or belly rub! I’m the kind of kitty who seems to understand when you need company. Whether you’ve had a long day or just want to relax with a soft, furry, comforting presence nearby, I’m happiest lying next to you, soaking up your love, and giving it right back to you. Although I’m not a lap cat per se, occasionally I’ll jump up in my foster family’s laps, and I’m always ready to snuggle next to someone on the sofa or in bed. I’m a playful gal who especially enjoys when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy over my head for me to claw at. A Good Samaritan was feeding a lot of us friendly cats who had been abandoned by our owners when they moved away from her apartment complex. Unfortunately, because this kind lady could not bring us all inside or pay to get us fixed, many residents were abusing the caterwauling intact males. Thank heavens this compassionate lady reached out to HOPE, and a team of feral-cat volunteers got involved in solving her dilemma. In hopes that our pregnancies could be avoided, our future foster meowmy rescued Sona, Silver, Zelda, and me by bringing us to the safe haven of her home. Now that I’m permanently impervious to getting pregnant, I’m ready to be the easygoing, loving new addition to my forever family. I’ll fit into either a calm or an active environment where I could be the fluffy bedfellow of adults or small children. I do draw the line in that my ideal home should not have other cats or dogs. While he can be just a touch more cautious than his brother Tiger (who is also adoptable), his loving personality shines through the moment he feels safe.
