HER SOULFUL EYES DELIVER YOU FROM DAILY CHAOS  DOB 2/14/24 Hey there, everyone! I’m Rumi, an incredibly sweet, easygoing, and beautiful “tabico,” a.k.a. tabby-calico, gal with stunning colors that glow as if I were golden. Actually, I’m like any calico because I have large areas of white -- except I have brown tabby instead of the usual black. Peach patches are sprinkled over my tabby areas as if I’d gotten splattered with caramel in a candy factory. My favorite thing in the world is simple – to be next to you. It could be the complete peace I feel while I make biscuits when watching TV with you. Or it could be when I curl up beside you to settle in for a cozy head massage or belly rub! I’m the kind of kitty who seems to understand when you need company. Whether you’ve had a long day or just want to relax with a soft, furry, comforting presence nearby, I’m happiest lying next to you, soaking up your love, and giving it right back to you. You'll feel me affectionately weaving through your legs while you do chores, but I’m actually leaving my pheromones to mark you as mine. Although we will share an occasional wand-toy adventure together when the mood strikes, I’m basically a low-maintenance girl who knows not to demand your time and attention when you’re busy. I can entertain myself with window-patrol duty or cozy naps in soft beds. Plus I get along great with all ages of hoomans, including kids, as well as dogs; as far as other cats go, I tolerate them but prefer to be on my own. My foster meowmy first saw me roaming in her neighborhood as a friendly stray. For a long time she fed me as she drove by but finally succumbed to my winsome personality by bringing me inside. Now I’m ready to be the beautiful soul who brings my comforting energy, affectionate cuddles, and peaceful presence to bless my forever family. Could that be you? Give me a chance, and I’ll help deliver you from the turmoil of the day. HOPE ID 26-0128-G017 Rumi’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. To apply online: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Rumi will be this weekend, email us at sfenicle1@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you. FLUFFY BEDFELLOW  DOB 1/25/25 Hey there, everyone! I’m Ani, a super-friendly, affectionate, and cuddly “tabico,” a.k.a. tabby-calico, gal who has the most adorable, angelic face you’ll ever see.  Actually, I’m like any calico because I have large areas of white -- except I have brown tabby instead of the usual black. Peach patches are sprinkled over my tabby areas as if I’d gotten splattered with caramel in a candy factory.   I love people of all ages, so I luxuriate when my foster family scratches my ears, chin, and cheeks. Although I’m not a lap cat per se, occasionally I’ll jump up in my foster family’s laps, and I’m always ready to snuggle next to someone on the sofa or in bed. I’m a playful gal who especially enjoys when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy over my head for me to claw at. A Good Samaritan was feeding a lot of us friendly cats who had been abandoned by our owners when they moved away from her apartment complex. Unfortunately, because this kind lady could not bring us all inside or pay to get us fixed, many residents were abusing the caterwauling intact males. Thank heavens this compassionate lady reached out to HOPE, and a team of feral-cat volunteers got involved in solving her dilemma. In hopes that our pregnancies could be avoided, our future foster meowmy rescued Sona, Silver, Zelda, and me by bringing us to the safe haven of her home. Now that I’m permanently impervious to getting pregnant, I’m ready to be the easygoing, loving new addition to my forever family. I’ll fit into either a calm or an active environment where I could be the fluffy bedfellow of adults or small children. I do draw the line in that my ideal home should not have other cats or dogs. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart. HOPE ID 26-0121-M006 Ani’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. NAME: Crayola Sex: female Color/Pattern: dilute Calico, gray, peach, white Breed: domestic shorthair Weight: ~6lbs at 6 months old Age at intake: ~8 weeks BDAY approx: May 10, 2024 Intake date : July 7, 2024 Found date: ~July 1 Coat length: short Description Crayola is a very pretty and rare dilute calico, who is outgoing, affectionate, and always acting on her curiosity. Personality Crayola is smart and adventurous. She does flips in her crate for fun and is athletic in other ways too. She is very playful and explorative. Even when she is nervous and not sure of herself yet in a new place or with a new person, her curiosity gets the best of her. She has FOMO and wants to be part of everything going on. She is always watching and aware of everything around her. You won't catch her snoozing much because she is always alert. Crayola will ask for attention by rolling on her back for belly rubs and by weaving between your legs when you are sitting down. She will act coy and like she doesn't trust you, but as soon as you turn away she runs up for some affection. How dare you ignore her. Background Crayola and her brother were found at about 6-8 weeks old just before Hurricane Beryl in July, down in a neighborhood in SW Houston. Their finder brought them to a GNAR group home, where many others had been sent from the same large colony of cats that live there and are actively TNR'd. Crayola was big, fat and healthy, but defensive and hissy. Her brother was small and weak and sadly didn't make it. Crayola had to stay in a quarantine crate for several months because of her brother's illness. But she was always robust and a great eater. She recovered well from an eye infection they had when they arrived, that left a tiny scar on one of her lenses. Compatibility Dogs - yes, eventually Cats - yes Kids - yes

Story
Description Black, Orange and White (medium fur) Female Calico with white paws. Personality Pepper is a very mild-mannered, well behaved, litter box trained cat. She is extremely polite and affectionate and a perfect indoor kitty. She prefers to let you know when she wants to be held and if you sit in a chair she happily jumps into your lap for affection. Pepper is patient and has a gentle nature. She can seem shy when adapting to a new place, but quickly will begin to happily explore. Background Pepper was found behind a garage parking lot with no shelter, food or water. She was extremely thin, malnourished and very friendly, even to a stranger. Her finder left her food and water and then returned two more days to feed her. On the third day they brought a cat carrier and she walked right into the carrier. She must have either been lost or dumped. They posted her as a found stray and tried to find her home but no one claimed her. She was spayed at The Greater Good on April 29th, dewormed, vaccinated, and given flea treatment. Pepper will make a wonderful pet for a small family with older children or a single person or couple looking for a wonderful companion. Story
Meet Jenga – my “class clown” sweet little lady who is finally ready for her forever home! TOO LONG, DIDN’T READ - SUMMARY: * Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat * Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado (on occasion). Transport cost is included in the adoption fee. * Jenga will be shy at first in her new home and needs an adopter who will be patient with her while she adjusts. * Adoption fee (adult 1.5+ years) is $315 I had the pleasure of finding and raising Miss Jenga for the last year and a half, helping her go from a scared little kitten to a confident and beautiful cat. And BOY is she beautiful — a chunky little Tabico / Calico with cheek smudges who always looks like she’s smiling! Perfection! For the first year we were together, Jenga had no interest in being my friend. Don’t get me wrong, she was loving her life indoors… I caught her on camera every day bouncing around with her foster kitten buddies and chowing down on all the food she could possibly want. She just wasn’t ready to trust humans, and with that cute little face, I didn’t mind waiting around for her ;) About a year into our time together, Jenga finally made notable progress. She started getting excited to see me when I walked in the room! She darted up to a high shelf where she felt safe, stretched, rolled around, and even accepted some pets from me in exchange for treats. Since that day, Jenga has continued to become a confident, sweet, and friendly little kitty. She is without a doubt the queen of the foster cats, and they all follow her lead. She has also become a bit of a class clown!! She is shamelessly in love with Churu treats and will tap on my hand until she gets one (I put that video in her adoption profile - it’s pretty cute). She loves hanging out on her window perch, leaning over and staring down at me with her arms hanging over the side like a cute little dork. She also demands pets as soon as I walk in the room. It was bittersweet to realize that Jenga was finally ready for adoption because I love her to pieces. But after all her hard work learning to trust, Jenga deserves a family of her own who can give her all the love and attention she could ever want… not my loving foster home where she has to share that attention with 10 other kitties. I can’t wait to find her perfect family! If (and only if) you are considering opening your home to two cats, Jenga has a best friend named Aspen (a petite orange gal) who needs an understanding adopter willing to help bring her out of her shell. Adopting Aspen is NOT a condition for adopting Jenga, because Jenga deserves her happily ever after regardless. Just worth mentioning :) — Jenga has lived with multiple cats her whole life and would do very well if adopted with a buddy or into a home with a friendly resident cat. She has never met a dog before, but with proper introductions she may do well with a very calm and cat-savvy dog. Her ideal home would be a relatively calm environment with no children (or older / respectful children who understand the importance of giving a kitty her space.) She will thrive with experienced cat owners who will be patient while she gets used to her new surroundings. Once she does, she will return that love and patience tenfold! Jenga is approximately 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy.

The adoption application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat

Jenga is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes.

Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and transportation costs. Also, when you adopt from ROSES Rescues, you’re doing more than giving your new family member a home. Each adoption fee sponsors a cat on the streets of Houston to get fixed, helping end the cycle of overpopulation in a rough environment. We thank you so much for your contribution to our efforts!

Meet Finn — the little survivor with the biggest heart. 💛 ***ROUGH LIFE, FABULOUS KITTY ALERT!*** Summary: * Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat * FIV+ Kitty * Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado (on occasion). Transport cost is included in the adoption fee. * Adoption fee (adult 1.5+ years) is $315 --- Have you ever wanted to make a massive difference in one animal's life? Finn is your chance to do just that. His story is heartbreaking but his spirit is a great reminder of how lucky we all are to have animals in our lives. This sweet boy has lived through more hardship than most animals ever should, yet he wakes up every day ready to love. Finn was found skinny, flea-ridden, and suffering from mange, wandering an apartment complex in Houston. He was going up to strangers begging for help… but because of his skin condition he was shooed away every time -- no one was willing to do the right thing for Finn. After some time, he was picked up and taken to the city pound where he quickly ended up on the euthanasia list. All for a completely treatable condition. Thankfully, a rescue stepped in just in time, and that’s when Finn’s incredible comeback story began. Once safe, we learned his situation was even more serious than the obvious issue with fleas and mange (those are easy and quick to cure). Finn was diagnosed with FIP, a very serious condition, and his chest was filling with fluid. He could barely breathe. After emergency drainage and lifesaving medication, he made a remarkable recovery! As if that weren’t enough, Finn also tested positive for FIV. He was also diagnosed with stomatitis (a painful condition causing inflammation of the mouth and gums.) He had most of his teeth removed to combat this issue, and while under anesthesia, vets discovered he had an old, untreated jaw fracture -- an injury no animal should ever have to suffer alone. And yet… through every setback, every treatment, every moment of discomfort… Finn has remained gentle, affectionate, and endlessly forgiving. He LOVES his people, loves to snuggle, and just wants to be near someone who finally sees him as worthy. --- After a tremendous amount of effort from his foster mom, this kiddo is doing great. His FIV is easily managed and doesn’t affect his day-to-day life. The stomatitis has already been addressed with his dental surgery, and Finn passed the 90 day observation period for FIP treatment back in December with a full recovery. The mange was gone after a quick topical flea treatment. He eats normally, feels great, and simply needs a forever home. In return, you get a devoted, grateful companion who has already shown he’s stronger than anything he’s been through. Finn does well with mellow feline friends (FIV-positive buddies are safest), but he is absolutely not a fan of dogs — and who could blame him after surviving the streets of Houston? He is approximately 3 years old, neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, FIV positive (but FeLV and HW negative), dewormed and on flea and tick prevention. The adoption application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat

Finn is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes.

Some animals walk into your life like they were always meant to find you — Zoey is one of those souls. TOO LONG, DIDN’T READ - SUMMARY: * Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat * Zoey is FIV+ so would do best as an only cat or with another FIV kitty! * Not a fan of young kids, would be fine with older children who understand cats and are willing to give them space when needed. * Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado (on occasion). Transport cost is included in the adoption fee. * Adoption fee (adult 1.5+ years) is $315 --- Zoey was found behind a police station, quietly waiting for someone to notice her. One kind officer saw that she wasn’t just another stray... she leaned into every gentle touch, purred at every kind word, and looked at people like she was hoping they were hers. After she was rescued, her foster found that she did have a microchip! Sadly, when but when her previous owner was contacted they did not want her back. And just like that, Zoey’s whole world changed. After nearly 6 years of being loved and belonging to a family, she was abandoned. But here’s the thing about Zoey: She loves anyway. Zoey has the softest black fur and four perfect little white paws. She looks like a perfect little princess who is always wearing ballet slippers! But her true beauty is in the way she loves people. When she trusts you, she will put her front paws on your chest and gently press her face to yours, purring the kind of purr that settles right into your heart. It feels like she’s saying, “Thank you for seeing me.” She wants to be close. To be someone’s comfort. Someone’s quiet companion. Someone’s home. Zoey may prefer to be the only cat, not because she doesn’t have love to give, but because she gives it all to you. She just wants to be your cat. Your lap buddy. Your warm spot in the morning sun. Your soft place to land at the end of the day. She has already known what it’s like to not be wanted. We think it's way past time for her to know what it feels like to be chosen forever! If you are looking for a companion who will love you with a depth and devotion that feels rare and special… If you have a quiet spot beside you that’s waiting to be filled… If you believe that some hearts are meant to meet each other… Zoey is waiting for you! — Zoey does well with calm kitties -- she and her foster brother Finn (both FIV+) get along fabulously. FIV is not extremely contagious and is mainly spread through deep bite wounds from cat fights (something she is not prone to!) That said, her safest home may be as an only cat or with another FIV+ kitty. She has never interacted with a dog, but with his genial personality (and proper introductions) he could do great with a calm and respectful pup. She is approximately 6 years old, spayed, microchipped, FIV+ (but FeLV and Heartworm negative), and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy... All she needs now is a forever home! The adoption application can be found here:

Zoey is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes.

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES:

Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and transportation costs. Also, when you adopt from ROSES Rescues, you’re doing more than giving your new family member a home. Each adoption fee sponsors a cat on the streets of Houston to get fixed, helping end the cycle of overpopulation in a rough environment. We thank you so much for your contribution to our efforts!
