Calico kittens & cats in Dumfries, Virginia

Ellie is a very sweet and loving cat. We've had her and her littermate, Lego, for almost 10 years. They're wonderful cats who get along well with each other and with our dog.For the last 3-4 years, Ellie has been pooping outside her litter box. We've made every change we could think of, but nothing has worked. She has now also started peeing in a spot in our basement, and we can't stop that either. She has no known medical issues.Unfortunately, we don't have the time to keep investigating what else might help. This is a very difficult decision and it hurts our hearts, but we feel Ellie would benefit from a new environment. Since she has only ever lived with Lego, we've decided to re-home him as well so they can stay together.

Meet Sunny #6475, a gorgeous 14-years-young calico queen looking for a quiet home to spend her golden years. Sunny has lived most of her life with one family and, through no fault of her own, is searching for a new place to call home. She recently received a clean bill of health from the vet and is ready to share her heart with someone special. At first, Sunny can be a little shy, but once she trusts you, she’s incredibly affectionate. She loves head scratches, chin rubs, soft blankets, cat trees, hidey cubes, and stretching out in a sunny window. Her beautiful coat does require regular brushing, and she’s a wonderful client at the groomer, visiting twice a year for a spa day. Like any proper calico queen, Sunny prefers affection on her terms. Her ideal home is quiet and low-traffic, with an adopter who appreciates a companion rather than a constant lap cat. She would do best as an only pet or with very mellow pets that will respect her space. Dogs are not her thing. Sunny weighs 12 pounds, has been strictly indoors her entire life, and would love nothing more than a patient adopter who can give her the time and attention she deserves. If you think Sunny may be the perfect companion for you, please complete our cat adoption application: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Feline-Adoption-Request-Form.pdf Once completed, email the application to dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org with the subject line "Sunny the Cat." Approved applicants may then be contacted to arrange a meet-and-greet with Sunny.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Matilda.  I was trying to eat at a community colony but other cats chased me away.  The feeder at the colony noticed and brought me to KSC who got me vetted.  I’m a quiet girl who loves other cats but I’m not a lap kitty.  I like to have my own space and keep my paws on the ground.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. October 26, 2026, 10:31 pm
