Story
She is an amazing cat. She good with dogs. She doesn’t seem to like MEN to much. So would prefer for her to go to a female house house. Her name means apricot in Arabic (mishmish) She likes dogs! I’ve flown with her and she did great! She took a vacation with me in Florida. She’s not a Velcro cat but she does always sit nearby me and she does like to sleep with me. Everyone loves her. She’s incredibly sweet and loving. Doesn’t tear up furniture and is super easy going. I moved from a top story high raise into a townhouse and before I could get her fixed she was already pregnant. So she’s had kittens but remains tiny like a kitten herself. She’s has a strong character as in she is extremely adaptable and has perseverance as I’ve never seen in a cat before. Brave, sweet, kind 🩵

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Auriel.  I was rescued in Iraq by people working there. Once a normal kitty, I sadly sustained electrical burns which took my ear and injured my paw.   Luckily, with great vet care I recovered totally and they tell me I’m the sweetest girl ever.  My rescuers arranged for me to come to KSC along with Nimbus.  Through all that I’ve gone through, I still trust in people and I love attention and pets.  I love playing with the fun toys here - the “mice” are great!  I will make a wonderful kitty companion to you in a safe and happy home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. August 6, 2026, 9:24 pm

Story
Dusty is an independent, outdoor-savvy cat who comes from a feral background and is best suited for a working-cat placement where they can live freely with minimal human interaction. Having spent their life outside and accustomed to caring for themselves, Dusty is not socialized to people and prefers to keep distance, though there is no known history of bites or scratches. Dusty will thrive in an environment such as a barn, stable, workshop, or rural property that can offer safe shelter, daily food and water, and the freedom to live on their own terms. In return, Dusty can help naturally manage rodents and become a dependable, low-maintenance member of your property.Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
