Story
Mama Tao is a gorgeous and petite dilute calico female. She was found as a pregnant stray on the streets of Nashville, but acts like she’s been indoors her whole life. She enjoys looking out the window, scratching her cardboard scratching post, and lounging near people in gorgeous poses. Mama Tao is estimated to be 1-2 years old and still loves being picked up and carried around like a baby. She hasn’t figured out playing yet, though. She is litter trained and gets along with other cats and kids; she tolerates our dogs, but isn’t the biggest fan. If she joins a family with cats, she will tend towards being dominant. Mama Tao is the most beautiful and sweet addition to a family and can’t wait to join yours.July 17, 2026, 4:38 pm

Story
Meet Burrito, an adorable all-white cat with a few black spots and the sweetest personality. She’ll be 1 year old in September and is truly a wonderful companion. She is: • Very friendly and affectionate • Great with kids • Gets along well with other cats • Loves to play, but also enjoys cuddling and relaxing • Loves sitting in windows watching the world go by We aren’t sure how she does with dogs, as she hasn’t been around them. Burrito’s story is a little unexpected. We originally agreed to temporarily care for her after someone with a litter of kittens couldn’t keep her. She was supposed to be picked up by someone who lived out of town, but they were never able to come get her. Since then, she’s become part of our family alongside our other cat. Unfortunately, we’re moving and can only take one cat with us, so we’re looking for a loving home for Burrito as soon as possible. We really don’t want to take her to a shelter.

Story
These two lovely Tabbico kittens were trapped from a feral colony in Cape Hatteras, NC. Coyotes killed their mother and litter mates. They are now about 11 weeks old and are very calm and sweet. They love to play and after they get to know you, are very affectionate. Both like to hang out on my computer desk while I work. They were only trapped a week ago and came to me very shy. But they are growing out of that shyness just fine and I am sure that they will make very good companions. They get along with the other kittens and I think they can adjust to about any household situation. It would be ideal to adopt them out as a pair but that is not written in stone. Our goal is to find them both good loving homes. They have had their distemper shot and booster and been treated for fleas and worms. They are in great heath and fully litter boxed trained.

Story
Felipe's Personality DOB: 2/2025 Felipe is a young, friendly, and playful grey and white tabby. He has cute black toe beans and looks like he’s wearing black lipstick and eyeliner! He LOVES other cats and needs a cat buddy in his forever home. In Felipe’s typical day, he engages one of his two foster “brothers” in chase-and-wrestle games until his brother wears out! Felipe is respectful of his older foster “brother,” who sometimes tries to show Felipe who is “boss.” Felipe loves to play in his “cat tunnel” and chase a toy on a fishing pole. He enjoys pouncing and wrestling with your hand that’s hidden under a blanket. He also likes to hide behind a bedspread and ambush you playfully as you walk past. When playtime is done, Felipe likes to watch the wildlife outside his sunroom window and nap there. Felipe is not shy one bit and settled into is foster home quickly. Never hiding and wanting to explore. He has a quiet meow and rarely speaks. In foster care, he is becoming more affectionate. When first rescued, Felipe was comfortable being petted only when eating. But more and more, he enjoys petting and is getting use to being picked up for short periods of time. His foster mom is confident he will become a true love bug in the right loving home. Type of Home Felipe Needs Felipe is a young, strong cat who needs an experienced cat caretaker who wants to play with him for about an hour a day and is patient about letting him learn to enjoy more affection. He needs another young male cat in his forever home to bond and play with. He may do ok with an older cat-savvy child (12 years or older) who plays with him. No younger children now or in the future. Where Felipe Came From Felipe was found outdoors by a kind family with 3 cats and 2 dogs of their own. They would have loved to keep him but with an already full household, they cared for him until he was transferred to SPCA’s care.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
Bella’s Personality DOB: 6/2018 Bella is a gorgeous tabby/tortoiseshell mix with bright orange colors and stunning yellow eyes. She's a very social, affectionate, playful and talkative kitty full of personality! What’s not to fall in love with? Be prepared for a cat who loves to hangout and keep her family company. Bella does well when left home alone, but really enjoys being around people. She is very easy going and even allows nail trims. Bella loves a good snuggle and tons of petting - she greets you when you come home and has never met a stranger she didn't like! She's not easily spooked and actually enjoys guests because this means extra petting for her. Bella enjoys interactive playtime - especially chasing string toys and batting toys around. She likes to sleep on the bed with you and is usually found curled in a little ball at the foot of the bed. What Type of Home Bella Needs Bella needs a home where she gets plenty of people time. She enjoys interactive play as much as napping. She's an ideal companion for people who want an engaging cat. We haven't seen her interact with kids but she would likely do fine with kids who know how to interact with cats as she is extremely gentle. Bella would do well in a home with or without another friendly cat with a compatible activity level. She previously lived with another cat for years and we understand she wanted to engage in play although the other cat wasn’t interested. Where Bella Came From Bella was loved and very well cared for in her previous home. She was surrendered because her caretaker unfortunately became too ill to care for her.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
Lily's Personality DOB: 11/2025 Lily is an adorable dilute calico - with plenty of grey and peach patches of color on a white coat. This girl is friendly, curious and bold. She doesn't have a care in the world. She enters a new home with new people and is immediately curious. After she is satisfied that her new space is to her liking, she is ready for playtime then lots of cuddles. She easily climbs into your lap when she wants some affection. And sleeps by your side at night. What Type of Home Lily Needs Lily thrives on playtime and interaction with people. So she needs a home where people are around to give her plenty of interactive play and attention. A home with older kids would be great. We have not seen Lily interact with other cats but are confident she would thrive in a home with another young, playful female cat. Where Lily Came From Lily came from a loving home with a family that suddenly lost their home. A family member took them in but couldn't accommodate Lily since other family members are allergic to cats. So this sweet girl suddenly found herself in need of a new home. Safe in SPCA's care, we will make sure she finds another loving home.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
