Story
Hi my name is Canvas.  When I am put in an unusual or stressful situation I do my best to blend into the canvas!  I am a sweet little girl though and I bounce back quickly.  I am really a home body and would love a quite home where I can hang out with my family.  I will be fine as an only kitty but would also do well with other kitties.  I am being fostered with my 5 brothers and sisters so other kitties are definitely fine.  No doggies though.  I don't like them and I growl and hiss at them.  It is because I am scared and they are too big (even if it is a smaller dog).  I guess I am just not a 'dog kitty'.  When I am hanging out with my foster mom I love to run up against her and my little motor just starts going.  If you are looking for a little purr machine would loves to cuddle and be with you, then you have found her.  A nice quiet home where we can spend time on the couch watching TV would be purrfect for me.  You won't be sorry when you add me to your family.  I am totally vetted and ready to go to my forever home.  If you would like to be considered for my forever home, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE RERQUIRED.  (I am currently in Tennesee but can be transported north upon adoption.)      January 8, 2026, 12:15 pm

Story
Neytiri is a stunning young calico whose beauty runs far deeper than her brilliant patchwork coat. Weighing just 7 pounds, she carries herself with the grace of a feline queen and the quiet wisdom of an old soul. Her gentle nature has a way of soothing those around her—be they human or fellow feline. Recently, Neytiri stepped into motherhood for the very first time, embracing it with extraordinary love and grace. She’s been a fiercely attentive mama: calm, nurturing, and endlessly patient. Watching her care for her kittens is a moving testament to the strength and tenderness that defines her. But motherhood hasn’t dulled her playful spirit. Neytiri still delights in the simple joys of life—chasing after a ribbon, curling up in a sunbeam, or gently nudging her favorite toy across the floor. She’s affectionate without being demanding, wise yet curious, and always quietly attuned to the world around her.   Whether she’s snuggled beside you or softly purring from across the room, Neytiri has a way of bringing peace, comfort, and a little extra magic wherever she goes. She’s not just a cat—she’s a companion, a nurturer, and a soulful presence ready to make a house feel like home. ccrnewengland@gmail.com Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 2, 2025, 12:55 pm

Story
Casey is an absolutely gorgeous calico cat, her vibrant tri&#226&#128&#145colored coat as charming and unique as her sweet soul—each patch reflecting the one-of-a-kind companion she is. Abandoned in rural Tennessee with her kittens, Casey never lost her sparkle; she knows she's special, and she’s ready to show it. This playful young adult brings joy with her adorable floor-rolling antics designed to capture your attention, then transitions seamlessly into a devoted snuggle partner, padding into bed for cozy nighttime purrs that feel like pure love. Beyond her affectionate nature, Casey embodies that legendary calico 'cattitude'—a delightful mix of independence, spirited charm, and affectionate loyalty that makes her both entertaining and deeply connected to those she trusts. Fully litter-trained and confident, she would flourish as the only cat in your home or as a serene, wise friend to a young kitten. If you're searching for a cat filled with warmth, humor, and color—both in coat and character—Casey is ready to make your life brighter and more loving. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com for more information. Why Casey’s Calico Traits Shine Bright: Independent yet loving: Calico cats are often described as affectionate and loyal, while also valuing their independence—a balance Casey embraces beautifully.  Playful quirks and spirit: Known for their energetic, quirky nature—sometimes lovingly called “tortitude”—calicos like Casey are full of playful energy that keeps life lively.  Unique, one-of-a-kind charm: Just like every calico’s coat is uniquely patterned, their personalities often stand out too, each distinct and full of character.  September 17, 2025, 12:02 am

Philomenia loves humans and will shower you with affection. She loves to wind in and out of your legs..  Philomenia also enjoys having a human companion to watch her eat (it's a perfect meal mate date, but you have to cover the bill).  She loves to play with toys and will sit beside you for a short time—just make sure not to rub her flanks. Like most cats, she loves treats, and she enjoys sitting on the back of the sofa gazing out the window.  This is the purrfect spot to watch the birds.  You'll often find her waiting patiently outside the bathroom door, respecting your privacy.  Philomenia definitely values her 'me time,' so she would thrive best in a home as the only pet.  This beautiful lady is ready for her forever home.  We hope it will be with you.  To be consisdered for her forever family please contact Critter Cavalry at crittercavalry@comcast.net or text 615-943-7311.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.    December 20, 2025, 12:12 am

Story
Bluey's Personality Have you been searching for a friendly, active, curious and loving cat to fill your life with purrs and kisses!?! Meet Bluey - a handsome blue-grey cat with emerald eyes that will melt your heart. This boy barely skips a beat - he loves to explore, romp around and investigate just about everything. Bluey is always happy to see you when you return home - he displays his happiness with meowing and purring. He is also a master of cuddles, always ready to curl up next to you for as long as you want.  Bluey can be a bit vocal when he wants to play or eat and can be demanding in the cutest way about what he wants! Never a dull moment with Bluey around. He likes to tell you what's on his mind and entice you to play with him. He's fond of batting toys around and thrives on interactive play with is foster parents. They have created a fun game of hide and seek that really gets Bluey going! Did we mention he loves chin scratches, being brushed and genuinely adores attention? He returns the love twofold with being the best companion ever! What Type of Home Bluey Needs Bluey needs an active home with more than one person and room to roam around. He's a young male with lots of energy. This means he needs people who are around to play and interact with him. A home with a family with an older child or two would be ideal. Or a home with a couple where at least one person works from home. He will not do well in a single person home in a small apartment. Where Bluey Came From Bluey was a stray kitty being fed outdoors for months by a kind person. After living on the streets, Bluey is very happy to now be an indoor-only kitty.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
Luna's Personality Luna is a very friendly, inquisitive, and confident kitty. Despite his name, Luna is a BOY! When he was a kitten, his family thought he was a girl so they named the kitten Luna. He knows his name so we haven't changed it. Luna is very social and enjoys being petted. He loves hanging out with his foster family and interacting with people. Luna can be quite talkative so be prepared to have conversations with him! Luna is a confident kitty but, like most cats, will need a few days to settle into a new home. He's not shy and doesn't hide, but may be a bit vocal! He has learned the joy of playing with cat toys, and especially likes having a drawer or box full of toys that he can rummage through and decide what to play with next. Luna also LOVES to hop inside a box or a paper bag. Luna loves to find adventures and enjoys having plenty of places to play "hide and seek." He is very intelligent so odds are he would enjoy cat puzzles! What Type of Home Luna Needs Luna needs a home where he has plenty of room to roam around. He is used to living in a single family home with multiple people, including children. He needs a home with more than one person. A family with older kids (over 12 yrs of age) who are cat savvy would be fine, but no young children. He can get a little 'mouthy' when he plays so we are teaching him some manners. We don't know how he would be with other cats or dogs, so we are seeking a home with no other pets. Where Luna Came From Luna came from a loving home that was no longer able to care for him. So they contacted their neighborhood "cat lady" who happens to be an SPCA NOVA volunteer to ask for help finding Luna a new home.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
&#239&#187&#191&#239&#187&#191Celeste's Personality  Celeste may remind you of a pup the way she wants to sniff your hand before letting you pet her. It’s probably to see if you have a treat for her! When you’re sleeping, she may crawl up on your pillow to lull you to sleep with her purrs. And she purrs a lot. Very loud and very often. Celeste is happiest when she is chasing her laser pointer, taking a nap in the sun shining through a window, or hanging out with her foster parents. This chunky charmer likes to be close by and follows you from room to room. This “heavenly” girl is super sweet. She is also a bit shy and will take a little time to warm up, but once she does, Celeste is a delightfully soft mush of a cat. Then she’ll be looking for pets as she sits on top of her cat tree. And give her a bit of catnip and she’ll be rolling over for a bunch of belly rubs. We love her sassy way of telling us what she wants. This girl is a talker…when she wants something, she will let you know. It’s all friendly talk, and very hard to resist. We find that she also likes to watch a little TV…so far tennis has been her favorite! She’ll perk up and watch the TV screen from next to you on the couch or her cat tree. It’s really cute. Between the catnip, the treats and her tree, she happily spends the day with you. Keeping an eye on your comings and goings. You’ll enjoy her gentle and endearing company. What Type of Home Celeste Needs  Celeste needs a peaceful home with an experienced cat caretaker who understands that she will need a little time to adapt. She would be fine with a quiet, older cat-savvy child. Celeste would do best as the only cat in her home unless she stays with her sister, Nova (posted separately). They do fine together but don't interact much because they have different personalities and needs.  Celeste is on a very strict calorie and portion-controlled over-the-counter canned food diet. Her caretakers need to be committed to sticking with her strict weight management plan with monthly weight checks. We will supply a pet scale to keep her on track. Where Celeste Came From  Celeste, and her sister, Nova, were adopted out as kittens to what we thought was a wonderful home. Sadly, their caretakers decided, just shy of their 8th birthdays, they didn’t want them anymore. However, based on their neglectful condition, this has turned out to be a good thing even though this upheaval has been hard on Celeste. Both girls appear healthy despite being very overweight. Getting the girls to a healthy weight of about 12 lbs each will take time but will ensure better health and longer lives. PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Please see our adoption guidelines at  https://spcanova.org/about-us/adoption-policies/. September 30, 2025, 10:05 am
