Story
Mama Tao is a gorgeous and petite dilute calico female. She was found as a pregnant stray on the streets of Nashville, but acts like she’s been indoors her whole life. She enjoys looking out the window, scratching her cardboard scratching post, and lounging near people in gorgeous poses. Mama Tao is estimated to be 1-2 years old and still loves being picked up and carried around like a baby. She hasn’t figured out playing yet, though. She is litter trained and gets along with other cats and kids; she tolerates our dogs, but isn’t the biggest fan. If she joins a family with cats, she will tend towards being dominant. Mama Tao is the most beautiful and sweet addition to a family and can’t wait to join yours.August 6, 2026, 8:39 pm

Story
Meet Burrito, an adorable all-white cat with a few black spots and the sweetest personality. She’ll be 1 year old in September and is truly a wonderful companion. She is: • Very friendly and affectionate • Great with kids • Gets along well with other cats • Loves to play, but also enjoys cuddling and relaxing • Loves sitting in windows watching the world go by We aren’t sure how she does with dogs, as she hasn’t been around them. Burrito’s story is a little unexpected. We originally agreed to temporarily care for her after someone with a litter of kittens couldn’t keep her. She was supposed to be picked up by someone who lived out of town, but they were never able to come get her. Since then, she’s become part of our family alongside our other cat. Unfortunately, we’re moving and can only take one cat with us, so we’re looking for a loving home for Burrito as soon as possible. We really don’t want to take her to a shelter.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Auriel.  I was rescued in Iraq by people working there. Once a normal kitty, I sadly sustained electrical burns which took my ear and injured my paw.   Luckily, with great vet care I recovered totally and they tell me I’m the sweetest girl ever.  My rescuers arranged for me to come to KSC along with Nimbus.  Through all that I’ve gone through, I still trust in people and I love attention and pets.  I love playing with the fun toys here - the “mice” are great!  I will make a wonderful kitty companion to you in a safe and happy home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. August 6, 2026, 9:24 pm

Story
These two lovely Tabbico kittens were trapped from a feral colony in Cape Hatteras, NC. Coyotes killed their mother and litter mates. They are now about 11 weeks old and are very calm and sweet. They love to play and after they get to know you, are very affectionate. Both like to hang out on my computer desk while I work. They were only trapped a week ago and came to me very shy. But they are growing out of that shyness just fine and I am sure that they will make very good companions. They get along with the other kittens and I think they can adjust to about any household situation. It would be ideal to adopt them out as a pair but that is not written in stone. Our goal is to find them both good loving homes. They have had their distemper shot and booster and been treated for fleas and worms. They are in great heath and fully litter boxed trained.

These cats are in Arlington, Virginia too!

Note: Tigress and Pantera need a loving foster home ASAP. Tigress and Pandera These sisters are friendly, loving and playful. They were born into a loving home where they are use to being around a family with kids. They are very social and love being with people. Tigress (brown tabby) is a cute tiger striped girl. She is friendly and bold and loves being around people. Pantera (black) is a little panther. She loves playing and stalking her toys. She is also loving and playful. Foster Home Needed These girls were born into a loving home where their family has asked for help finding them a home together. Their siblings already have homes and the mom cat has now been spayed. SPCA would like to bring these sisters into our care but we can't do this unless we have a foster home to care for them. Their vet care has not yet been started. Note: If you would like to consider fostering them, please send an email to spcanova@aol.com or fill out the cat foster application at https://spcanova.org/cats/foster-a-cat/cat-foster-application/. PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
Felipe's Personality DOB: 2/2025 Felipe is a young, friendly, and playful grey and white tabby. He has cute black toe beans and looks like he’s wearing black lipstick and eyeliner! He LOVES other cats and needs a cat buddy in his forever home. In Felipe’s typical day, he engages one of his two foster “brothers” in chase-and-wrestle games until his brother wears out! Felipe is respectful of his older foster “brother,” who sometimes tries to show Felipe who is “boss.” Felipe loves to play in his “cat tunnel” and chase a toy on a fishing pole. He enjoys pouncing and wrestling with your hand that’s hidden under a blanket. He also likes to hide behind a bedspread and ambush you playfully as you walk past. When playtime is done, Felipe likes to watch the wildlife outside his sunroom window and nap there. Felipe is not shy one bit and settled into is foster home quickly. Never hiding and wanting to explore. He has a quiet meow and rarely speaks. In foster care, he is becoming more affectionate. When first rescued, Felipe was comfortable being petted only when eating. But more and more, he enjoys petting and is getting use to being picked up for short periods of time. His foster mom is confident he will become a true love bug in the right loving home. Type of Home Felipe Needs Felipe is a young, strong cat who needs an experienced cat caretaker who wants to play with him for about an hour a day and is patient about letting him learn to enjoy more affection. He needs another young male cat in his forever home to bond and play with. He may do ok with an older cat-savvy child (12 years or older) who plays with him. No younger children now or in the future. Where Felipe Came From Felipe was found outdoors by a kind family with 3 cats and 2 dogs of their own. They would have loved to keep him but with an already full household, they cared for him until he was transferred to SPCA’s care.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Story
Mango's Personality DOB: 1/1/26 Mango is a very handsome orange tabby with an adorable white bib and socks and big green eyes. He is a sweet, fairly mellow guy who just wants to be loved. Mango trots over to greet everyone who comes his way, stranger or not. He’s also a cuddler and is happy to settle in for a nap on a warm lap (or chest if you’re horizontal). He likes being carried around and is quick to purr. Mango enjoys being petted, but like many cats, lets you know when he has had enough. The same goes with playing. He chases a mouse on a string for a while or bats a ball around the floor with you, but then walks away like he has better things to do! Mango loves his cat tree and spends hours on the top perch napping or looking out the window. He also loves running water and likes to stand outside the bathroom to let you know he wants in - so he can jump up on the counter and drink while not caring that he is immersing his head in the water getting soaking wet! What Type of Home Mango Needs Mango needs a home with multiple people who are available to hang out with him. He is not demanding, but likes to be near people. We have not seen him interact with other cats but like most young male cats, he would likely thrive with a like-minded male kitty to bond and play with. Mango can gently nip or grab when letting you know he has had enough petting or playing, so he would do fine with cat-savvy older kids, but not a home with young children now or in the future.  Where Mango Came From Mango was a stray kitty who was trying to get inside an office building when a kind woman encountered him outdoors. Of course, this kitty - only about 6 months old - had no business being outdoors. She brought him indoors for safekeeping and when nobody claimed him, he was transferred to SPCA's care.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
