Story
Nya is almost seven years old. She was adopted from a veterinarian's office in Georgia. She has lived with her sister (Nelly, also up for adoption) since birth. She has been an indoor cat all her life. Nya is very calm. Very owner-oriented. Not the most playful but very snuggly and purr-y with her owner. Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to care for Nya and her sister and to give them the attention they deserve. I am looking for a loving person to welcome Nya into their life.

Story
Nelly is almost seven years old. She was adopted from a veterinarian's office in Georgia. She has lived with her sister (Nya, also up for adoption) since birth. She has been an indoor cat all her life. Nelly is very playful. She sometimes gets the "zoomies." She loves to be close to people, will lay by your feet, but is not much of a lap cat. She is calm and curious with new people. Very sweet with kids. Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to care for Nelly and her sister and to give them the attention they deserve. I am looking for a loving person to welcome Nelly into their life.

Story
Lady Marmalade is done with kitten duty and is ready to be loved and spoiled for the beauty she is.  She's sweet and affectionate with a little bit of spice.  She's not a lap cat yet but she will be when she trusts you.  Quiet and well-behaved and uses her litter like a champ. Unfortunately spent some time outside so she will have to be watched until she feels at home.  Probably not suitable for small children. Indoor cat only. The adoption fee is $25. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, PVR, Rabies, flea, tick, ear mite and worm treatment. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: https://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/cat-adoption-application/ We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.  May 4, 2025, 2:41 pm

Story
RAVEN PAW - (kitten)       (**BONDED WITH STAR**) Male 3 months old Domestic short-hair 2.5 lbs. Raven Paw was born to mom, Star, in the local shelter. He was one of only two kittens who survived being born in the shelter over the holidays. Little Raven is momma Star’s special boy. He doesn’t like to be alone and will cry if either his momma or brother aren’t in range of sight. He is the gentlest kitten his foster mom ever saw! He plays entirely with sheathed claws and stands up on his back legs very often as he plays. He isn’t the most graceful of kittens but he makes up for it in sweetness. And he’s quite charming and dapper with his little goatee and beard! Originally, he was the adventurer and was climbing before he could even walk well. Now he loves to snuggle on his foster family's laps while they relax and read. He loves playing with teaser toys, pouncing on imaginary greebles, eating lots of food, pouncing on his water dish, climbing as high as he can go and sleeping with momma! Raven is the most gentle, playful, goofy and snuggly kitten ready for his own home! Please note that kittens under 4 months old must be adopted in pairs for socialization purposes, unless there's already a cat in the adoptive home. Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Story
Name: Rosalind Franklin Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 2 years old (as of 3/1/25) Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Mix Weight: About 8 pounds Good With: People, dogs, and other cats and kittens! Story: Rosalind is an adorable Domestic Short Hair Mix cat, who came to us from a shelter in North Carolina. We are just not sure how she ended up in there, but we are so happy to have her with us now in a foster home! Rosalind is a happy and sweet young cat. She spends her days playing with her foster family and chasing all the fun toys they have. When she’s done it’s nap time or cuddling with her humans! What my foster says: Rosalind is very curious, sweet, and affectionate. She loves to take naps with you and will headbutt you for chin scratches, which get her purring loud. She can also be active and playful, and especially enjoys playing with her feather string toy. She has no problems using the litter box and is ok to stay home alone for a few hours.  The fee to adopt Rosalind is $200 ($325 for two kittens). This covers the cost of vaccines appropriate for her age, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. Rosalind has been seen by a shelter vet (or other vet) and we are not aware of any health issues. Are you ready to give Rosalind the love and attention she deserves? If so, apply today!   March 12, 2025, 11:49 am
