BOSA is still learning to walk on leash, and he does jump and pull, because he is just a puppy in a giant's body. He doesn't know "sit" yet but one volunteer discovered that if you gently rub the big guy from the back of his neck all the way down his back to his tailbone, he will sit for you, (almost) every time. BOSA will require an adopter with plenty of breed and training experience, because he's a sweet boy, but he's also a powerful breed. He needs a patient, confident, and active home that will dedicate time to positive-reinforcement training to help him channel his big puppy energy into becoming a well-mannered gentleman.But for today, BOSA just wanted to say, hello! Meet spike. He's a 2 year old cane corso. Very sweet boy. He was my son's dog but due to circumstances he moved in with me. Our yard is too small for him. Spike was raised around 2 infants that are now also 2 years old. Raised with a 7 year old boy, a pomeranian and a cat. Never had any problems with him. Walks on a leash really well. Looking for someone that has at least a yard big enough for him. He's a indoor outdoor dog that likes the outdoors but he prefers to be around humans. He's located in napa california

German Shepherd / Cane Corso Mix Age: 1 yrs old Female, Spayed 65 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Stella was surrendered to the Oakland SPCA as a 3 month old puppy with her 3 litter mates. She was the runt of the litter and suffered from panosteitis (a condition affecting large breed puppies, known also as “growing pains”). Her littler mates were either adopted or pulled by other rescue groups. Eventually, Stella was adopted out multiple times and returned (for nothing that she actually did - the shelter just didn’t do a good job of screening potential applicants). She became very restless and stressed out basically growing up in shelter kennel. The shelter decided to euthanize her. We were contacted by someone who wanted to save her. Given her mix of German Shepherd and Cone Corso, and being bounced around to multiple homes and shelter before ever reaching the age of 1 years old. she has some challenges - some insecurities, leash reactivity, protectiveness, etc. She will need an adopter experienced with these behaviors. She is great with other dogs, easily trainable and is very loyal to her family. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. German Shepherd / Cane Corso Mix Age: 1 yrs old Female, Spayed 60 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Allie was found as a stray in the Sacramento area. While in the shelter she displayed some intermittent lameness on various limbs. Our vet diagnosed her with immune mediated polyarthritis (IMPA), which is the canine version of rheumatoid arthritis in humans. Similar to humans, Allie will be prone to periodic “flare-ups” which will need to be treated with anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs for mild flare-ups or corticosteroids for more intensive episodes). Given her mix of German Shepherd and Cone Corso, she will need an adopter experienced with leash/barrier reactivity and protectiveness . She is great with other dogs - loves to play, easily trainable and is very loyal and loving with her family.
