NOTE:Submit the adoption interest application directly at our HSNB website:https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-applicationWe may not receive anything submitted through PetFinder or Adopt-A-Pet! If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org .-----Meet BOSA! ❤️ What a love! BOSA is a 1 1/2 year old Cane Corso with a lot of energy and a mind for curiosity. BOSA is still learning to walk on leash, and he does jump and pull, because he is just a puppy in a giant's body. He doesn't know "sit" yet but one volunteer discovered that if you gently rub the big guy from the back of his neck all the way down his back to his tailbone, he will sit for you, (almost) every time. BOSA will require an adopter with plenty of breed and training experience, because he's a sweet boy, but he's also a powerful breed. He needs a patient, confident, and active home that will dedicate time to positive-reinforcement training to help him channel his big puppy energy into becoming a well-mannered gentleman.Because BOSA is so new to the shelter, we will add more details as we get to know him better. But for today, BOSA just wanted to say, hello! Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 70 Age: 1yrs 4mths 3wks

Story
Meet Murdock: Your Future Gentle Giant and Loyal Companion Are you searching for a big-hearted, extra-large friend with a soft, wrinkly face and an even softer personality? Murdock, a 7-year-old Cane Corso mix tipping the scales at around 120 pounds, is ready to bring his gentle, goofy spirit into your home! A Day in the Life of Murdock Murdock’s favorite activities include “supervising” his people, basking in the sun, enjoying tasty treats (he’s a fan of both fruits and veggies!), and going for walks. He still has a playful, puppy-like energy and loves to romp around. He’s a sensitive soul, deeply attuned to his humans and eager to please, which makes training both fun and rewarding for everyone involved. Well-Mannered and Eager to Learn Murdock is housetrained, uses a dog door, and has earned full house privileges thanks to his excellent manners when left alone. He’s never mistaken human belongings for toys and is very food-motivated, making him a quick study—he already knows commands like “sit”, “shake”, “down”, “up”, “stay”, “wait”, “off”, “leave it”, “drop it”, “touch”, “settle”, and “heel”. He’ll even wait patiently with a treat on his paws until you give the ok! Active and Handsome Murdock enjoys about an hour of enrichment each day, including daily 2-mile walks up and down San Francisco’s hills. He’s never failed to turn heads—people can’t help but stop and admire his striking looks. Social and Playful, With a Big Personality While Murdock has made many new human friends, he does best with calm, thoughtful introductions due to his exuberant play style. He’s had a blast with a large female dog, showing he can be a great companion for other big dogs after slow, proper introductions. Murdock loves to play rough but is respectful when his playmates need a break. A Loyal Guardian True to his mastiff roots, Murdock is loyal and protective. In high-energy or new situations, he can get excited or nervous, sometimes expressing this with jumping, nibbling or biting. His foster family is helping him learn better ways to channel his excitement, and he’s been muzzle-trained to ensure that new introductions are safe and stress-free for everyone. Looking for His Perfect Match Because of his size and strength, Murdock is best suited for an adult-only home with experience handling large breeds. He’ll thrive with adopters who are committed to continuing his positive training and providing the structure he needs to be his best self. If you’re ready to welcome a loving, loyal, and truly unforgettable companion into your life, Murdock would love to meet you. Fill out an application today, and a volunteer will be in touch to help you get to know this wonderful “hunk of love”! (HD)
