Story
Wednesday is currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we'll arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Wednesday. Meet Wednesday! Wednesday and her brother Pugsley were found roaming as strays at a local public school. They both were crossing a busy street and teachers were worried they would get hit by a car. One of the teachers reached out to us for help with getting the 2 off the streets and we were able to take them both in. Wednesday is now in a loving foster home and is flourishing, but she's ready for her forever home! Wednesday is estimated to be about 6 months old (as of 12/13/25) and is fully vaccinated and microchipped. She'll be spayed between 6 months - 1 year of age. Wednesday is a shepherd mix and currently weighs 30 pounds. We do anticipate she will grow to be a medium - large sized pup once she's fully grown. Breed, age & estimated weight are all based off of our vet's best estimate since we don't have any parents to go off of. Wednesday is dog friendly and currently lives with other dogs in her foster home. She enjoys running and playing with her doggie foster siblings. She's young and still has some puppy energy, but her foster mom also describes her as a couch potato who enjoys cuddles on the couch with her human. Wednesday is also cat friendly and currently lives with cats in her foster home. Her foster mom describes her as very calm and says that Wednesday is fine with the cats and doesn't really pay any attention to them. Wednesday is kid friendly and has been around children ages 2 and 8 and she is so sweet and gentle with everyone. Wednesday is potty and crate trained and does well in her crate! She stays in there while her foster mom is away from home for work or errands. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom at night time and is such a good girl. She curls up in bed and sleeps all through the night. Wednesday is still a young pup, so she's still learning to walk on a leash, but she's such a smart girl and a quick learner! Wednesday is great in the car and just sits back and enjoys the ride! Here's a small blurb about Wednesday from her foster mom: Wednesday is the sweetest girl and deserves the best home! She enjoys the company of her human and doggie companions and loves being near you and spending time with you. She's very patient with little kiddos and doesn't pay attention to the cats. She is gentle, sweet and cuddly. She's the perfect companion to take out to a coffee shop and just have her sit at your feet. She truly doesn't know a stranger! We've taken her to multiple events and she loves meeting new people and getting cuddles. She'll make the perfect addition to any loving family! Snowby's nickname is Snowball. He does a little twirl when going out for a walk. He gets along with most dogs so proper introduction is a must. He is very loyal and loving. He loves to run around with his doggie friends. He loves to sleep next his person(s). He would be be best suited to a household without young children. He is a great walking and car companion. He likes to be part of whatever activity is happening. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He is ideal for house or apartment living due to his smaller size. Hi, I'm Ronnie! I'm a playful, fun-loving dog who loves to be around others. I get along well with most dogs once properly introduced and have lived with cats - I love to bark and chase them in a friendly, playful way. I enjoy kids too and always try to be gentle when playing. I can have fun with all kinds of toys (and even things that aren't toys!). I'm potty-trained, know my basic commands, walk nicely on a leash, and enjoy car rides. If you're looking for a lively, loving companion, I'd love to meet you! This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. Arrives next week in WA Autumn is a very mature and sweet female dog…maybe a Carolina Dog with a mix of Redbone Coon Hound…only DNA will tell. DOB: 11/21/21 (about 4 yrs old) and now weighs 48#s. She has totally blossomed since she’s been in foster. She loves people and plays well with other dogs. She is also good with cats!!! Her luxurious red coat, chocolate brown eyes and perfect perky ears are just endearing to your senses and heart. She can be a COUCH POTATO…loves those restful times and calm moments on the couch with her head on your lap. She enjoys gentle pets and soft hands; but, also loves to play! Rope toys, balls and squeaky toys are her favorites! She Likes her stuffed toys. She ADORES her own doggie bed, and a soft blanket on her bed. She is leash trained; kennel trained; and house trained. She will be good with respectful children. We have no small children in which to test her but she has a great, calm temperament. She is a great dog. FOSTER’S COMMENTS: How does her day go? She enjoys a steady routine, but doesn’t mind some change up. She likes to go for strolls, and loves to play with her dog friends once she knows them! She is vocal when playing with dog friends. She’s not a fence jumper nor an escape artist. Just a little adventurous. This will make her great for the person that likes to hike and take trips. She basically ignores cats. Would be ok with respectful children,6 and up. Ok in an apartment if taken for a stroll twice daily. She prefers to free roam the home, but is kennel trained and is not destructive if roaming. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Tawny is a delightful Carolina Dog mix with a heart full of love and an adventurous spirit. There’s nothing she enjoys more than being with her family, making her the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal and affectionate pup. Whether she’s lounging in the sun, playing in the yard, or going on an outdoor adventure, Tawny is always happiest when she’s by your side. This sweet girl rides well in the car and is fantastic on a leash, making her an excellent travel and walking buddy. She absolutely loves water, so if you enjoy hiking, camping, or trips to the lake, Tawny will be right there, ready to join in on the fun. Her favorite backyard pasttime - playing a good game of fetch! She gets along wonderfully with all dogs, making her a great addition to a multi-dog household. She would fit right in with a dog that wants to play. She does have a habit of jumping when excited, so a home without toddlers would be best. She has met cats and hasn't tried to chase. Tawny is very affectionate and thrives on attention and affection. She is still working on her potty training but is making great progress in her foster home. With consistency and patience, she will continue to improve. She is content in a kennel but prefers to be around her family on the couch or bed! Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Tawny is looking for a forever home where she can be part of an active and loving family. Her adoption fee is $250 for in-state adopters and an additional $300 for out-of-state transport. If you’re searching for a playful, adventurous, and affectionate companion, Tawny is ready to be your best friend! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
🏠 Currently  in a Vancouver foster home Hi, I’m Tanya 🤍 Let me tell you my story as I wait for my forever family. I was rescued from a shelter where euthanasia was imminent. With only a short time left, a miracle happened—and I was given a second chance at life. The bright, affectionate dog you see today exists because of that precious second miracle. I’m a loving girl who truly enjoys being close to people. I’m curious, cheerful, and full of warmth. When I get excited, I have short bursts of playful “zoomies,” but overall I have a calm and well-balanced energy. I have a pretty regular potty routine—about three times a day (around 8 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.). I can do both indoor and outdoor potty, and I usually use pads in my resting area. I’m not perfect yet, so a little continued potty training would help me shine even more. I eat twice a day and have been enjoying Royal Canin Medium kibble mixed with fresh Duet meals. I have a great appetite and love treats of all kinds! Because I do love food a bit too much, it’s best to keep human food safely out of reach. I’m very cooperative when it comes to grooming. I tolerate paw cleaning after walks, tooth brushing, baths, and even drying—none of them are my favorite, but I stay calm and patient. Nail trims have been done at the vet so far. I’m friendly and social with dogs of all sizes and get along well in group settings. On walks, I might pull a little if I see cats or big birds out of curiosity, but I haven’t shown any aggression toward cats. I bond deeply with my person and love staying close—I even prefer sleeping together. With strangers, I tend to warm up faster to women than men, but once I feel safe, my affection comes through. I walk nicely on leash with little pulling, though I sometimes circle around my person, so a shorter leash helps with control. I’m comfortable wearing both a collar and a harness. Stairs going down are still tricky for me, so I need to be carried, but going up is no problem at all. I love toys, especially squeaky ones—they’re my absolute favorite! I don’t have separation anxiety and can spend time alone calmly and confidently. I love human warmth. I understand the joy of living together. Once so close to the end, I’m now waiting for a family to share my whole life with. Will you be my forever family? 🐾

Story
🏠 Currently in a Seattle foster home 🧡 Hi, I'm Milo 🧡 Age: 1 year Breed: Jindo-Shiba Mix Sex: Male Weight: 8kg (just under 18 lbs) I may be fully grown, but I’m a little guy with a big heart—and I’m ready to fill your home with love, one pawstep at a time. People say I look like a little teddy bear, with my soft brown fur and round eyes that are always full of curiosity. I’m small, sweet, and full of quiet charm. You might never guess it from my gentle looks, but I’ve already been through a lot in my short life. I was once on a euthanasia list… but I was saved just in time. Since then, I’ve only known shelter life. A real home? I’ve never had one. But I’m hoping that’s about to change—with you. Because I’ve never lived in a house, I haven’t learned all the rules yet—especially when it comes to potty training. I’m not used to going inside or outside properly, so I’ll need your help learning a routine from scratch. If you gently guide me to the same spot after meals, naps, and playtime—and reward me with yummy treats when I get it right—I’ll catch on quickly. If I make mistakes, please don’t scold me. Just quietly clean up and help me try again. I really want to learn! At first, I might be a little unsure around new people. I don’t trust easily, but not because I don’t want to—it’s just that I’ve never really known what it means to feel safe. That said, I’m very curious, and I love food (especially treats from your hand!). Give me a bit of time, and you’ll see me coming over on my own, asking for pets and showing you my soft, cuddly side. Sometimes sudden movements or unfamiliar touches might startle me, so it’s best to approach slowly at first—low posture, calm energy, and of course… snacks! With your patience and kindness, I’ll learn that hands mean love, not fear. When it’s time for walks, I do best with a chest harness and a backup leash for safety—two points of security, just in case. Quiet streets are my favorite for now. With gentle exposure and encouragement, I’ll slowly grow more confident exploring the world by your side. I know I’m not perfect. I still have so much to learn. But now is the perfect time to teach me. I’m young, open-hearted, and so eager to bond. With love, patience, and a calm guiding hand, I’ll grow into a polite, loyal companion who brings joy to your everyday life. I’ve lived my life behind shelter walls—but I’m ready to trade that for warm beds, gentle walks, and a forever family to call my own. Could that family be you? With hope in my eyes and love in my little heart, Milo 🐾

Story
Hi, my name is Haerang 🐾 I’m a 3-year-old male Shiba–Welsh mix, weighing about 7kg. I have a slim body, short little legs, and bright, sparkling eyes that people often fall in love with right away. I was rescued from a shelter where euthanasia was taking place. Before that, I spent a long time in a shelter environment where I didn’t get many chances to experience the world. I was very shy and fearful back then, often hiding quietly on my own. But I’ve changed a lot since then. As I learned what human warmth feels like, I slowly opened my heart. Now, I truly love people. When you call my name, I’ll happily roll over and show you my belly, wiggling my way toward you for affection. I have a very gentle, calm, and stable personality, and being with me tends to make people feel relaxed and at ease without even realizing it. My favorite thing in the world is my person. I can coexist peacefully with other dogs and even cats, but I’m more of a “one-on-one” kind of guy. I’m happiest in a quiet, calm home where I can enjoy peaceful time with my family rather than a busy, crowded environment. I already know the command “house,” I walk nicely on leash, and I do well riding in the car too. With potty training, I might have a few small accidents in a brand-new environment, but I’m very steady and gentle by nature—if you guide me patiently and kindly, I’ll learn just fine. In unfamiliar places, I may seem a little timid at first. But give me some time, and I’ll be the one coming to you, asking for love. Before you know it, I’ll be following you everywhere like your little shadow—your loyal, affectionate “velcro dog.” I’m not a dog who adjusts instantly. I’m a dog who blossoms when someone waits for me and believes in me. I’ve been learning to trust human arms again, and now I’m ready to give my whole heart to one forever family. If you’re looking for a quiet, gentle companion who will stay close by your side for life, I’m right here—waiting just for you. 💛
