Story
Meet Frank & Beans - Frank and Beans are a pair of 9‑month‑old tabby brothers who were surrendered to us when their previous owner could no longer provide the care they needed. These boys have grown up together and rely on each other for comfort, so they must be adopted as a bonded pair. Both are shy but sweet. Anyone interested should be patient and willing to give them the time and space they need to settle in. Once they feel safe, their gentle personalities start to shine.Beans - Beans is the shyer brother and is still adjusting to shelter life. He spends a lot of time hiding right now, which is completely normal for a sensitive cat in a new environment. He will need adopters who understand that building trust takes time and who can offer him a peaceful home where he can decompress at his own pace. With love, patience, and maybe a few tube treats, Beans will slowly start to show his gentle, sweet personality. He's a tender soul who just needs the right family to help him feel safe.Do you think you could be Frank & Beans' person? Here are some ways to find out: 1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during our adoption viewing hours. Our visiting hours are:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 12-3pmThursday, Public Holidays: closedSaturday, Sunday: 12-3pm2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs. Story
Hi! My name is Penny and I'm so excited to meet you! I first came to the SPCA as a stray kitten and recently found my way back here because my guardians needed to move away. I have something called stomatitis, which means my immune system overreacts to dental plaque. This results in very painful gums for me. I had surgery to remove my impacted teeth, and now I feel so much better and have rediscovered my love for food! In the future, I may need my remaining teeth to be removed if I have a flare-up. I was placed in a foster home to recover from my surgery, but am now ready to find my forever home! Some of my favourite activities include: getting lots of pets, bird watching, zooming after toys, sunbathing, short grooming sessions, treats... honestly, I love most things! I also have lots of things to say and enjoy talking to my humans, especially when it comes to meal times. I am currently living with two other cats in my foster home. This is my first time living with other cats and I am slowly adjusting to them. I enjoy doing quiet activities together like bird watching, but I still get a little nervous when the other cats have their zoomies time or want to play with me. I'm not ready to join in yet, but maybe in the future! I would also be happy in a home as the only cat, as long as I get lots of pets and cuddles from my humans.Do you think you could be Penny's person? Here are some ways to find out: 1.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Story
🐾 Intrducing Cream and Puff – a bonded pair seeking a loving home together. 🐾 We are so fortunate to work with incredible rescue partners across the province and beyond. When our partners are having difficulty finding homes for shy cats, they reach out to us in hopes that a wider audience will help these special kitties find their perfect match. Recently, six shy cats were transferred into our care from a rescue partner in Victoria. Today, we are thrilled to introduce two bonded pairs who are ready to find patient, loving homes: 🌸 Cream & Puff (20 months) Cream (F, 20 months) Extremely sweet and shy, but the most outgoing of the group! Cream comes right up to the cage door asking for love and attention. Puff (M, 20 months) Still very shy but completely non-aggressive. Puff will need patience and time to feel safe and confident. This gentle duo will blossom beautifully in a calm, understanding home. 💌 If you can open your heart and home to one of these quieter bonded pairs and help them continue to blossom, please complete an adoption application here: 👉 https://www.rapsbc.com/cat-adoption/ 📍 They are settling in at our Adoption Centre: 3380 No. 6 Rd, Richmond 🕐 Open Saturday & Sunday | 1 – 4 PM Quiet cats may take a little longer to shine — but when they do, the bond is truly special. 💕
