Story
Meet Karen (yes, that Karen - but the lovable kind)Karen is a 7-year-old gal who has been with us for nearly a full year, and she is very ready to stop paying rent in foster care and start ruling her own forever home! She came to us living outdoors, understandably fractious and undersocialized. After some time (and some detective work), we realized she was dealing with chronic ear infections that just wouldn't quit. Eventually, Karen was diagnosed with feline ceruminous cystomatosis - which in non-vet terms means her ear canals have recurring cystic growths leading to constant inflammation and infection. Not exactly a fun time.We tried medication trials for any months. Her right ear responded well, but the left ear stubbornly refused to cooperate (classic Karen). Ultimately, she underwent TECA-BO surgery on her left ear - this is a procedure where the diseased ear canal is fully removed to permanently eliminate pain and infection. The good news? She's healing well, and the problem ear is officially behind her. She does not have hearing in her left ear, but that doesn't slow her down one bit. Karen will require daily ear drops in her right ear but she's so used to it, they're a breeze to administer. Now, about her personality😼:Karen is sassy, confident, and does not enjoy cuddling - which, honestly, after everything she's been through, that's fair. That said, she is also funny, playful, and full of personality. She enjoys killing any toys that resemble birds, has her own sense of twisted humor, and if she realllly likes you, she may even choose to sit next to you while you watch bad reality TV (this is a VERY high honour). She is friendly with the people she trusts, enjoys companionship on her own terms, and has zero tolerance for nonsense. She will absolutely stand up for herself if needed. She could live with cat-savvy dogs and would likely be okay with laid-back cats, but she's not looking to manage anyone else's drama. She is not suitable for kids (she doesn't like them, frankly waaayyyy to much chaos). Karen will do best as an indoor-only cat where she be safe from the dangers of the outside world. If you're looking for:-A cat with boundaries-A tenacious survivor -A low-maintenance roommate who doesn't need to be on you all the time to love you...Karen might just be your gal!She has waited a long time for someone to see past the 'tude and appreciate the legend underneath. Story
Meet Taika 🐾Taika is a beautiful, spirited girl who's ready to find a home that truly understands her personality. She was surrendered for being a bit too rambunctious for her previous pawrents-but we think her playful energy is part of her charm!Taika absolutely loves attention from adults and will happily soak up affection on her own terms. She's not a fan of young kiddos and does best in a calmer, more predictable environment. Yes, she's got a little catitude-but honestly, it just makes her all the more lovable. One thing we've learned quickly: Taika prefers to be the queen of her castle. She's not a fan of other cats and would do best as the only pet in the homeShe's curious about everything going on around her and enjoys exploring her space. Taika can channel her inner tiger during playtime, chasing toys and burning off energy-but she also appreciates her downtime, curling up in cozy spots for a good nap.And when you're relaxing? That's her cue. Whether you're watching TV or reading, Taika will happily hop up and snooze on your lap.Taika is looking for a safe, patient home that will embrace her personality and give her the playtime and routine she thrives on. In return, you'll get a loyal, entertaining, and affectionate companion.Think Taika might be your perfect match? 🖤 Mim & Merlin 🖤Bonded Siblings | 9 Years Young | Must Be Adopted TogetherMerlinMerlin is Mim's loyal brother and lifelong best friend. This handsome black "bookend" may seem a bit unsure at first, but his warm heart isn't far beneath the surface. When Merlin realizes he's safe, he leans into affection and rewards gentle patience with deep, rumbling purrs.Merlin draws confidence from Mim, just as she does from him. Their bond is truly special - they seek each other out for reassurance and comfort, and it's clear they feel most at ease when they're together. Merlin would thrive in a loving home that understands that trust takes time, and that the best relationships are built slowly and kindly.Their Perfect HomeMim and Merlin are looking for a calm, loving home where they can stay together forever. They don't need much - just patience, gentle affection, and someone willing to let them settle in at their own pace. In return, you'll gain the quiet companionship and deep gratitude of two cats whose bond - and hearts - cannot be broken.💛 Adopt Mim & Merlin together, and give this devoted pair the forever home they deserve. 💛 Primary Color: Black Weight: 5.65 Age: 8yrs 8mths 3wks
