Story
Dolly loves the sun on her whiskers and she's an amazing lap cat. This senior kitty has unique amber-flecked eyes that catch the sun so nicely. She is ready for adoption now to a mellow home where she can be the center of your universe. Dolly loves being brushed and petted and she expresses her appreciation with happy feet and a soft purr. This friendly senior would appreciate a loving home with a nice human to dote on her. Please don't think for one minute that adopting a senior pet won't be as fun as adopting a kitten! Dolly is here to remind you that she likes the wand toy, too.She is in wonderful shape at 15 years young.Dolly is the oldest kitty in our adoption program (a healthy 15.5 years young) and this means she qualifies for our Seniors For Seniors program where we place healthy, loving pets with local senior citizens in need of companionship (WCAL picks up the tab in partnership with the Calistoga Pet Clinic). It's like a "forever foster" program for cats over 10 years and humans over 65 years in the upper Napa Valley. This program includes WCAL's full financial support for pet supplies, medical care as well as other assistance, plus a lifetime safety net just in case! She's also available for plain ole adoption if that's what you prefer or if you are located more than a short drive from Calistoga. Follow us on social media for daily updates! Story
Sylvester came to WCAL from the Napa Shelter because his medical needs were more than they could tackle and we all know that a shelter is no place for a senior kitty to feel their best. In the past three months, he has gotten a dental to remove the infected teeth and thanks to steroid injections and laser treatments, the ulcers in his mouth have healed. We are so happy for him! Sylvester has been an exceptionally tolerant patient. Thankfully he's got a wonderful, loving personality and he is just happy to be the center of attention and happy to receive all the love and attention. Sylvester is a fantastic lap cat.He is having an easier time eating canned food now that his mouth is no longer painful. Sylvester eats a prescription canned food for Kidney health. He's a little messy since he no longer has any teeth, but he likes it when his humans wipe off his cute little chin! Sylvester is also letting his foster give him daily or every other daily subcutaneous fluids to make sure he remains hydrated and keep his kidneys healthy.Look up affectionate in the dictionary, and youll see a photo of this small senior boy cat. He is a definite lap cat! Sylvester is eager to be included in whatever the hoomans are up to! Sylvester is 10 years old, 8 pounds, and available for adoption to a loving home. Story
Fiji is *very* into his people. An introvert, he is not! This snuggle monster wants to be wherever you're at. Fiji's most favorite thing in the entire world is a basket of laundry fresh out of the dryer. Once hes in it, folding has to wait, and his foster family is ok with that because hes just so darn cute! Other hobbies include laying directly on your chest and gazing lovingly into your eyes. Fiji has lots of cat friends, and he's also really helpful when it's time to change the sheets! Fiji is a flopper! This special boy has a strong motor, and when he really gets going, it activates a bit of happy kitty drool! He was born with early kidney disease, but despite this unfortunate diagnosis, Fiji's growing up to he a happy, playful cuddle bug in a WCAL foster home.He takes his twice-daily supplements with ease in a spoon of canned food, and although he has kidney disease, we would not characterize him as sick. Rather, Fiji is managing a chronic illness and absolutely living his best life. We hope he's the exception to the rule, and we're all rooting for Fiji to be adopted by a great family where he can live a nice long life. Cats sure have a way of surprising us and we love it when that happens. Fiji is eating regular kitten food (he LOVES canned food, so obviously, we give him as much as he likes!). One day, after he is full grown, he may need to transition to a KD prescription diet. No fluids are required currently. Every day is precious, and his ideal adopters will understand this. Fiji shares a foster home with lots of other friendly cats and gets along well with them all. Fiji loves everything and everyone, and in return, everyone loves him back. His foster family believes he is one of the best cats ever, and after 6 years of fostering non-stop, they have met a lot of cats  Follow us on social media for daily updates! Bitsy looks AMAZING, and you can tell she feels great too because she has begun playing and grooming herself! Calicivirus be gone! This female ginger kitten is a silly goose! Bitsy is having a ball exploring in her foster home. She still gets spooked with regular household noises, but now that she's healthy and can run and play, she's becoming more and more confident! Bitsy has a LOUD purr. She loves belly rubs and is getting her voice back after having the worst sore throat we've ever seen. Her purr is so loud you can hear her humming across the room. What Bitsy would really like is a nice cat friend to keep her company. Do you have room for a shy, swirly orange girl cat in your home? Follow us on social media for daily updates! Story
Hello, I'm Jan. I was rescued from the street as a kitten. I'm a 2 y/o, vaccinated, litter-trained, and spayed. I love to play and take long naps in my cat tree. I have a lot of friends, but I prefer my time alone and be the only Queen! I'm a little bit shy at first meeting people, but you can change that with food and a lot of cuddles. I am good with cats and small dogs. I eat wet/dry food combo, treats, and special meals such as “cooked breast chicken or turkey” mixed with my blended veggies because my foster mom spoils me. I'd eat homemade food, but I could be adapted to other foods slowly to prevent “gastrointestinal upset”. I found Jan as a little three weeks old kitty on my porch. Her mom and sibling were adopted, but she is still waiting for her forever home :( Jan likes to wander a lot and loves treats. She also likes to watch birds through the window and play with mice toys. Jan is an inside cat and strict about the cleanness of her litter box**

Story
We adopted Lucy as a kitten from the SFPCA in 2011. She has been a silly and affectionate companion for many years. It takes a lot of work to earn her trust - but once you do, she will love-bomb you endlessly. Lucy is quite talkative and will talk back to you if you speak to her. She is a big cuddler (once you get into her inner circle). She isn't comfortable with strangers, dogs or other cats. We don't have children so she hasn't had much exposure to them. We've learned that she thrives as an only child. Lucy needs a home where she can feel safe. She loves the sunshine and outdoors and because she's not super adventurous - we find she doesn't like to wander. If you have a balcony or enclosed/protected yard, she would love that. We welcomed another cat into our family a couple of years ago, and found that she sadly can't tolerate a sibling. We just want to give her a chance at finding a new loving family that where she would be an only child and find happiness in her retirement!
