Story
We have had Misu since he was 6 weeks old, we are broken on having to rehome him but we believe it’s for his best. Our household currently has 3 dogs and 2 cats (including Misu) and we just welcomed a newborn. We believe our house has become to stressful for Misu, he has been peeing sometimes outside of the cat litter box, we were advised to get him started on anxiety xxxx@xxxx.x r with a full house already, and with my husband loosing his job and a newborn, we financially are struggling. He’s a beautiful cat, with a big personality. He loves to cuddle once he knows who you are. He sometimes can be skittish to new faces. He would come with his favorite cat tree, we would love to keep in contact with whoever adopts Misu, we are asking for him to go to a good home where he is loved, that is why we are not asking for a rehome fee. Please reach out and ask any questions.

Story
Meatball is a friendly, playful guy who is about a year and half old. He is Fiv+, but he`s not aggressive, so he is safe to mix with other cats. He is currently in a temporary home with two older cats who are not into playing, much to Meatball`s dismay. If you have a playful kitty who needs a playmate, consider Meatball! He also gets along with small children. He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He has had flea prevention and dewormer. The adult cat adoption fee is $50. If you are interested in meeting this adorable guy, please complete the cat adoption form and we will set up a time for you to meet him.Application: https://safehomerescue.org/how-to-adopt/cat-adoption-form/

Story
Iowa Cat wants a real home.Message Agape Fosters page if interested in this big guy.Pappy approx 7 years old is off the mean streets of Waterloo after living off the land for years. He was worn for wear but looks much better now. He’s been fully vetted, incl tested and neutered. He’s rather dog like but doesn’t like dogs. He may do ok with a confident female cat or kittens as he helped take care of his offspring. His 4 kittens were also fixed and adopted out. He’d love a real home or even a foster/temporary home.

Story
Meet Charlie! He is a great companion cat who has proven to be social with other cats, very patient with toddlers, slightly chatty and is looking for his forever home. Charlie has handsome white markings on his face, paws and belly. He spent his first few years as an outdoor cat before he was trapped in Spring 2024. He has been neutered, vetted and had some large canine (coyote?) bite wounds to the face that have recovered fully. Charlie has been house trained and is happy to part of the family or household.

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org ---- A very large, loving lady who will win your heart- Will thrive in a more mature home; young, busy children are not a good fit for her- Is not a fan of other animals, and really needs to be the only pet in her new home; if you do have another pet, a VERY slow introduction will be required to set her up for success- Doesn't mind having her tummy rubbed, but will let you know when she has had enough- Looking for a committed adopter who will help her lose some weight- Enjoys being brushed and will benefit from an adopter who will be devoted to brushing her and keeping her looking her best! All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age) Primary Color: Tabby Weight: 18.93 Age: 7yrs 4mths 1wks

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org ---- Very sweet cat who welcomes attention and wants to be near her humans- Will cuddle up close to you when you sleep- She likes to look out the window to see what is happening outdoors- Her purr is very soft and will start almost the instant you start petting her- Is not a fan of other cats, and will be happiest as your one and only- Young, busy children will likely be too much for her, so she is looking for a more mature home that is calmer - Will be a wonderful friend for a calm, patient person who loves the quiet life just like she does- She will likely be shy when you first bring her home, and will need to be set up in her own quiet room at first, and then gradually allowed to explore the rest of her home at her own pace- She is a cat who will bond closely with her humans, and will be a devoted friend for lifeThis cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes several weeks for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life! This pet is considered to be in their senior years and may enjoy calmer activities and environments. They may also have medical or behavior needs related to their age.
