Story

My name is Jax and I’ve been going through it a bit lately. First my owner passed away and his family was unable to keep my sister and I so we were brought to HOPE. The people here are super nice but I was still a bit unsure and scared at first. My sister knew we were safe and was friendly and affectionate so I started adventuring out of my cage too. Then one night my sister passed away suddenly. Nobody is sure what happened since she never acted like anything was wrong but she was quite frail so the people think she might have had a hidden sickness. So i’m a bit lonely now and I’d love a nice, calm house to live in. I’m still a bit shy and unsure in new spaces but as long as you let me learn at my own pace, I will be nothing but sweet. I’m laid-back and calm at 8 years old. I don’t love the other cats but I mainly just ignore them and do not like when dogs get in my space at all, but not many cats do!

I'm a little cat with a big personality! I arrived at HOPE after having to be surrendered by the family that took me in after I was kicked out of my home. They loved me but I really didn't like their current cats. Most the lobby cat's here at the shelter annoy me a lot too, so I would prefer to be your only one. Other than that, I absolutely love people. I'm always ready for any kind of attention you give me. When I first got to the shelter I was a bit stressed and grouchy. So I may need a few days in your home to adjust before I'm ready for all that love, but I will get there quickly!

Hi there, I'm Baby Boy. I was surrendered to HOPE when my owner was unfortunately moved into assisted living after months in the ICU. Her daughters took care of me and my 5 roomies but it couldn't last long term. We were all very, very loved though! I'm a shy guy, that's just how I've always been. I am the more confident of my siblings Gracie and Blackie, though. Our Mama Kitty is a little shy too. I'd probably do best in a calm home with a nice quiet place to adjust. It'll take some time but I would totally repay your patience with love as soon as I'm warmed up! I've always been sweet for the people here at the shelter.

On a cold day, in negative 0 temps and a snow storm, I was found outside by a family who was worried that I wasn't going to make it much longer. They brought me inside and started contacting shelters so I could find my forever, indoor, home. Then I came to HOPE! With how I was found and how cold it still was outside, they determined I needed a nice, warm name and dubbed me Soup. As Soup, I have been the ultimate sweetheart, always ready to say hi to people that pass by me and lean into any affection I'm given. I'm a curious guy that wanders the lobby while my cage is being cleaned but the folks here think I will probably be a bit of a couch potato in my new home. Ha, potato soup!

I'm Quill! I came to HOPE with 4 young kittens and also took in a little orphan that needed a mama and siblings the same day we came in. I was an outdoor cat in my past, so I'm pretty sweet but still a little bit shy and unsure. I may take a little getting used to the indoor life and new people. I'm only 18 months old, so not too stuck in my ways yet! I do love when I get affection here, even if I try not to show it.

Meet Lucille Need something hung on the ceiling? Have a spider that you just can't reach to get rid of? Then you might just need Lucille in your life! Lucille is our newest resident, and she has a little bit of time to spend with us to get her adoption ready, but we thought we'd go ahead and introduce her! Lucille is quite the character. She presents herself as a 5-month-old kitten, when in reality she is actually a year or possibly slightly older. She has a dainty little meow that can sound like she's talking to you; when you tell her not to do something, she will meow back and ask you "Why?" in that sweet little voice. Lucille has plenty of spunk to give you a good laugh. Aside from her playfulness, she does enjoy snuggles, to the point of making work hard to do. She prefers to lay halfway upside down with her tail on your shoulder and her head in the crook of your elbow. A most awkward way so that she ensures that she has your full and undivided attention. She'll hang out on your shoulder for hours on end if you let her. Lucille is a fun and affectionate young cat who loves getting butt pats. She wasn't thrilled about wearing the cat's pajamas for her photo shoot, but she didn't throw a fit either.
