Story
Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Rizzo and Gonzo are mama and daughter kitties who will live their best lives together. Rizzo is a sweet mama kitty who has been working hard to take care of her babies. She’s been a bit defensive of them around other cats, so if she goes to a home with other cats a slow introduction will be necessary. She’s playful and snuggly, but takes a little time to warm up to people at first. She LOVES getting pets, and will climb up on her foster mama's lap for more.  Gonzo is a shy kitty. She’s still working on her social skills and developing trust with people, so she needs an adopter who understands her needs and will help her to become more comfortable and confident. She likes to climb up to look out the window to watch the birds and squirrels, and she loves a cozy spot to snuggle up with her mom Rizzo for a good nap.  These kitties should get along with kids, other cats, and cat-friendly dogs given proper introductions. Rizzo was born approximately October 15, 2022, and August 12, 2025, respectively. Their combined adoption fee is $222.50. They are spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, have microchips, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend. For more information, or to confirm whether a particular cat or kitten will be present that weekend, please email kittycityks@aol.com.  Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization.  March 7, 2026, 7:07 pm

Story
Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Onyx (black) and Mickey (tortie) are two gentle and affectionate little sweeties looking for their puurfect human(s) to love on. Onyx is a little shy at first but once she gets to know you and knows she can trust you, she will be your best little buddy. Onyx will let you pick her up for short periods of time and is learning to like it more and more. Mickey is a bit more outgoing and likely won’t be too shy for too long. She is fine with being picked up. These girls like to be brushed and get pets and as they get to know you will be giving headbutts and kisses. They also like to sit next to you and get stroked and tummy rubs. Both girls are pretty laid back, but still like to play with their toys (small stuffed mice and balls) and each other and also enjoy for you to play with them with the wand toy. They spend most of their day lounging and hanging out watching what all is going on and will join you if they think you need some help. These girls were rescued from a very bad situation where they were neglected and not taken care of. They are learning what it is like to be cared for and loved. Both girls have come a long way at their foster mom’s home and will continue to do so in a patient and loving home. These girls have been through a great deal together and have developed a deep bond. They sleep together, they play together and sit in their foster Mom’s lap together. During lap time their motors roar with contentment all the while headbutting and rubbing on each other and foster Mom. It is time for them to find their FOREVER loving home together with someone who will give them the love and time they need to blossom into their beautiful little selves. Onyx and Mickey will do best in a mature home or one with older, cat-savvy children (10+). They would like to be the only kitties in the home but have been around other kitties and have shown no aggression so would likely get along with other calm cat-friendly kitties with proper introductions. They have not been around dogs so they would have to go to a home with a very calm cat-friendly dog and given very slow and  proper introductions. Onyx and Mickey were born approximately August 17, 2021, and February 14, 2010, respectively. Their combined adoption fee is $167.50. They are spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, have microchips, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. Story
Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Meet Cleopatra! If you’re looking for a companion kitty, Cleo could be the cat for you! She’s a beautiful gray tortoiseshell girl, who loves to play and be brushed and likes to be near her human, especially at nap time, when she will want to be close to you.She has a bit of “tortitude,” which tortoiseshell cats are known for. Sometimes she needs to be gently reined in if she gets too wound up during playtime! Sudden movements or sounds sometimes scare her.Cleopatra will be okay with cat-friendly dogs and other cats, once they’ve been given a proper introductory process. Her foster home has 4 cats and a dog, and she has become comfortable enough to hang out during the day.Cleo will need a few weeks to adjust to her new home, because she has had several changes in her life and she’s anxious about new people and places. But once she knows she’s loved and safe, she will be a wonderful companion kitty. If you’re willing to give Cleo some love, patience and a forever home, let us know! Cleopatra was born approximately June 23, 2017, and her adoption fee is $105, or adopt 2, and the 2nd is half off. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and worming, tested negative for feline leukemia and is microchipped.
Girlie and Buddy are a brother a sister duo who are bonded and need to be adopted together. Very affectionate and active, they love to be lap cats on different laps. Buddy likes to be on a lap having a nap while you take a nap. Girlie is a bit shy and only comes out from her hiding spot to eat and cuddle on her own terms. They are vocal to tell when they are hungry and when they want pets. Girlie will lay down and want her pets. They are using scratching posts, not furniture, and using the litter box appropriately. These sweet kitties should get along with other cats with proper introductions. We do not know how they would be with dogs or children, but with proper introductions they should be okay. Girlie will hide during introductions to the house and other cats. These kitties will be available to meet at the adoption center with an appointment.  Girlie and Buddy were born approximately May 28, 2024. Their combined adoption fee is $167.50. They have been neutered/spayed, are up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, are microchipped, and have tested negative for feline leukemia virus.
Sandy is a feisty sweetheart with a bit of an independent streak. She enjoys playing with toys on her own, with her human, or sometimes with her foster kitty friends. Sandy also loves chattering at birds and squirrels outside the window. She is very affectionate and loves to be petted. She also allows an occasional snuggle with her foster mom.    Sandy has a unique “ticked-tabby” shorthair coat with different shades and tones of brown fur. She has a long, lean body, closely resembling an Abyssinian cat. It’s possible she might share some or even all genes with the breed!   Sandy may do well with kittens or younger cats, and with other cats if she can be the more dominant personality, or possibly as the only cat. Sometimes she likes her own space and will set boundaries with a quick hiss or whack (no fighting). With time and comfort in her environment, she’ll likely continue to relax and settle in. Also, with patience and proper introductions, she may do well with calm dogs or children.   Sandy was born approximately July 22, 2025, and her adoption fee is $160. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.
Gleason is a chubby love bug, who happens to be diabetic, but is very well managed on his current insulin dose.  He settled in quickly at his foster home and is very tolerant of his foster brother cats and giant dog.  In fact, Foster Mom says he likes the 100 lb dog best of all!  He loves to have his head and face petted, and will follow you anywhere for his wet food!  Gleason has had a dental (cleaning and extractions) and except for a shaved back where his glucose monitor used to be, he is absolutely perfect and ready for his forever family.  If you've never had a diabetic cat, they really are easy to manage with twice daily insulin injections. The insulin cost is approximately $75 for a 60 day supply. The injections are easy and Kitty City would be happy to educate you on the care of a diabetic cat. If you can open your heart to Gleason, you won't regret it!  This kitty should get along with kids, other cats, and cat-friendly dogs given proper introductions. Gleason was born approximately September 22, 2017, and his adoption fee is $105, or adopt two and the second is half off. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, is microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.
