Precious was part of a large group of cats that we were asked to help with, 5 years ago. Most of them were feral, and the owners' property had been foreclosed. Precious was the only tame cat we brought out that night. A month later, she had four kittens. She remains friendly and calm. Though she's never had a real home, we think she'll make a great pet! Tonto was dumped on a country road. He was a tame cat, but is a bit skittish about being picked up. We had him neutered, combo tested (negative) and vaccinated. Ruffian was picked up as a stray, and taken to a county shelter where he tested positive for FIV. He nay be adopted to an only-cat home, or to one where the other cat(s) are also FIV+. Story

Jezebel's longtime owner developed dementia and could no longer care for her. The relative who turned her over to a county shelter described her on the surrender forms as "feral" and "aggressive". Combined with her traumatized behavior at the shelter, this description nearly cost her her life. However, she was networked for rescue and we pulled her. Jezebel is just somebody's kittycat. Once she was in a quiet setting, and treated respectfully, she acted like most other tame cats. She came in very overweight, at 18 pounds; now she's down a little to 16.6. She was already spayed and has now been vaccinated and had a negative combo test. We're introducing her to other cats soon. 240 522 7416 for more information.
