Story
Our rescue is based out of Pikesville, Maryland!  We typically do not adopt more than 45 minutes away from Pikesville, so please bear that in mind! Also, if you are viewing this cat on Petfinder, note that ALL of our animals are spayed/neutered despite what it says. Milkshake is a sweet girl less than a year old. She was born in a feral colony and ended up being friendly. She is quiet and reserved at first, and definitely needs a quiet hiding spot to decompress in before she gets used to knew people and places. Milkshake has acted intimidated by other cats in her space, although she shared space with more than a dozen of them at her colony. She may acclimate to a cat-friendly cat given a proper introduction.  Milkshake loves to play with her toys, and she is a loving and affectionate girl who we are sitll getting to know. She could use a foster home where she can meet more people. She should not go to a loud home or one with small children. Needs Must Cats will have received full vetting including spay or neuter, FIV/FLV testing, microchip, and treatment for parasites by time of adoption. The adoption fee in the amount below helps us assist more cats and kittens in urgent need. These fees do not even begin to cover our expenses so please consider making an additional donate to support our life-saving efforts! Special Needs or Barn Cat - Donation Adult Cat / Kitten over 6 months - $90 Kitten under 6 months - $150 Pair of Kittens - $275 Please feel free to contact us by email with any questions, or submit your application here: http://www.needsmust.org/adopt March 10, 2026, 3:03 am

Story
Meet Max!  This handsome little guy was rescued from the streets of North Nashville in mid-November by a kind-hearted young man who regularly cares for local cat colonies.  When he spotted this little kitten, he set a humane trap and safely brought him in out of harm’s way.  At the time, Max was estimated to be only about six weeks old.  Max has never been the type of rescue who claws, hisses, or spits - he has simply been scared.  He has taken his time learning to trust, and it’s hard to know what his early experiences with humans may have been.  What he needed most was patience, kindness, and understanding.  Just two days before rescuing Max, the same rescuer had trapped another kitten believed to be his sister or cousin, Mia.  The two have stayed together ever since and enjoy playing and keeping each other company.  Their foster mom gradually introduced them to a larger kitty room where they now share space with three older cats.  The room is filled with fun wall shelves, cozy beds, scratching posts, and cat towers that create the perfect playground and obstacle course.  The many cubbies make excellent hiding spots for games of hide-and-seek.  It has been wonderful watching both Max and Mia blossom into more confident, trusting kittens.  These former street babies needed a little time to figure out how to play, but now they’re making up for it!  Crinkle balls and fuzzy toy balls are definite favorites - you’ll often see them batting toys across the room.  Max is also very fond of wand toys and loves trying to catch those “flying fish.”  Are Max and Mia inseparable?  Not necessarily.  They often enjoy their own space, and it’s common to find them relaxing in different parts of the kitty room.  Sometimes Max can be found stretched out on a wall bed, quietly observing the world.  I jokingly call him “Mad Max” because he occasionally has such a serious expression!  He’s definitely an observer by nature.  While it would be lovely if Max and Mia could stay together, Max could also thrive in a home where he can truly become someone’s special little guy.  Max is a beautiful gray tabby with classic white stripes, and green eyes.  He is truly one of the lucky ones - rescued from the streets and given the chance to grow up in a safe, loving foster home.  He tested negative on all necessary screenings and has been a healthy boy during his time in foster care.  It’s easy to fall in love with Max’s photos, but what he truly needs is a forever home that will give him time to adjust, build trust, and feel safe with his new family.  He is still a little timid and cautious, but with patience and love, that shyness will continue to fade.  Beneath it all is a gentle, sweet soul just waiting to shine.  Are you ready to give Max the patience and love he deserves?  Contact CCR today to learn more about this handsome boy.  ccrnewengland@gmail.com Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 9, 2026, 6:34 pm

Story
My, oh my, Little Miss Mia stopped me in my tracks when I first saw her!  You, as well?  Look at that beautiful face!  This little love was rescued off the streets of North Nashville in mid-November by a kind-hearted young man that regularly feeds local cat colonies.  When he saw this little kitten, he knew she was too small and vulnerable to survive.  He set a humane trap, and brought her in, safe from danger.  We estimate Mia was only about six weeks old at the time.  Poor little baby!  Mia has never been a “clawing, hissing and spitting” rescue; she has simply been scared.  She has been very slow to trust; who knows how she was previously treated by humans.  What she needed was patience and understanding.  Just two days after rescuing Little Miss Mia, this same young man trapped another kitten from the same location—her brother or cousin, Max. The two have been kept together ever since.  They love to play together and keep each other company.  Their foster mom was able to gradually integrate them into a larger kitty room with three older cats.  The room is full of fun wall shelves, cozy beds, and scratching posts that create the perfect playground and obstacle course.  The many cat towers offer great cubbies, perfect for hide and seek.  It is rewarding to watch them both blossom into trusting, loving kittens.  It took these street cats awhile to learn how to play!  I would say crinkle and fuzzy balls are Mia’s favorite.  You can find her carrying one around proudly in her mouth, and Max is trotting right behind her.  They are also very fond of any wand toy.  Are Mia and Max inseparable?  Not necessarily.  Mia does appear to have a bit of an independent streak and a little touch of sass to go with her sweetness.  While it would be wonderful if they could stay together, Mia may also thrive in a home where she can truly blossom as someone’s special kitten.  Darling Mia has the most adorable little white face, beautifully accented by her blue-grey and cream-tan stripes.  Her four little paws look like they were dipped in white paint!  When she first arrived, she resembled a little stuffed toy, complete with a fluffy white bib.  Her foster mom suspects that soft fluff will return even more as she matures.  Mia is truly one of the lucky ones.  Plucked from the streets, and given a safe, loving foster home.  She tested negative on all the necessary tests, and has really never been sick while living here.  It is easy to fall in love with Mia’s pictures, no doubt.  But Mia needs a forever home that will give her time to readjust, to build trust and to feel safe with her new humans.  She is still a bit timid and very cautious, but that will fade once she settles into a patient, loving home. Beneath that shyness is a gentle and very sweet soul waiting to shine.  Are you ready to give Mia the patience and love she deserves?  Her name is fun and chic; Mia means “mine”, which conveys a sense of endearment.  Are you ready to make this little Mama Mia yours?  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested! Our vetting is extensive: Spay, rabies, FIV vaccine, FIV tested and negative, fecal and dewormings and a Drontal  and microchipped.
