Story
Meet Kitty — a sweet, gentle cat who loves getting pets and curling up in your lap.Kitty is a lovable feline with a heart full of warmth and a personality that grows on you. At first, she may seem shy, especially when meeting new people, but once she feels safe and comfortable, she opens up into a loving, affectionate companion. She’s happiest when she’s in your lap, snuggling close and purring contentedly, or when she’s curled up in a cozy spot to recharge. While she enjoys the companionship of humans and will follow them from room to room, Kitty is also a cat who values her independence. She’s happy to entertain herself with toys when the mood strikes, but she’s equally at home resting quietly in a sunny window or napping in a soft blanket. This balance of affection and self-reliance makes her a great fit for a calm, patient home.Kitty’s ideal environment is one where she can be both a lap cat and a free-spirited explorer. She would thrive in a home with a gentle, understanding person who can give her space when she needs it, and who is ready to share in her moments of play and cuddles. She’s adaptable, friendly, and ready to form a special bond with her new family. We do think she would do best in a home as an only pet and with no young children - she's not comfortable with other pets in her space. If you’re looking for a cat who will bring comfort, companionship, and a little extra purr-fect charm into your life, Kitty is the one for you. She is also a good traveler!Contact 507-451-4512 or steelecountyhumanesociety@gmail.com to set up a meet-n-greet. My adoption fee is $150.

He’s been described as independent, calm, and easygoing, making him a wonderful match for someone looking for a quieter feline friend. While he’s not constantly seeking attention, he does enjoy playtime now and then and has a fun, playful side that comes out when the mood strikes. One of Tigger’s favorite pastimes is relaxing by the window and watching the world go by. Whether it’s birds fluttering outside or everyday neighborhood activity, he’s happiest when he has a cozy spot to lounge and observe.Tigger tends to do better with adults than young children and would likely thrive in a calm, understanding home where he can settle in comfortably and enjoy companionship on his terms. He is litter box trained, neutered, microchipped, and current on all age-appropriate vaccinations. To set up a meet-and-greet, contact:• steelecountyhumanesociety@gmail.com • 507-451-4512 Adoption fee: $75

Story
Meet Manny — a big-hearted kitten with an even bigger personality! Manny came into foster care alongside his three siblings as a tiny kitten, and it didn’t take long for his foster family to notice he was the biggest of the bunch — especially when food is involved! This handsome boy has a thick, soft coat and an affectionate, playful nature that makes him impossible not to love. From day one, Manny has wanted to be part of whatever his foster family is doing. He loves chasing toys, climbing the cat castle, wrestling and cuddling with his siblings, and spending time with the adult cat in the home. One of his favorite games is having toys tossed for him so he can sprint after them like a little athlete!Manny is also wonderfully social and adaptable. He doesn’t mind being held, is well handled by the children in his foster home, and even tolerates the family’s large dog. His easygoing and loving personality would make him a wonderful addition to many different types of homes — whether as a single cat or alongside other pets. My foster mama says, "Manny is becoming the coolest kitty. He’s observant and always following the kids around the house. He knows their bedtimes and loves to sleep with them every night. He’s also very proficient at biscuit making and bringing toys to our kids! He loves to sit and lay on boxes and backpacks, we have discovered." Manny is house trained, current on all age-appropriate vaccinations, and will be neutered soon.To set up a meet-and-greet, contact:• 507-451-4512 • steelecountyhumanesociety@gmail.com Adoption fee: $200

Story
Hi there… I’m Boss Man!
And yes, I know, I’m very, very adorable. You can tell just by looking at me. I didn’t always live the good life. I came to the sanctuary as part of the “Glencoe” cats, after spending my days outside fighting for food and shelter. When I first arrived, I was pretty scared… and honestly, I wasn’t impressed with the humans at all. I even earned my name by being the Boss of the ISO room, telling everyone to go away and mind their business! But guess what? Humans grew on me. Turns out they’re pretty great. They give pets (which feel amazing), lots of love, and, most importantly, tasty lickable treats. Those treats were the key to my heart, and they’ll be the key to helping me feel comfortable in my new home too. I’ll need a family who understands that I’ll hide at first and take some time to adjust. Please be patient with me, once I trust you, you’ll see what a sweet, loving guy I really am. I absolutely love other cats. Snuggling with them, playing with them, sharing cozy naps… a feline friend is a must for me. I’m playful, always zooming around with toys, and I especially go wild for catnip bananas and catnip toys. Pure joy. These days, I even enjoy greeting visitors, especially if they come bearing treats. From tough outdoor boss to luxury-loving sweetheart, I’ve come a long way. If you think you could be my patient, loving forever human, come meet me. You can visit me daily from 1–5pm… I’ll be the adorable guy waiting for treats and pets. I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. I am fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I even had a dental recently, so all my teeth are clean. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing.
