Story
Hi there… I’m Boss Man!
And yes, I know, I’m very, very adorable. You can tell just by looking at me. I didn’t always live the good life. I came to the sanctuary as part of the “Glencoe” cats, after spending my days outside fighting for food and shelter. When I first arrived, I was pretty scared… and honestly, I wasn’t impressed with the humans at all. I even earned my name by being the Boss of the ISO room, telling everyone to go away and mind their business! But guess what? Humans grew on me. Turns out they’re pretty great. They give pets (which feel amazing), lots of love, and, most importantly, tasty lickable treats. Those treats were the key to my heart, and they’ll be the key to helping me feel comfortable in my new home too. I’ll need a family who understands that I’ll hide at first and take some time to adjust. Please be patient with me, once I trust you, you’ll see what a sweet, loving guy I really am. I absolutely love other cats. Snuggling with them, playing with them, sharing cozy naps… a feline friend is a must for me. I’m playful, always zooming around with toys, and I especially go wild for catnip bananas and catnip toys. Pure joy. These days, I even enjoy greeting visitors, especially if they come bearing treats. From tough outdoor boss to luxury-loving sweetheart, I’ve come a long way. If you think you could be my patient, loving forever human, come meet me. You can visit me daily from 1–5pm… I’ll be the adorable guy waiting for treats and pets. I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. I am fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I even had a dental recently, so all my teeth are clean. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing. Story
Meet Alistair – The Gentle Gray Gem Foster Home is located in Faribault, Minnesota Hi there, I’m Alistair — a handsome dark gray fellow with soulful eyes and a heart that’s learning just how good love can feel. I might be a little shy when we first meet, but once I realize you’re one of the good humans, I’ll melt right into your hands for pets and cuddles. It’s taken me some time and patience in my wonderful foster home to learn that gentle hands and kind words mean safety — and wow, I’m really starting to enjoy it! When I’m comfortable, I purr like a tiny motor and lean into every pet and scratch you offer. I also love to play with toys and hang out with my cat friends. I get along great with other kitties and have a lot of fun with my foster siblings. I’m curious, playful, and I’ve truly blossomed since arriving here. Now I’m ready for my forever home, one with patient people who will keep showing me how amazing love feels. In return, I promise to be your loyal, loving companion once I know I’m safe with you. If you think you could be my person, I’d love to meet you and start the next chapter of my story. I am fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, FIV&FeLV negative, microchipped, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I require an indoor only home and as with all cats - absolutely no declawing. If you are interested in adopting Alistair, please contact his foster at (507) 581-4493

Story
Hi… my name is Nicole 🖤 I’ve been waiting a long time to tell my story, and I’m really hoping it reaches the right human. I came to this sanctuary many years ago as a feral kitty who didn’t like people at all. Before that, I was living on a sheep farm, unwanted, cold, afraid, and hungry. Life was hard, and trusting humans wasn’t something I knew how to do. But this sanctuary changed everything for me. They gave me safety, patience, love… and yes, lots of food (that part helped a lot). It took a long time before I let anyone touch me. I needed time, understanding, and gentle hearts. And guess what? It worked. I’m now a very sweet girl who loves being petted. So much so that if you stop too soon, I might give you a gentle love tap to remind you that you’re definitely not done yet. 💕 I’m also a licker, if you sit with me long enough, I’ll give you a full bath until you’re nice and clean. I adore cozy beds, and if you spend enough quiet time with me, I may even hop right into your lap. Having my own human… my own bed… my own lap… that’s my dream. New places can be scary for me, so my forever family will need to understand that I’ll probably hide at first. Please don’t take it personally, I just need time to adjust. Patience is how you win my heart. A few more things about me: • I’m all black with one white whisker (very fancy, I know). • I wear a pink collar, so I’m easy to spot. • I love lickable treats and will always find my way to them. • Catnip makes me go absolutely wild. • I get the zoomies and love to play. • I adore other cats and would do best in a home with a feline friend. I’m considered a special needs kitty because I have FIV, but it’s truly nothing to be afraid of. I’m happy, healthy, and recently had a dental, so my teeth are sparkling clean. Don’t hesitate to ask questions about FIV; I promise, I’m worth it. If you think we might be meant for each other, you can come visit me any day between 1–5pm, even on holidays. I’ve waited a long time… and I can’t wait to finally have a home of my very own. 🖤 I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. I am fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, FIV positive, FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing. Story
Hi… my name is Sadie! I’m a little spiced brown tabby with the prettiest splashes of orange sprinkled throughout my coat and big, beautiful eyes that see everything. My fur is extra soft, just wait until you feel it. Before coming here, I lived underneath an abandoned mobile home. Life out there was scary, and I came to the sanctuary very feral and very afraid. It took quite a bit of time, patience, and love before the humans could even touch me. I’m still a little shy at first, and big movements can make me nervous, but please don’t let that fool you. Deep down, I am a total sweetheart. Once I trust you, I love being petted. I’ll rub up against your legs to remind you I’m there (fair warning, if you’re a fall risk, I may not be your girl!). I show my affection in quiet, gentle ways, and I truly enjoy being close to my people once I feel safe. When I go to my forever home, I’ll need someone who understands that I will hide at first. New places are scary. But with time, food, treats, and lots of love, I promise I’ll slowly come out of my shell. Patience means everything to a girl like me. I absolutely adore other cats and would do best in a home with a feline companion to cuddle with. Some of my favorite things include treat time, lounging on the catio, napping on heated beds, and snuggling up with my kitty friends. If you’re gentle, patient, and have room in your heart (and home) for a shy but loving soul, I just might be your perfect match. You can come visit me any day between 1–5pm. I’ll be waiting. I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. Story
Hi there… I’m Strawberry! Some people say orange female cats are a rare gem, and well, I guess that makes me a pretty sweet find. Just like my name, I’m sweet as a strawberry… once you give me a little time to ripen. I didn’t always feel this soft and lovable. I came to the sanctuary feral and thought humans were pretty gross, to be honest. I stayed far away, kept my distance, and made it very clear I was not interested. But with lots of time, patience, love… and lots and lots of food (seriously, food is the key to my heart), I slowly learned that humans aren’t so bad after all. My future family will need to understand that I’ll hide at first. New places are scary, and I like to take things at my own pace. Bribes in the form of food and patience work wonders for helping me come out of my shell. Once I do, though, I’m a total sweetheart. I love gentle pets and enjoy spending time with visitors who take it slow with me. When you hit the right spot, I arch my back and soak up every bit of affection like sunshine on a strawberry patch. I especially love lickable treats and trust me, I know exactly when visitors are handing them out. I like to sit up high on the cat trees, lounge in soft, fluffy beds, and play with my favorite toys… mouse toys, catnip toys, balls… I’m always ready for fun. I’m great with other cats and would actually prefer a home with a feline friend to keep me company. Oh! One more sweet detail… I recently had a dental, so my teeth are sparkling clean and ready for all the treats you can offer. If you’d like to meet me, you can visit me daily from 1–5 PM. With a little patience and a few tasty treats, you might just discover that this shy strawberry is the sweetest one in the bunch. I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. Story
Hi… my name is Alison! I’m a little gray tabby with the softest fur, gentle purrs, and big green eyes that are always watching the world carefully. I came to the sanctuary a very scared mama after being live trapped with my two babies under an abandoned mobile home. I did my very best for them and I’m proud to say they’ve both found loving homes. Now it’s finally my turn. I’ll be honest with you: I’m shy at first. When I go somewhere new, I like to hide and take my time. I need a family who understands that trust doesn’t happen overnight. But if you’re patient with me, I promise it’s worth it. Once I feel safe, I absolutely love soaking up affection. I’m quiet, sweet, and full of love. I have the softest, most polite purrs. I love being brushed… it’s one of my favorite ways to relax. And I have a silly side too… sometimes I stand right in my food dish because, well, food is yummy and I get excited. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who will bond deeply once she feels secure, I might be your girl. I don’t need loud or busy… just calm, kind, and patient. You can come meet me daily between 1–5pm at the sanctuary. I might be hiding at first… but I’ll be hoping it’s you. I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing.
