Story
Meet Miss Scarlett, a sweet girl with a bit of sass and a gentle, reserved nature. She can be a little shy at first and may take some time to feel comfortable in new surroundings. The shelter environment has her a bit guarded, but in a calm and patient home, she’s expected to relax and slowly show more of her personality. With time and trust, her affectionate side will come through. Miss Scarlett would do best in a peaceful home where she can settle in at her own pace. Once she feels safe, she has the potential to be a lovely, engaging companion with just the right touch of attitude.

Story
Meet Maizy! At around 2 years old, Maizy is a beautiful girl with a gentle heart who is looking for a patient, understanding person to give her the fresh start she deserves. Maizy came to us after her beloved owner passed away while in a nursing home. Losing her home and the person she knew was incredibly difficult for her, and when she first arrived at the shelter she was very frightened. She spent over a month slowly learning that people could be trusted, and during that time she preferred to keep her distance and was not comfortable being handled. Today, Maizy has made amazing progress. Once she feels safe, she shows her sweet personality and has become much more comfortable with the staff who have taken the time to earn her trust. Watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding. When Maizy first arrived, we were told she would not do well with children, cats, or dogs. While we still believe she would be happiest in a quiet home without children or dogs, she has pleasantly surprised us by calmly coexisting with laid back cats in one of our cat condos. If her new family already has a cat, introductions should be done very slowly and only with a calm, cat friendly companion. Maizy is looking for a peaceful home with someone who understands that trust takes time. She will need plenty of patience as she adjusts to a new environment, and it may take several weeks before she feels truly at home. Because of this, she would do best with a cat savvy adopter who will let her settle in at her own pace and celebrate the little milestones along the way. If you have a quiet home, a patient heart, and the experience to help a shy cat blossom, Maizy may be the perfect companion for you. The love of a cat like Maizy is earned, and once you have it, it is truly something special.

Story
Dullahan is a sweet, outgoing cat who loves being around people and thrives on attention. He greets visitors with curiosity and confidence, and he’s always happy to be part of whatever is going on. Affectionate and social, Dullahan enjoys pets, companionship, and being included in daily life. While we don’t know a lot about how he has done in a home environment, based on his personality here, we believe he will adapt well and quickly bond with his people. He has a playful, engaging nature and seems well-suited to a moderately active household. Dullahan is FIV-positive, which means he will need an adopter who is committed to keeping him healthy with regular veterinary care, including routine checkups and monitoring for any potential health concerns. Many FIV-positive cats live long, happy lives with proper care and a stable indoor environment. He comes from a hoarding situation where multiple unneutered male cats were kept together, which led to fighting. Due to this history—and a fight that occurred while in our care—Dullahan will need to be the only cat in the home. He is not comfortable around other cats and will do best as your one and only feline companion. He would also prefer a home without dogs. Dullahan is a loving, people-oriented cat who is ready to form a strong bond with his adopter. In a home where he can be the center of attention, he will make a fun, affectionate, and devoted companion.

Hi, I'm Poppy, a beautiful black and white girl who's looking for a quiet, loving home to call my own. At 8 years old, I'm spayed and settling into my golden years — I do best as your one and only cat, in a home without dogs or other feline friends. I have a special diet that I'll need you to follow, but I promise I'm worth the extra care with my shy, sweet nature. I'm ready to spend my days with someone patient who appreciates a gentle companion. Come meet me soon!

Story
Mildred is a distinguished senior lady who knows exactly what she likes: a peaceful home, a cozy place to nap, and a good window where she can keep an eye on the world. While she's a very sweet girl, she does have a bit of a crabby streak from time to time—she's earned the right to be opinionated after all! Mildred came to us with her sister, Gertrude, and has experienced a few health ups and downs along the way. Because of this, she is looking for an adopter who is comfortable caring for a senior cat and committed to staying on top of her veterinary care. We recommend routine screening bloodwork, including a T4 (thyroid) test, to help monitor her health as she ages. This lovely lady also gets some eye crusties that will need regular gentle cleaning to keep her comfortable. Thankfully, she doesn't ask for much beyond that and appreciates a calm, predictable routine. Mildred may not be the kitten she once was, but she has plenty of love left to give. If you have a soft spot for senior cats and are looking for a companion to share quiet afternoons and sunny windowsills, Mildred could be the perfect addition to your family.
