Sadly, she was owner surrendered because her family could no longer afford her care. She would love to find a forever home where she can feel safe and secure again. She is SUPER high energy and loves to play. She likes other dogs too and tends to be submissive around them. Her perfect home would be an active one because she’s no couch potato! She would do well in a home with a large fenced yard or as your jogging buddy. Clover is very sweet and will give you lots of smiles! So, if you are ready to get up off that couch, then Clover is ready to join you on every adventure!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet girl looking fresh start and love! BAILEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!    Name: Bailey        Best Guess for Breed: Catahoula Mix    Best Guess for Age: 4.5 years as of May 2023       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight: 45 lbs as of August 2022   Gets Along With:  Bailey has done well with other dogs but she should not go to a home with cats. We haven't seen her with kids but she can be tested.   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:  Bailey is a truly Lucky Dog!  She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.   Bailey is Looking For: Her forever family! Through no fault at all of her own, she needs a new home and she is eager to have her own humans to trot alongside on long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. She's been saving up her adoring gazes, kisses, and tail wags in the shelter to bestow upon her new humans - she promises loyal companionship in addition to those. What do you say? Can you see Bailey curled up by you as you chill after a fun day together? What My Foster Says About Me: Bailey is a super sweet girl who loves humans and playing with other dogs. She’s smart and a quick learner, we’ve seen tremendous improvement in her behavior in a very short amount of time. Bailey loves playing and running around as much as she enjoys taking long naps and sleeping in. She prefers to be close to her humans when they are home, and will be very chill and most likely sleeping whenever she’s home alone. Although she hasn’t lived with kids as far as we know, she is always very sweet and gentle whenever kids in the street or park want to pet her. While sometimes with adults she will want to jump and play, she has never tried this with kids and just enjoys the pets and love from the little ones. We believe she would do best with a family that will give her lots of attention and room to play / run around to spend her energy. Additionally, Bailey LOVES car rides and playing in the water, so we think she would be great company on road trips and beach / lake adventures! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog.   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.    BE A FOSTER!!!   Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs! To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org! Murphy is 1 year and 2 months old and a big happy goofy guy. His family has no time to spend with him so want to find him a great home. He is neutered and UTD on vaccinations. He is potty trained and walks great on a leash. He looks bigger in pictures than he really is. He really loves kids and gets excited so maybe no small kids . He is a 53 pound big baby. He isn’t really a barker and storms don’t bother him. He does not appear to have any separation anxiety. Contact Teresa 2767910475. Also you can email rsimis2@gmail.com

Story
Meet Frankie, a remarkable 2-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart full of resilience and a zest for life. Since finding his way to our rescue, Frankie has effortlessly connected with every dog-friendly companion he’s encountered, always eager for playtime and new friendships. Frankie’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. A traumatic incident left him with a unique but endearing trait—a collapsed muscle in his head that doesn’t take away from his undeniable handsomeness. He’s a testament to the strength of his spirit, showing unwavering love for people despite the hardships he’s endured. Frankie’s distinctive appearance is only matched by his boundless energy and loyalty. His enthusiasm for life knows no bounds, and he thrives on staying active. While he’s not a fan of cats, his heart swells with affection for children, making him an ideal companion for families. Walking alongside Frankie is a pleasure, as he’s mastered leash manners to perfection. Weighing in at 80 lbs and boasting an athletic build, Frankie is ready to find his forever family. His differences make him extraordinary, his resilience is inspiring, and his love is unconditional. Story
Also part Huskey! I am posting this for my friend who is going through some huge struggles financially and mentally. She is moving in with me from Louisiana to Maryland to start a new life, but she has 3 dogs and I have a large dog. We do not have the money/time/space for 4 dogs. My dog has severe anxiety as well and would be too stressed. Here is a message from my friend about Apollo: Gets along with all animals and people. Calm when alone. I was driving to Walmart and saw someone who was selling $20 puppies. 3 days later he was doing and the vet said he had Parvovirus. I paid a lot of money to save his life and he is clearly very grateful. He loves hugs and kisses. He will lay in your lap and rest his head on your chest. You can cradle him like a baby and he loves it. He is so incredibly sweet and one of the best dogs I’ve ever had. He’s great with other dogs and loves birds in a best-friend way. Hasn’t been cat-tested yet. But loves kids. And he’s very gentle.

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Hooch is 3 years old and weighs 80lbs.  He's neutered, up to date on his vaccines, but is not microchipped.  Hooch has been trained and is currently in training with All-American Canine in Crownsville, MD.  He started with them about 6 months ago to see if there was any way the family could keep him.  Hooch dislikes and/or fears strangers and sudden noises/movements. BITE INCIDENT:  January 2022 in North Beach, Maryland.  The bite broke the skin, animal control was involved, but no medical attention was necessary.  Hooch's guardian states:  " Our friend was told not to approach the gate where Hooch was because he is not friendly to strangers. Her boyfriend entered the gated area because Hooch knew him and was comfortable with him. She thought because of this that he would be ok if she pet him. When she reached to let him, he lunged and nipped her nose but did not pursue attacking her, it all happened very quickly." Reason for Hooch's surrender:  "We got Hooch shortly after our daughters support dog passed away. She has autism and a chromosome disorder. She needed a new support dog/companion. It was the end of 2019 when we got Hooch and just a few months later Covid hit, right when we needed to put him through the proper training and socialization. He does not take well to children or strangers. However, we recently put him through training at American canine in Crownsville Maryland and he has shown significant progress. But, given the breed he is we are quickly realizing he is not a family dog, he is a farm dog and needs a lot more space to run and a A TON of time for training of which neither we can give him. He deserves a great life, he can be a GREAT dog for someone who is in need of a working dog and a home where there are no children.  We made the mistake of rushing to get a dog before understanding the breed fully and now I live in constant fear of my daughter getting hurt. That's not fair to Hooch or my daughter. " Hooch's guardian states the following about children:  Hooch lives with children 4 & 11 years old.  "He loves our youngest daughter and is very playful with her but our older daughter with special needs stresses him out, he does not take to her. They have to be separated at all times." Hooch's guardian states the following about dogs:  " He’s done great with our chiuahaha/dachshund mix, during training with All American K9 he was around other dogs but I don’t personally have much more experience with him and other animals. If acclimated properly I’m sure he could live with other dogs. At first he probably will not like the other dogs in the home." Hooch's guardian states the following about cats:  Hooch has not lived with or otherwise been around other cats.  Therefore, his guardian recommends against living with cats. Hooch's guardian describes his ideal home:  " A farm, where he can run, hunt or herd. Someone who has a lot of time to play with and train him. A home with no young children. Someone who is familiar with the Catahoula breed."
