Sadly, she was owner surrendered because her family could no longer afford her care. She would love to find a forever home where she can feel safe and secure again. She is SUPER high energy and loves to play. She likes other dogs too and tends to be submissive around them. Her perfect home would be an active one because she’s no couch potato! She would do well in a home with a large fenced yard or as your jogging buddy. Clover is very sweet and will give you lots of smiles! So, if you are ready to get up off that couch, then Clover is ready to join you on every adventure!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet girl looking fresh start and love! BAILEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Bailey and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (October 1st) from 12-3 pm at the Potomac Yard PetSmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!    Name: Bailey        Best Guess for Breed: Catahoula Mix    Best Guess for Age: 4.5 years as of May 2023       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight: 45 lbs as of August 2022   Gets Along With:  Bailey has done well with other dogs but she should not go to a home with cats. We haven't seen her with kids but she can be tested.   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:  Bailey is a truly Lucky Dog!  She tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.   Bailey is Looking For: Her forever family! Through no fault at all of her own, she needs a new home and she is eager to have her own humans to trot alongside on long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. She's been saving up her adoring gazes, kisses, and tail wags in the shelter to bestow upon her new humans - she promises loyal companionship in addition to those. What do you say? Can you see Bailey curled up by you as you chill after a fun day together? What My Foster Says About Me: Bailey is a super sweet girl who loves humans and playing with other dogs. She’s smart and a quick learner, we’ve seen tremendous improvement in her behavior in a very short amount of time. Bailey loves playing and running around as much as she enjoys taking long naps and sleeping in. She prefers to be close to her humans when they are home, and will be very chill and most likely sleeping whenever she’s home alone. Although she hasn’t lived with kids as far as we know, she is always very sweet and gentle whenever kids in the street or park want to pet her. While sometimes with adults she will want to jump and play, she has never tried this with kids and just enjoys the pets and love from the little ones. We believe she would do best with a family that will give her lots of attention and room to play / run around to spend her energy. Additionally, Bailey LOVES car rides and playing in the water, so we think she would be great company on road trips and beach / lake adventures! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog.   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.    BE A FOSTER!!!   Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs! To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org! Murphy is 1 year and 2 months old and a big happy goofy guy. His family has no time to spend with him so want to find him a great home. He is neutered and UTD on vaccinations. He is potty trained and walks great on a leash. He looks bigger in pictures than he really is. He really loves kids and gets excited so maybe no small kids . He is a 53 pound big baby. He isn’t really a barker and storms don’t bother him. He does not appear to have any separation anxiety. Contact Teresa 2767910475. Also you can email rsimis2@gmail.com

Story
Meet Frankie, a remarkable 2-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart full of resilience and a zest for life. Despite spending most of his early days on the streets, Frankie’s remarkable ability to befriend fellow strays speaks to his social and compassionate nature. Since finding his way to our rescue, Frankie has effortlessly connected with every dog-friendly companion he’s encountered, always eager for playtime and new friendships. Frankie’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. A traumatic incident left him with a unique but endearing trait—a collapsed muscle in his head that doesn’t take away from his undeniable handsomeness. He’s a testament to the strength of his spirit, showing unwavering love for people despite the hardships he’s endured. Frankie’s distinctive appearance is only matched by his boundless energy and loyalty. His enthusiasm for life knows no bounds, and he thrives on staying active. While he’s not a fan of cats, his heart swells with affection for children, making him an ideal companion for families. Walking alongside Frankie is a pleasure, as he’s mastered leash manners to perfection. Weighing in at 80 lbs and boasting an athletic build, Frankie is ready to find his forever family. His differences make him extraordinary, his resilience is inspiring, and his love is unconditional. If you’re seeking a faithful and energetic companion to embark on adventures with, Frankie is the perfect match. Give this incredible dog the loving home he truly deserves. 💕 Frankie is in Texas, but his $395 adoption fee includes transport to you.

Story
Hi my name is Brad and I'm a very energetic puppy who loves to cuddle on the couch, play with all my toys and my foster moms cats toys. Cats are interesting and I don't mind them. I'm still getting used to walking on a leash but love running around in the backyard. Still learning to potty train outside and on these pads mom leaves with me but I'll get there. I love my brother Beach Off but my mom calls him Beach for short. We play and cuddle all day. My best friend in the whole world. Story
I am a 10-week old energetic boy who loves to run, hop and play with my toys, but I do crash hard after playing and take really good naps. I am also a big snuggler! I would love to rest my head on your shoulder and snuggle into your neck. I am doing good on crate training and have been practicing on potty training. I definitely know how to use a pee pad. I am a bit young to go for any significant walks, but I do try on my harness and leash and go for small walks outside. I play well with everyone in my foster family including their pups. Mandatory in person transfer date: October 15th at the Petsmart in Tysons Corner between 12:30-1:00 PM. All adopters must attend in order to finalize the adoption. ##1829094##
