Story
This wonderful boy's name is NICO. He is a Catahoula Leopard.  One of the most common breeds of dogs in the south and were originally used to drive Hogs and Cattle.  These dogs are very loyal and NICO would make a great family pet to add to yours.  He has the most distinguished glass eye (right) and makes him stand out from any other animal.  Nico can look intimidating but in fact is a very sweet boy. He enjoys walking on a leash and playing around with people.  Nico has beautiful puddled orange spots mixed with sandy white colors.  Nico is fully vaccinated and neutered as well as microchipped.  Nico can be transported to anywhere in the United States and Canada.  Please inquire about Nico or fill out his online application and consider making him an addition to your family.      se inquire about Nico or fill out his online application and consider making him an addition to your family.  ##1501785##

Story
Rye is searching for her forever home as the only animal so that she can soak up all the attention from her humans! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Rye is the most lovely creature and will love you unconditionally. She has a very cute curly tail and when she wags it, your heart will explode. She's a very go with the glow dog, and just happy to be around her people. She likes to go on walks and is well mannered on leash, even with lots of distractors like people, loud sounds, other dogs, and other random city things like scooters and suitcases. Rye is super smart and knows a million tricks, she's very food and praise motivated, always wanting to check in with you and make you smile. She rarely barks in the house, is crate trained, potty trained, and does well being left alone for a typical work day. Rye is very low maintenance and one of the easiest fosters I've never had the pleasure to care for. Rye has spent 2.5 of her 3 years of life in a rescue or foster, after being adopted as a baby (fit in our founder's palm she was so tiny!!) she was returned at 7 months due to a lifestyle change during COVID. Eventually, Rye was saved by our founder when she was going to be euthanized for space in another organization, and has been with her in foster ever since. While Rye loves her foster home and her foster mom, she's excited for a forever home full of treats, love, training, and cuddles. ATTRIBUTES: Rye can not go to a home with cats or kids. ------------ Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. We strive to provide accurate information on all of our animals however, we are unable to guarantee an animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or any other conditions. TO ADOPT OR FOSTER: Please apply on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org or email info@lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org if you have questions! TO DONATE: Please consider making a donation on our website at www.lailaslegacyanimalrescue.org so that Laila's Legacy can continue to provide lifesaving medical treatment and training.

Story
The eyes have it. Like, they really, really have it. Oakey has arresting blue eyes, (which are actually ice blue and brown if you look closely) and he puts them to good use staring intently at humans until they break down, confess all of their secrets, and beg forgiveness. Okay, maybe that's just us, but you'll see what we're talking about when that gaze comes your way. Oakey's intense eyes make him look quite serious, but he is actually a playful love-muffin! He loves balls and other toys, does a little dance at walk time and melts when he gets a good scritch. He has displayed wonderful dog skills in his foster homes, including tolerating the 2 year old pitbull begging him to play by racing circles around him and pouncing endlessly. He does enjoy a bit of calmer dog play, but Oakey has lived well as an only dog and definitely seeks a solid human bond. Oakey is house trained and crated trained, quiet and eager to please. He will be an amazing work-from-home buddy or companion on the walking trails. He has already shown us he is willing and able to adapt as long as a patient, loving human is nearby. Oakey is part of our Silver Paws Program and has had a comprehensive senior medical exam and bloodwork.

Story
Addie of the A puppies is an easy-going, social pup who made the long journey from Texas to find her forever home. Addie is 9 weeks old, and the the smallest of her Catahoula mix litter mates at 9 pounds. She is good with people, cats and other dogs. Addie is working hard on learning the rules in her foster home and is coming along really well with crate, house and leash training. She is a happy, loving puppy who would make a great family pal. The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training - no exceptions! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months. Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old Petconnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email cmacdonald@petconnectrescue.org **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
MEET SYLVESTER (call-sign Jester)! This stunning ~3 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix is 57 lbs of love. He is a loving and lovable guy who will bond to his person(s) quickly then follow you around with his big brown and part-blue puppy dog eyes. Sylvester has an amazing 'sit,' and he’s almost nailed 'down,' and is close on 'drop it' (which is good because he loves to pick up things he shouldn’t, see more below) and is very treat motivated and trainable.  Sylvester loves other dogs and does especially well with dogs his energy level and higher. He takes cues well and will leave a dog alone who doesn't want to play. Sylvester has lived successfully with dogs of all sexes and sizes, cats and finds sheep, goats, and horses to be fascinating. He does well in the car, is perfectly house broken, and is crate trained, although he would much prefer to sleep with you. He takes his job of man-of-the-house seriously and will let you know when a package is being delivered or the garbage is being carted off. He is also willing to fend off any and all bumps in the night, but settles quickly after the danger has passed. Sylvester loves his chew toys and hasn't taken his habit to shoes or furniture. He is still a young dog with lots of get-up-and-go, so an active home or one with a fenced yard and non-destructible balls would be ideal for his activity level. He would also enjoy being your running partner (if that's your thing), and he has the most adorable gait. He is working on not jumping on people when he meets them, but his love for life gets the better of him at times and he hasn't met anyone on his travels he doesn't like. Sylvester turns into a playful puppy when he's happy and uses his mouth to play. He sometimes likes to pick up objects he finds (like plastic, water bottle caps, and small childrens’ toys). Because of this, Sylvester should go to a home with children over the age of 10. Sylvester’s got the skills to be a fabulous member of a loving home. He is waiting for his forever home and we're hoping that he gets his happily ever after soon. Sylvester's adoption donation fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip.  You can apply for Sylvester by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.February 27, 2024, 4:14 pm
