Good With Kids: No young kids Good With Other Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Unknown Housetrained: Workin’ on it Crate Trained: Yes Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes Knows Basic Commands: Workin’ on it Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Moderate Special Needs: Physical Fence: Preferred Favorite Toy / Activity: Playing outdoors with dog pals. ARRIVAL STORY: Was relinquished by owner due to too many dogs in home. AGE / WEIGHT: 1.5 Yrs Old and 9lbs. PERSONALITY: Jake may be just 9 pounds, but inside that tiny frame is a heart waiting to blossom in the right hands. At about 1.5 years old, this sweet, soulful boy has already been through more than most pups ever should. Jake spent his early life in a home with too many dogs and not enough human love to go around. Despite that rough start, he’s learning every day what it feels like to be cherished — and he's ready to keep learning with you. In foster care, Jake has discovered the pure joy of playing tug with his dog pal Remi and the hilarious thrill of burying his favorite treasures in the yard. While he’s still working on a few basics like housetraining and commands, he’s already showing us his gentle, quiet spirit. You may never hear his unusual bark, but you’ll see his personality shine in the small moments: a tail wag in the yard, a happy trot beside his dog buddy, or a shy glance that slowly turns into trust. He’s a handsome mix of Chihuahua, Yorkie, Mini Schnauzer, Pomeranian, Toy Poodle, and a sprinkle of a few other breeds — a true one-of-a-kind companion! New Home: Jake is looking for a calm, patient home — ideally with a woman and another confident dog who can show him the ropes. He can be a little fearful, especially around men (he never really got to know them before), but he’s never shown any aggression. With time, understanding, and lots of love, Jake will reward you in ways only a dog who has truly learned to trust can. If you have experience with shy or unsocialized dogs, and your heart is open to watching a once-nervous little boy learn to feel safe, Jake will be your greatest joy. CONTACT: Please contact wtdr@waggintailsdogrescue.org with any questions or submit adoption application via our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoption-application. ADOPTION INFO: We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar on our website for the date and time of the next adoption event. Arrangements can be made to meet a dog outside of adoption events after an application is submitted and approved. Our adoption process includes an application and in-home meet-n-greet with the dog. -Adult Dog Adoption Fee - $250 -Senior Dog Adoption Fee - $125 -Pup Adoption Fee - $250 plus $50 spay/neuter deposit refunded upon proof of surgery by 6 mos.

Like a little seashell waiting to be discovered, Pixie may be a little shy at first—but with patience and kindness, she quickly opens up into a playful, affectionate, and loving companion. 🌸 🌴 A little more about Pixie: 🐾 Current on vaccinations and prevention 🐾 Will be spayed through the rescue 🐾 Loves attention and is very food motivated 🐾 A true dog-lover who enjoys canine companionship 🐾 Potty trained and pee pad trained 🐾 Enjoys car rides and rides well 🐾 Has done great free-roaming with other dogs 🐾 Not crate trained—crates can feel scary for her 🐾 No exposure to children yet Pixie is a high-energy little beach buddy who loves being part of the action. Story
Meet Dina & Dante: A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home! Dina and Dante are an adorable bonded pair of Chihuahuas searching for a patient and loving home. While they can be shy when meeting new people, their sweet personalities shine through once they feel safe and secure. Dina is a 2-year-old bundle of personality. Once she’s comfortable, she’s playful, energetic, and always ready for fun. She loves going on walks where she can stop to sniff and explore the world at her own pace. At home, you’ll often find her zooming around, playfully tackling Dante during their wrestling matches, keeping the yard safe from squirrels, or stretched out in a sunny spot for a cozy nap. Dante is a 3-year-old sweetheart with a gentle soul. He can be very shy at first, but once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll discover just how affectionate he is. Dante’s favorite way to show his love is by rolling over to offer his belly and asking for face rubs. He absolutely melts when you rub his ears and cheeks. While Dina may enthusiastically pounce on him during playtime, Dante’s response is usually to roll onto his back and happily let her win. His energy level is a little more relaxed than his best friend’s—he’s happiest napping in a sunny spot or quietly people-watching from a safe distance. Together, Dina and Dante balance each other perfectly. Dina brings confidence and playful energy, while Dante offers a calm, gentle presence. Their bond is undeniable, and they look to one another for comfort, security, and companionship. They would thrive in a calm home with adopters who understand that trust takes time. *Bonded pair *Dina 2 years old 7 lbs. *Dante 3 years old 9 lbs. *UTD on vaccines *Fixed (neutered and spayed) *Microchipped *Pee Pad Trained Apply TODAY: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Meet Happy. (The name is deeply ironic.) Happy is a 5-pound senior Chihuahua with approximately 13–14 years of experience judging everyone around her. After her owner passed away, this tiny tyrant found herself in an overcrowded Detroit shelter. We couldn't leave her there, so we scooped her up and brought her to safety. Since then, Happy has made her feelings about the world abundantly clear. Dogs? Absolutely not. Cats? Don't even ask. Children? She'd like to file a formal complaint. Strangers? Suspicious. You? Maybe. We'll see. Happy is looking for a retirement home where she can spend her golden years doing what she loves most: napping, eating gourmet meals, and silently evaluating your life choices from across the room. She isn't a cuddler. She doesn't want to play fetch. She doesn't care about your exciting day at work. What she DOES want is for her person to exist nearby at all times without making a big deal about it. Think of her less as a dog and more as a tiny, elderly roommate who pays no bills and occasionally screams at things. Happy currently enjoys a carefully curated menu of cooked hamburger and boiled chicken because she has standards. She is pee-pad trained but has occasional accidents and may need diapers in the future. She's earned the right to be a little high maintenance. Despite her spicy attitude, Happy deserves a soft place to land. Beneath all that Chihuahua sass is a little old lady whose world was turned upside down and who simply wants a quiet home to live out her remaining years in peace. Happy's Requirements: • No dogs • No cats • No children • No nonsense Happy's Stats: • Approximately 13–14 years old • 5 lbs. of pure audacity • Up-to-date on vaccines • Microchipped • Pee-pad trained • Professional nap enthusiast • Tiny dictator seeking her kingdom If you've ever thought, "I wish my pet loved me slightly less," then Happy may be the girl for you. Story
🚨 URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED 🚨 Meet Alice 💛 Alice is a senior girl looking for a very specific, understanding home. We believe in being completely transparent about her needs so that any potential placement puts both Alice and her adopter in the best possible position for success. Alice has significant, progressive medical conditions, including Cushing’s disease, a grade 3 heart murmur/enlarged heart, severe arthritis and spinal changes, chronic pain, dental disease, mammary nodules, and possible vision impairment. Her mobility is limited, and discomfort greatly affects her behavior. Alice tends to bond intensely with one person and can become fearful and reactive toward others. She has a history of growling, lunging, and multiple inhibited bites/bite attempts toward adults, primarily men, as well as incidents involving cats. Most have not caused injury, although one recent incident involved holding onto a pant leg with significant pressure. She can also resource guard her preferred person. Because of this history, Alice requires an exceptionally specific home: one adult woman, no men, children, cats, or dogs, and no apartments or condos. A securely fenced private yard is required. Her adopter must be experienced with fearful/reactive dogs, understand canine body language, and be comfortable with lifelong management and significant veterinary expenses. Alice struggles with separation, confinement, strangers, movement, noise, handling, and activity that increases her pain. Despite veterinary care, medication, professional training, and extensive management, her progress has been limited. Alice isn’t a dog for everyone. She needs someone who fully understands her medical and behavioral history and is prepared to prioritize her comfort, safety, and quality of life above everything else. 💛 Interested in fostering Alice?
