IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. MEET EMMY LOU: Emmy Lou is a precious 4-month-old, 11-pound short hair Chihuahua who has endured a challenging start to life. Emmy Lou was rescued from a hoarding situation where she lived among over 50 Chihuahuas in the home of an 84-year-old woman. As a result, she is still quite shy and learning to trust. Emmy Lou is at a crucial age where she can still learn and grow with the right guidance. She has already experienced significant changes, and she now needs a quiet and patient home where she can continue to build her confidence. Due to her timid nature, it is best for Emmy Lou to be in a household without young children. Additionally, she will require a physical fenced yard as she has not yet learned proper leash manners. In her previous environment, Emmy Lou was not given the opportunity to go outside to relieve herself. However, she appears to be potty pad trained and may need further reinforcement. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, she can learn to go outside to do her business. Emmy Lou has had a positive experience with a cat, showing that she may be able to peacefully coexist with other animals. However, due to her background, she will need a patient family who understands the struggles she has faced. It is important to provide her with a decompression period and allow her to adjust at her own pace. At her young age, Emmy Lou is still discovering the world around her and may not be familiar with toys. She is not particularly food motivated, but with loving guidance, she may learn to enjoy playtime and develop new interests. When she feels scared or overwhelmed, Emmy Lou may run and hide, but it is crucial to note that she is not aggressive. Although it may take a little time for Emmy Lou to warm up to new people, she desires love and affection just like any other dog. With patience and understanding, she will become a loyal, devoted companion. Emmy Lou's journey has been challenging, but her resilient spirit shines through, and she is ready to start a new chapter in her life with a family who will support and cherish her. If you have a quiet and understanding home, and are willing to provide Emmy Lou with the time she needs to trust, she will reward you with unwavering love and devotion. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. MEET ANNABELL LEE: Hi there, my name is Annabelle Lee, and I'm a 5-year-old Chihuahua looking for my forever home. I may be on the smaller side, weighing just 11 pounds, but let me tell you, I have a heart full of love to give. You see, my story started in a home with over 50 other Chihuahuas. The elderly woman who cared for us did her best, but it became overwhelming for her. I was scared and fearful when I first arrived at the rescue, but thanks to the loving care of my foster mom, I've made great strides and am now a happy and social girl. I absolutely love attention and will follow my foster mom around, hoping for a little extra love and affection. Lounging on the couch is my favorite pastime, and I'm always up for a good play session with toys. Don't worry about my house manners, either. I've improved tremendously since I first arrived, and I'm eager to continue learning and growing. When it comes to other furry friends, I get along just fine. I play well with other dogs, and I've even met a chicken and a rabbit without any issues. Cats? No problem at all! They're just part of the gang. My foster mom says I would do well with older, dog-savvy children who can understand and respect my boundaries. One thing you should know about me is that when I get comfortable, I have bursts of energy and occasionally get the zoomies. It's all part of my playful nature! I've also started my leash training journey and am doing pretty well so far, but to be cautious I would still need a physical fenced yard at this time ans I'm sometimes too much of a lady to potty while on leash walks. I'm crate trained and quite the quiet girl, so you won't have to worry about me making a ruckus. Oh, and here's a fun fact about me: I can be a bit of a tease at times. I may play hard to catch, but then I'll swoop in for some snuggles and kisses. I absolutely adore giving kisses to my favorite humans. And guess what? I love sleeping in bed with my people. It's like having a cozy little slumber party every night! So, if you're looking for a sweet and affectionate companion, I could be just the one for you. I've come a long way from my fearful beginnings, and I'm ready to shower my new family with love and kisses. Will you be the one to give me the forever home I've been dreaming of?
