Story
Meet Izzy! This adorable 1-year-old pup may be growing up, but she’s still very much a playful puppy at heart. Izzy is looking for a patient, loving home ready to help her learn all the basics—she’s still working on her manners and potty training, and can be a little mouthy when she’s excited. The good news? She’s highly treat-motivated (especially if cheese is involved!), which makes training fun and rewarding. Once she gets her wiggles out, Izzy turns into a total cuddlebug who loves to snuggle up close. If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy companion to help shape into an amazing dog, Izzy might be the perfect match! - Around 1 years old - Currently under 20lbs - Adoption fee: $500 To inquire about this dog, please email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Include information about your family and pets, what you are looking for in a canine companion, how you plan to exercise and train this dog, and why this specific dog seems like a good fit for your family. Those who provide the previous information will be considered first for this canine. Please do NOT call our center. This will help us match you and the animal the best we can. We usually respond via email within 24-48 hours; please check your spam folder if you don't hear from us. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Boone is part of apir that came in together, however they are not bonded. Boone has been working on his socializing and will need someone with patience to help him overcome his fears- He has made progress, but it has been slow. He does love to play with other dogs and seems to warm up to them quickly. Once he does trust a human, he is very sweet and loving. Boone is a long haired chihuahua however, was shaved due to matting from neglect. His silver colors led us to believe he was older- however, we were surprised to see those beautiful clean teeth showing his age as young. He is actually VERY playful and would love someone who can teach him that not all humans are bad. Hes got a very big heart in that little body

Meet Oats! SEE BELOW FOR FOSTER UPDATES! HOUSE-TRAINED & CRATE-TRAINED CUTIE PIE! This six-year-old, 17-pound chihuahua mix is all about the good life and is eager to begin his life with you! Oats is currently enjoying some much needed r&r in an amazing foster home! House-trained and crate-trained, this little man aims to please! He is a feisty fella who enjoys a good game of tug and won't pass up a squeaky toy! He will sit nicely for all sorts of treats which he takes gently! His foster mom is able to take both toys and treats away with no issue. Oats rides very well in the car and is a rockstar on leash. He'll make the ultimate road trip companion and is ready to join you on all of your adventures! After playtime is done, Oats enjoys curling up by the fire and is most happy when he's with his people. He does appear to have a bit of a prey drive, so keeping him on leash or a tie out would be necessary if your yard is not fenced. At the end of the day, he sleeps quietly through the night. Based on our evaluation, we feel Oats will do best in an active, but predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. We feel he may have the potential to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think he could be the guy for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our outstanding Oats!

Story
***Adoption Pending*** What a happy boy with a nice smile! Leo is estimated to be about 5 years old and weighs 10 pounds. Meet Clark, a sweet and shy guy who is looking for his forever home! This little darling just wants to be close to you, leaning in for love. As you can see from his pictures, he does the best sit pretty for a treat! He may be a bit reserved at first, but once he opens up, you'll see his bright and loving spirit shine through. He is always up for a nice walk so he can explore and smell all the good smells, but he's just as happy curling up by your side at the end of the day. Clark is a true gentleman who will bring such joy and happiness to his new family. He would probably prefer a quiet, more predictable type home with respectful, older children since he is so little and a bit shy. If you are interested in Clark and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
