Such a beautiful lil boy with a big Personality- Benson is now ready for his forever home! Benson came from a situation were he was not very socialized and adapted quickly. He is VERY affectionate, Loves to play and is ready to live out his best life. In typical Chihuahua fashion, he thinks he is bigger than he is nad LOVES to play with the bigger dogs in our care... and he LOVES to be brushed- it is his favorite time of the day and usually falls asleep. (it's adorable, actually)

Story
Boone is part of apir that came in together, however they are not bonded. Boone has been working on his socializing and will need someone with patience to help him overcome his fears- He has made progress, but it has been slow. He does love to play with other dogs and seems to warm up to them quickly. Once he does trust a human, he is very sweet and loving. Boone is a long haired chihuahua however, was shaved due to matting from neglect. His silver colors led us to believe he was older- however, we were surprised to see those beautiful clean teeth showing his age as young. He is actually VERY playful and would love someone who can teach him that not all humans are bad. Hes got a very big heart in that little body

Story
Gigi is the cutest little 12-pound chihuahua mix who came to us after she found herself at Detroit Animal Care and Control (DACC). When we saw her sweet little face, we knew we had to get her out of there! Her foster says she is sweet, loving and can be a little shy at first but is quickly friendly. She is the perfect mix of independence and wanting to be with her people too. She can be a little unsure of new people at first, but that’s to be expected when people likely haven’t been so nice to her in the past! Gigi is considered dog-friendly and has not been cat tested yet. She is cautious with new dogs at first but seems to do well with them (always with slow and proper intros). She also met a three-year-old kiddo with her foster and did well and even began kissing him, so we anticipate she is kid-friendly (with proper intros). She is generally relaxed but does the cutest little spins when she is excited, like a tiny dancer! Gigi is a smart cookie and is already crate-trained, house-trained, and knows "sit" and "lay down" commands. • Chihuahua mix • 12 lbs • Estimated 3 years old • House & crate trained • Microchipped • Spayed • Up to date on medical • Loves playing in the yard then snuggling in your lap • Dog friendly (Anticipated kid-friendly; cats unknown) • Walks well on leash • Knows “sit” and “lay down” commands • Does the cutest little spins when excited Apply to meet and adopt Gigi here: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Olaf, the chocolate Chihuahua, is about 4.5 years old and looking for the perfect, quiet home with someone who is familiar with anxious and fearfully reactive dogs. He would do best in a home with no children, and not a lot of visitors. Cats are a no go for Olaf as are most other dogs. He would be ok with one small, submissive, low-key doggie friend as he likes to play occasionally, but he isn't very good at normal dog play. We lovingly think of Olaf's personality as a cat trapped in a dog's body. Olaf takes a daily anxiety medication to help him feel safe in his everyday environment. Olaf will need an understanding and patient person that will allow him space and decompression time when he gets overstimulated. Olaf is crate trained and for the most part potty trained. However, like any small dog he isn’t a fan of going outside in the rain or cold. He walks wonderfully on leash as long as no off leash dogs approach him, and he also loves to travel in the car. He does like affection on his own terms and will let you know when he no longer wants attention. Olaf's perfect home will need to be willing to give him time and show him patience as he is settling in to your lifestyle, they must also be willing to continue working on training to ensure he lives a happy and safe life. Most importantly Olaf will need a person that is NOT expecting a snuggly lap dog. While he will occasionally snuggle and sit on your lap, it will only happen when he chooses it. His perfect person would be looking for a tiny, quirky shadow that is content with his mere presence as companionship. Olaf is spay/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm tested and on prevention. Adoption fee for Olaf is $350. Story
Bella is a 7-year-old, about 9 pound Chihuahua mix. We believe she came from a home where she was not well socialized. She was surrendered to a local shelter, for unknown reasons, and immediately shut down, curled herself up into a tiny ball and would not let anyone touch her. She was transferred into rescue immediately and had to be taken to the vet for sedation to have her vaccinations. Bella still has anxiety when meeting new people. She will most likely need multiple visits before feeling comfortable with a new person, so adopters must be willing to make trips to the Port Huron area to meet with her before adoption. She will need a very quiet home, no cats. She would be okay with another small dog that would give her space. She does initiate play with my 3.5 pound male chihuahua, but she loves playing with her toys and sitting in the window watching the outside world. If she sees a cat she does react with a lot of noise and jumps from chair to chair. She does enjoy going outside in a fenced yard to sniff and run around. She is crate trained, sleeps in her crate at night and mostly potty trained. She does sometimes pee when over excited or stressed. She is submissive to pets and rolls over for belly rubs. She will jump up in the chair with us for a short period of time and then curl up in a bed on her own. She is NOT the typical snuggle bug. Bella will need a patient person who is experienced with nervous dogs. She will need someone who will give her time to decompress and adapt to her new environment and will not force her to interact before she is ready. Bella (Annabelle) is spay/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm tested and on prevention. Adoption fee for Bella (Annabelle) is $350. Story
I was taken from the big city shelter in the nick of time. I am cuddly, extroverted and curious. i will chase cats, but am fine with other dogs. I like them small so we can play. Very young children may be a bit too intense for my lifestyle. I do promise to be your best companion and "by your side" friend. NOTE: THIS DOG IS IN HOUSTON TEXAS AND TRANSPORTATION TO YOUR AREA WILL BE ARRANGED.
