Meet Chica
Chica is a 4-year-old, 4-pound Chihuahua mix with a delicate little frame and a gentle soul. This tiny girl came to rescue alongside her fur-sibling, Meekah, after their owner sadly lost her home. While the transition has been a big change for her, Chica is slowly settling in and looking for a quiet, loving home where she can feel safe and cherished.
Chica is a quiet and independent little lady. She can be a bit hesitant when meeting new faces, but once she begins to feel comfortable, she will come to you for attention on her own terms. Her trust is something special to earn, and when she chooses you as her person, it’s incredibly rewarding.
She has done well with other small dogs that respect her personal space, but due to her very tiny 4-pound size, she should not be placed in a home with large dogs. Chica has shown no negative feelings toward cats, so a calm feline companion could be just fine.
Because of her petite size, Chica will need an adult-only home where she can feel safe and not risk being accidentally stepped on. She is a small shadow and may quietly position herself nearby, so a household that can be mindful of her tiny presence is important.
In her previous home, Chica used potty pads, but she has since been introduced to a routine of going outside in a secure, physically fenced yard, which will be required in her new home. She loves relaxing in the sunshine, although she would much prefer to stay cozy inside during rain or storms.
Chica is crate trained and appreciates a calm, predictable environment. She may be a little shy at first, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into a sweet companion.
Chica is searching for a patient, loving family who will give her the time she needs to feel secure and loved — a home where she can finally settle in and stay furever.

OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
