Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ozlow is a small Chihuahua that is approximately 8 years old (he could be younger since he has no grays and plenty of spunk). He is a friendly guy but he especially loves his people and will follow them around the house. He is a perfect lap warmer and enjoys a good cuddle or snuggle.  Ozlow is a picky eater and prefers people food but he does eat wet dog food and small bite dry in certain brands. He has had many teeth pulled so does need soft food. Ozlow has a little separation anxiety when left alone and he does not like to be crated this causes him to whine and bark some. Ozlow has a loud bark and although he does not bark much, he would not be good in an apartment. Ozlow likes to sleep with his person. He is mostly house trained and will go to the bathroom outside if you take him out regularly but does need a little monitoring. He does get along with other dogs. Ozlow loves children, but his size and age would make him better with older considerate children. Ozlow is very devoted to his people and would make a great companion. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi everyone!  My name is Memo (pronounced Mee-Moe). I was found wandering the cold streets of Detroit and I really hope to find a nice comfortable home soon! I was really scared at first, but after a couple of days in my foster home, I was able to open up and start enjoying life. I have long legs, so I am really good at running. I love walks and exploring in the yard. I need slow introductions to other dogs and may be picky. I have ignored cats that I've met at adoption events but may like to chase. I am very sweet and affectionate, and I like to give kisses. I am vaccinated and neutered. I do have an issue with my eyes that will likely be lifelong. My eyes don't make tears so I will likely require eye drops lifelong, and several times a day. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. May 2, 2024, 9:42 pm

Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Watermelon is a very sweet estimated to be around 5-year-old Chihuahua searching for her forever home. She was rescued from a hoarding situation where she lived with over 60 other Chihuahuas. Watermelon is very shy and fearful like many of the others in the home. Watermelon would enjoy a quiet home where she can be loved the way she deserves to be. Watermelon would prefer a home without children. She has been fostered in a home with other dogs of various sizes and has had no issues. She will require a physical fenced yard as she has a tendency to be a flight risk out of fear. Watermelon is not potty trained but does use potty pads and is doing well with them, with consistent training she could become housetrained without the need of potty pads. Chihuahuas are very loyal and devoted and can become great companions when comfortable with you. Watermelon will take time to warm up and will need help learning how to be a “dog” but in the end shows great potential! If Watermelon sounds like the girl for you please submit an application!
