Story
Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Hi, I'm Georgie! 🐾 I came into rescue with my mom and my two brothers after our family could no longer care for us. My mom and brothers have all found their forever homes, but I had to stay with my foster family a little longer after giving my foster mom quite a scare. One night, I had a seizure, so she rushed me to the emergency vet. They ran lots of tests, and all of my lab work came back normal. I even visited a veterinary neurologist (a doctor who knows all about brains!), and my exam didn't show anything out of the ordinary. Just to be safe, I'm taking medication three times a day to help prevent seizures. The neurologist thinks it may have been a one-time event, and there's a chance I won't need medication forever—but for now, it's helping me stay happy and healthy. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let me tell you the fun stuff! I'm about 3½ months old, weigh around 4 pounds, and I'm a tiny bundle of personality! My foster family thinks I'm a Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix, which means I've got lots of spunk packed into my little body. I love to play, and I get along wonderfully with kids, cats, and other dogs. I'm also doing a great job with my potty training! I hope my medication doesn't scare you away. It doesn't slow me down one bit, and I promise I'm just as sweet, playful, and loving as they come. I'm looking for a family who will see how special I am and give me the forever home I've been waiting for. I am also spayed and up to date on vaccinations. If you think I might be the perfect little lady for your family, I'd love to meet you. Please fill out an application—I can't wait to find my happily ever after! ❤️ Adoption fee: $400 Adoption application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HPH/Dog

Story
Meet Dina & Dante: A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home Dina and Dante are an adorable bonded pair of Chihuahuas searching for a patient, loving family willing to give them the time they need to blossom. While they can be shy when meeting new people, their sweet personalities shine through once they feel safe and secure. Dina is a 2-year-old bundle of personality. Once she’s comfortable, she’s playful, energetic, and always ready for fun. She loves going on walks where she can stop to sniff and explore the world at her own pace. At home, you’ll often find her zooming around, playfully tackling Dante during their wrestling matches, keeping the yard safe from squirrels, or stretched out in a sunny spot for a cozy nap. Dina is also a bit of a chatterbox and will occasionally serenade you with an adorable little howl. Dante is a 3-year-old sweetheart with a gentle soul. He can be very shy at first, but once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll discover just how affectionate he is. Dante’s favorite way to show his love is by rolling over to offer his belly and asking for face rubs. He absolutely melts when you rub his ears and cheeks. While Dina may enthusiastically pounce on him during playtime, Dante’s response is usually to roll onto his back and happily let her win. His energy level is a little more relaxed than his best friend’s—he’s happiest napping in a sunny spot or quietly people-watching from a safe distance. One of his favorite pastimes is playing with his rope toy while lying on his back, making for an irresistibly adorable sight. Together, Dina and Dante balance each other perfectly. Dina brings confidence and playful energy, while Dante offers a calm, gentle presence. Their bond is undeniable, and they look to one another for comfort, security, and companionship. They would thrive in a calm home with adopters who understand that trust takes time. With patience, kindness, and plenty of love, you’ll watch these two transform into loyal, affectionate companions who will reward you with endless smiles, cuddles, and heartwarming moments. If you’re ready to open your heart to two deserving little dogs, Dina and Dante are ready to spend the rest of their lives showing you just how special a second chance can be.
