You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi everyone!  My name is Memo (pronounced Mee-Moe). I was found wandering the cold streets of Detroit and I really hope to find a nice comfortable home soon! I was really scared at first, but after a couple of days in my foster home, I was able to open up and start enjoying life. I have long legs, so I am really good at running. I love walks and exploring in the yard. I need slow introductions to other dogs and may be picky. I have ignored cats that I've met at adoption events but may like to chase. I am very sweet and affectionate, and I like to give kisses. I am vaccinated and neutered. I do have an issue with my eyes that will likely be lifelong. My eyes don't make tears so I will likely require eye drops lifelong, and several times a day. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. She was rescued from a hoarding situation where she lived with over 60 other Chihuahuas. Watermelon is very shy and fearful like many of the others in the home. Watermelon would enjoy a quiet home where she can be loved the way she deserves to be. Watermelon would prefer a home without children. She has been fostered in a home with other dogs of various sizes and has had no issues. She will require a physical fenced yard as she has a tendency to be a flight risk out of fear. Watermelon is not potty trained but does use potty pads and is doing well with them, with consistent training she could become housetrained without the need of potty pads. Chihuahuas are very loyal and devoted and can become great companions when comfortable with you. Story
Are you looking for a tiny companion to keep you company for movie night or just a buddy to lounge around the house? Meet Smithers! What Smithers lacks in size, he makes up for with his larger-than-life personality. He enjoys going for walks to sniff and explore and eating tasty snacks has got to be the best part of his day. Smithers is best suited for a home with older children, as he isn't shy about letting you know when he doesn't want to share his goodies or doesn't want to be picked up and cuddled. He should meet all children in the home before adoption to check if he is a good match for your household. Here at the shelter, Smithers enjoyed playing with other gentle and social pups and may like a doggy friend in his new home as well. Ideal home for Smithers:- children 12 years and older, children must meet, may benefit from adult-only home- may like a little doggy friendSmithers benefitted from time in a foster home. His foster reports that he rides well in the car, walks well on a harness, and gets along well with other dogs! He's a tiny couch potato who will sometimes get bursts of energy and want to play with his favorite people!

Story
A family in northern Alabama moved off and left six or seven little Chihuahua spaniel mixes behind. Their kind neighbor has been feeding them for over a year but they could not afford to get anyone spayed or neutered so of course there are puppies. Two little Chihuahua sisters, one chocolate and one black had puppies the same day with the same little blonde long-haired Chihuahua Spaniel mix dad. Blossom and Reese belong to the chocolate mama and Bubbles belongs to the black mama. They are all very precious. Bubbles is the smallest at about 6 pounds, Blossom is about seven and Reece is about eight lbs. They were born the last of January so they are now 12 weeks old. They have had two sets of shots and worming and will get spayed/neutered next week and will be ready to go to their new homes. The moms are about 15 pounds and the dad is between 15 and 20 pounds so they will remain small. They have been around a gentle four-year-old girl that loved them and they were all very good with her. They are sweet and friendly and outgoing! If you would like to make cute little Reece your new forever family member, please contact OMLC 7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@ gmail.com and we will send our info and application. East TN! Out of state welcome and if you are seeing this on Adopt a pet the transport fee is included in the adoption fee. Transport available to the north east or Great Lakes area. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. Welcome Miss Daisy to Pet Path! This little lady is soooo sweet and very confident. She is such a doll. Not sure of her mix but guessing Chihuahua and probably several other breeds. Her coat is medium length. She’s got the most gorgeous pair of knee high boots that nature can provide. That’s good news. She’s fashionable already and you don’t have to spend money on fashion statements. Her boots were made for walking but we are hoping someone will want to drive Miss Daisy home. Great with other dogs and older children (because of her size) she is tiny at about 10-12 lbs and about 1-1.5 years old. She was surrendered by her owners because they are older and could not keep up with her needs. She is just a young energetic little lady. Apply at petpath.org

These pups are in Livonia, Michigan too!

Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello my name is lollipop! I am a sweet timid old lady. I am looking for a home where I can live out my golden years, I’m estimated to be about 14. I really enjoy the company of other dogs but I am too old for play. I can be a little spicy when made to do something that makes me feel uncomfortable or by young dogs trying to play but don’t worry, I can’t bite you as I have no teeth!  I am very affectionate with my people and I love to cuddle. I’ve done very well with the children in my foster home but I do prefer children who aren’t going to try to pick me up or play rough. My foster mommy calls me a goofy old lady because I can’t see or hear very well, so sometimes I run into things or ignore her while she’s calling my name but never on purpose. If I sound like your perfect senior companion put in an application and come meet me!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
