Story
Sashya comes to us as a young, lovely little handicapped furball. We are not sure if his condition is one of neglect or being born this way and under the care of a clueless pet parent. He is a little dog, very friendly and needy, he doesn't know he's different and therefore he just wants to play with other dogs and be with someone constantly. He's cute as a button and loving. He has some sort of neurological problem when it comes to walking and steading himself. So he prances and tumbles. It could be he was born like this or that he never got his puppy distemper shot series as a pup. The owner was clueless when it comes to getting the dog to a vet, she actually never did. So we tend to believe his condition is due to not having puppy shots and he may have contracted one of the viruses puppies get when they are not protected by shots. He has been to the vet with us so far, we will be getting him vetted for the most part, shots and blood test and such. Heartworm check, etc. We are looking for a person who is either home all the time or has a partner who works opposite schedules. Sashya really needs someone around most of the time or can go with them. He's okay home alone for a few hours if you have a playpen area set up for him. He's great. He really can not roam the house unsupervised because he can fall down or get stuck and not be able to get lose himself. He's like a person with cerebral palsy but of course a dog who can not care for himself. Left to himself he would have trouble doing many things. So a experienced person with handicapped pets is needed for him. Someone with a medical background. Just as far as being able to help Sashya out when he's having difficulty being mobile. He might do good in a wheelchair as far as some of the time to steady himself. He's a sweet, loving little soul. He's tiny and easy to carry around either by himself or in a front back pack and he loves other dogs and would probably be fine with cats. A mature household only and one that has quick access to getting outside. He doesn't need much of a yard because he can't go far, but loves being outside and he does go potty outside. A wonderful companion for someone who has the good soul and heart to care for someone a little needy, loyal and a loving companion. Story
Pepper is our nine year old chihuahua mix rescue from Tennessee. We have had him four years. He is the best snuggler in the world. He does play with toys, but he does not play with people like fetch. He sleeps in the bed with his human. My son was 13 when we got him, so he has not been around young kids. He is not aggressive, but he is shy and easily frightened. He loves walks and begs for food all of the time. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ozlow is a small Chihuahua that is approximately 8 years old (he could be younger since he has very little gray hairs and plenty of spunk). He is a friendly guy but he especially loves his people and will follow them around the house. He is a perfect lap warmer and enjoys a good cuddle or snuggle.  He likes to nuzzle his person's neck and will even give a kiss here and there. Ozlow can be picky eater and prefers people food but he does eat well if some people food is mixed in to dry food. Ozlow would prefer someone who is home more than not He is not a fan of the crate. Ozlow has a loud bark and although he does not bark much, he would not be good in an apartment. Ozlow likes to sleep with his person. He is house trained and will go to the bathroom outside if you take him out regularly. He does get along with other dogs. Ozlow loves children, but his size and age would make him better with older considerate children. Ozlow is very devoted to his people and would make a great companion.  This is not your typical small dog.  He hardly ever barks, is incredibly smart and wants to please.  He hops in the car and loves a drive through of any kind ( buscuits, frosty, hot dog!) Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi everyone!  My name is Memo (pronounced Mee-Moe). I was found wandering the cold streets of Detroit and I really hope to find a nice comfortable home soon! I was really scared at first, but after a couple of days in my foster home, I was able to open up and start enjoying life. I have long legs, so I am really good at running. I love walks and exploring in the yard. I need slow introductions to other dogs and may be picky. I have ignored cats that I've met at adoption events but may like to chase. I am very sweet and affectionate, and I like to give kisses. I am vaccinated and neutered. I do have an issue with my eyes that will likely be lifelong. My eyes don't make tears so I will likely require eye drops lifelong, and several times a day. If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. May 25, 2024, 2:41 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Perry is a very sweet but nervous 3 year old, 12.5 lb Chihuahua mix searching for his forever home. He was rescued from a hoarding situation where he lived with 60 other Chihuahuas. Perry is shy and fearful at first like many of the others in the home, but warms up nicely with some patience and is a real cuddler when he is sleepy. Perry would enjoy a quiet home where he can be loved the way he deserves to be. He does get nervous about being handled and loud sounds. He has been fostered in a home with cats and has had some issues with barking at them and charging them but he does not make contact with them. He will likely do fine with strong willed cats. He will require a physical fenced yard as he has a tendency to be a flight risk out of fear. Perry is doing well with potty training but does not ask to go out yet.  Chihuahuas are very loyal and devoted and can become great companions when comfortable with you. Perry will take time to warm up and will need help learning how to be a “dog”.  He needs a home with people who are understanding of his situation and are willing to take time to gain his trust. Perry is pretty attached to Ollie and gets along well with him. They came from the same situation (Perry and Ollie) please consider adopting him with his friend Ollie to help his comfort and confidence.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
