🐾💕 Meet Amber! 💕🐾 Amber is an approximately 1–2 year old Chihuahua with a heart full of love and a personality that will absolutely melt you. This tiny sweetheart is all about her people and thrives on attention, affection, and being right by your side. If you’re looking for a little shadow who will follow you around and shower you with kisses, Amber is your girl! 💋🐶 Amber has a playful, fun-loving spirit and enjoys spending time playing, snuggling, and soaking up all the love she can get. She has a gentle, sweet nature that makes her a wonderful companion. She can be a little nervous around other dogs and cats, so slow introductions and patience will help her feel safe and confident. She does great with kids and would love a family who will give her plenty of love and reassurance. This smart little lady is puppy pad trained, up to date on all her vaccinations, and is scheduled for her spay, which will be covered by the rescue. Amber is ready to find her forever home where she can be spoiled, loved, and treasured like she deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and adorable best friend, Amber is waiting to meet you! 🏡❤️🐾

Story
Meet Alice! Alice is a female chihuahua mix weighing in at 7 pounds. She is on the search for her fur-ever home! Alice was born in September 2019 which makes her just over 6 years old now. Poor Alice was not treated well prior to coming into rescue. It is believed she was used as a breeder dog at a backyard breeder. She has come a long way since being with her foster family. Alice needs to be treated like the queen she is- she deserves the finest things in life! She is a fun-loving little gal, but has to live life on her terms. A few things to know about Alice: she really is not fond of other dogs, unless they are little and leave her alone, but even then, she can be cranky with them. That being said, it has been determined that Alice should be the only dog in her new home. She will need an adult only home, no kids at all. Alice also needs time to get to know new people- all of her vets talked to her first, walked around the room so Alice could go to know them, then they would pick her up and she was okay with that. Alice doesn’t like people sticking their face in her face. She should be in a home without children but is good with adults who know how to handle her and be respectful. Alice is a good eater and not fussy when it comes to food. She likes car rides- her foster family has a seat that they buckle her into but it sits on the console in the middle of both adults and Alice really seems to love that! Due to her arthritis, she should go to a home without steps; she can’t go up stairs on her own. Her foster family has a ramp but most of the time they carry her outside to go potty and carry her back inside. She should be carried or have a stroller, as she should not walk that much, except for going potty and around the yard. As she gets older, she will need more care as she will develop severe arthritis, so maybe pain meds, anti inflammatories, maybe a cart; for now, she can get around and at the times she cannot, her foster parents carry her and/or use a stroller. Will you be the one to give a gal who hasn’t had a good start to life the best possible life from this point on? Alice’s adoption donation is $300. She is available for adoption in the midwest region, which is comprised of: OH, KY, IL, MI, WI. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. To submit an application go here: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled. Story
Rayne is a tan, short haired, deer head chihuahua in need of a family. She currently weighs around 8 pounds and is about five years old. Rayne has had a difficult life and needs to find a home where she will be loved and given a chance to flourish. Rayne becomes very attached to people and loves to snuggle. She does not do well with other animals (dogs or cats) as she is food aggressive and will nip at other animals and people when eating or when food is present. Due to her previous situation where she was being starved, she is food insecure. She has gained weight back from this situation and has a good bill of health from the vet. At times, Rayne will nip at people if she feels threatened or she thinks the person she is with is being threatened. Due to this, I would not recommend she be around children of any age. She does not bark or bite at people when they come into the house. She starts out weary of strangers and will come around slowly to them being present in the house. Rayne eats wet food as she has lost some teeth. She is up to date on vaccinations and rabies shots. She has been on a monthly treatment for heartworms. Rayne’s adoption donation is $300. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. Story
Meet Brownie – Your Loyal Little Shadow 🐾 Brownie is an 8-year-old sweetheart with a tender soul and a heart full of devotion. He may be a little shy and scared when you first meet him, but give him a little patience and kindness, and you’ll discover the most loyal companion you could ever ask for. Once Brownie warms up, he transforms into your very own personal lap dog. He absolutely loves to keep your lap warm while soaking up all the rubs and affection you’re willing to give. In return, he’ll offer you his whole heart. Brownie wants nothing more than to protect “his person” — it’s his way of showing gratitude for being kept safe and loved. He can happily share space with other animals, but he prefers friends who have proven themselves to be gentle and trustworthy. When he’s not curled up with you, you’ll often find him snuggled up with one of his dog buddies. And don’t let his cuddly side fool you — Brownie still loves to play and have fun! If you’re looking for a loyal little protector, a professional lap warmer, and a best friend who will adore you endlessly, Brownie might just be your perfect match. 💛
