Story
Meet and adopt me at Skyline Huber Heights (7603 Old Troy Pike) on Saturday, April 26th from 12pm-3pm. Meet Brock, a sweet and sensitive chihuahua mix. This little guy is looking for his special someone to bond with. He came from a shelter in Kentucky that lost their roof during the recent tornado outbreak. Brock really thrives when he can shower his affection on a close human companion. While he's full of love for his chosen people, little kids can be a bit much for him, and he can be particular about his furry friends. If you're looking for a devoted and loyal little shadow to call your own, Brock might just be your perfect match!

Lela is such a sweet girl who loves to lay on your lap but also still has plenty of energy to play with the big dogs. Her age does not stop this little one, she might just take a couple more breaks than the youngsters. She even tries to play with the cat! Her favorite thing seems to be laying outside in the sun.

Story
Meet Lucy! Lucy is a brown and white senior chihuahua looking for a loving home. Lucy is a sweet 12-year-old gal who’s ready to steal your heart! Lucy made her way to CRT when her mother died and her son surrendered Lucy to CRT. Lucy weighs in at 6 pounds. Despite being blind in one eye, Lucy’s spirit is as vibrant as ever. She navigates with grace and loves to cuddle up with her human friends. Lucy is looking for a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort. She would do best in a home where people are at home the majority of the time. She seems to do well with other small dogs around her size that are relatively chill and relaxed. She has not been tested around cats. This charming senior lady house trained, making her an ideal companion for a relaxed household. Lucy is leash trained and goes on walks. Though she sometimes panics if she loses sight of you, she calms back down once she finds you again and does well overall on a leash. Lucy is completely vetted and up to date on her vaccinations. She is spayed. She will be microchipped prior to adoption. As mentioned previously, Lucy is blind in one eye. Her other eye is a bit cloudy. Her foster mom has noticed some pacing with Lucy, so she takes melatonin twice daily and is going to start acupuncture soon to see if that helps with the pacing. Lucy does take a monthly heartworm prevention pill. If you’re ready to offer Lucy a cozy spot on your couch and a lot of love, she’d be thrilled to meet you! Lucy’s adoption donation is $250. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative. Reference checks and a home visit are required so midwest dogs can only be adopted in OH, KY, MI, WI, and IL.

Story
Meet Clark! Clark is a 3 year old, 15 pound male chihuahua mix who came to CRT from Tijuana, Mexico, via a rescue transport from Mutt Mutt Engine in early January. His foster family thinks he is part Chihuahua, part dachshund, and possibly mixed with another breed(s). Clark is a very sweet dog and loves his people. He will follow you around the house and wants to be where you are. If you’re sitting, he is on your lap and when you’re in bed he happily sleeps all night under the covers. He is also very protective of his people and when new people come into the home he is slow to warm up to them. Clark would do best in a home with a fence, as he has quite a large dog bark and just loves to run in the backyard because he has a lot of energy to burn outside. When inside, Clark is a couch/bed/lap potato. He is very good with recall and currently knows the commands sit and stay. Clark still needs work on his potty training. Currently he wears a belly band around the house. Clark also needs some training to teach him not to jump on his people, especially at mealtimes. Clark is treat motivated and with time and gentle patience he should be able to conquer both of these challenges. Clark strives to please! Leash walking will also need consistent effort, as it has been hard with the rough winter for his foster family to work consistently on that. He is currently being fostered in southeast Michigan. Clark gets along well with other small dogs, seems okay with bigger non-dominant dogs, and is uncertain about cats. He likely would not be a good fit for a home with young children. Clark’s adoption donation is $300. Clark is on monthly heartworm prevention. He has been fully vetted and is up to date on vaccinations. He has been neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.
