Story
Meet Lucy! Lucy is a brown and white senior chihuahua looking for a loving home. Lucy is a sweet 12-year-old gal who’s ready to steal your heart! Lucy made her way to CRT when her mother died and her son surrendered Lucy to CRT. Lucy weighs in at 6 pounds. Despite being blind in one eye, Lucy’s spirit is as vibrant as ever. She navigates with grace and loves to cuddle up with her human friends. Lucy is looking for a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort. She would do best in a home where people are at home the majority of the time. She seems to do well with other small dogs around her size that are relatively chill and relaxed. She has not been tested around cats. This charming senior lady house trained, making her an ideal companion for a relaxed household. Lucy is leash trained and goes on walks. Though she sometimes panics if she loses sight of you, she calms back down once she finds you again and does well overall on a leash. Lucy is completely vetted and up to date on her vaccinations. She is spayed. She will be microchipped prior to adoption. As mentioned previously, Lucy is blind in one eye. Her other eye is a bit cloudy. Her foster mom has noticed some pacing with Lucy, so she takes melatonin twice daily and is going to start acupuncture soon to see if that helps with the pacing. Lucy does take a monthly heartworm prevention pill. If you’re ready to offer Lucy a cozy spot on your couch and a lot of love, she’d be thrilled to meet you! Lucy’s adoption donation is $250. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. To submit an application go here……chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled. Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative. Reference checks and a home visit are required so midwest dogs can only be adopted in OH, KY, MI, WI, and IL.

Story
Meet Clark! Clark is a 3 year old, 15 pound male chihuahua mix who came to CRT from Tijuana, Mexico, via a rescue transport from Mutt Mutt Engine in early January. His foster family thinks he is part Chihuahua, part dachshund, and possibly mixed with another breed(s). Clark is a very sweet dog and loves his people. He will follow you around the house and wants to be where you are. If you’re sitting, he is on your lap and when you’re in bed he happily sleeps all night under the covers. He is also very protective of his people and when new people come into the home he is slow to warm up to them. Clark would do best in a home with a fence, as he has quite a large dog bark and just loves to run in the backyard because he has a lot of energy to burn outside. When inside, Clark is a couch/bed/lap potato. He is very good with recall and currently knows the commands sit and stay. Clark still needs work on his potty training. Currently he wears a belly band around the house. Clark also needs some training to teach him not to jump on his people, especially at mealtimes. Clark is treat motivated and with time and gentle patience he should be able to conquer both of these challenges. Clark strives to please! Leash walking will also need consistent effort, as it has been hard with the rough winter for his foster family to work consistently on that. He is currently being fostered in southeast Michigan. Clark gets along well with other small dogs, seems okay with bigger non-dominant dogs, and is uncertain about cats. He likely would not be a good fit for a home with young children. Clark’s adoption donation is $300. Clark is on monthly heartworm prevention. He has been fully vetted and is up to date on vaccinations. He has been neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. This cutie is Chance! Chance is a 7 year old, 14 pound male chihuahua mix in need of a forever home. Chance has white and cream fur, the cutest floppy ears, and a great smile! Chance is very playful and loves to wiggle and squirm around. He can be a bit nippy at first when he’s scared and can be a little slow to warm up, but once he trusts, he is the perfect companion. Chance is the perfect mix of energetic and snuggly. Even his foster mom’s resident chihuahua, who usually isn’t a fan of other dogs, loves Chance! Chance is housetrained. He is also up to date on all vaccinations and has been completely vetted. He has been neutered and microchipped as well. He is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm prevention. Chance’s adoption donation is $300. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. Story
Bruiser – The Tiny Senior with a Big Spirit Meet Bruiser, a 12-year-old Chihuahua mix who may be small in size and visually impaired, but his heart and personality shine bright. This little 10-pound gentleman was found abandoned in an apartment with another dog, yet he hasn’t let that dim his zest for life. Bruiser is full of spunk and still has plenty of pep in his step. He loves attention, enjoys being near his people, and proves every day that age is just a number. Despite everything he’s been through, he’s resilient, loving, and ready to spend his golden years being cherished. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who embodies strength and spirit in a tiny package, Bruiser is your guy. This pet is available through SICSA Pet Adoption & Wellness Center, located at 8172 Washington Church Road, Washington Township, OH 45458. We are open Monday through Saturday from 12pm-7pm. Story
Can you feel it in the air? That slight coolness preparing you for the color change of the leaves and smell of apple orchards. Need a buddy that will jump into fall leaves with you but enjoy snuggles during a football game? Then meet Tobey! Tobey is a 1 yr old Pomeranian. He is very friendly and playful. He loves to learn and activities that involve a challenge for him. He loves to play fetch. He is still young so he will need someone committed to training him. He has been responding well with his current foster who is teaching him "wait". Tobey would respond best to a home with no cats and or another dog around his age in the house. After an active day he loves to snuggle up next to you and will show you his thanks with a few kisses. He is crate trained and would benefit best from an adopter who will use a crate when out of house. If you are interested in Tobey, please apply at pawpatroldayton.com. Adoption fee is 360 dollars and includes microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and neutered. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.
