.WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org The adoption fee is $450.00 which includes their transport, spay/neuter and all vetting. Ernest - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Ernest Goes To Jail, yes, to my embarrassment and dismay, I was found as a stray and spent some time in the doggie slammer. It seemed like forever!! But thanks to this rescue I got out on good behavior and am ready for that freedom ride! Yes, Ernest Rides Again!!! I'm just hoping your home is my last ride!! I have been working on the whole house and crate training thing and have got it down. I may have spent most of my life outside but I've caught on quickly. I coming to see that this whole living inside with a soft bed and a warm lap to lay on is pretty darn nice!! I would do best in a quiet adult only home. I'm needing my space but will come seeking companionship when I want it. Kinda like a cat in that sense. I do well with other dogs but would prefer a more mellow sibling that isn't too bouncy and constantly in my space. At 9 years and only 11lbs I would make a great family addition for someone that is looking for a great lil guy to chill with them. I'm already out of that destructive stage but still enjoy neighborhood strolls and catching some rays in the backyard. If you're looking for that needy pup that is always under foot seeking you attention, I'm not your boy. But if you want an independent lil guy that is just happy being in the same room, I might just be that lil man!! I would love to be your lil side kick....so what do ya say? Can I come home with you?!!

Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org The adoption fee is $500.00 which includes their transport, spay/neuter and all vetting. Mandy - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! The name Mandy is short for Amanda which means worthy of love or loveable. Mandy's are also known to be friendly, outgoing, and optimistic. They also are simple, honest, sincere, and have a natural talent for bringing people together. At only 4 months I am an active playful pup that still has a lot of learning to do, and with your help, I'm ready to ROCK it!! My house training is coming along and I'm getting pretty good at going outside to potty. I do real well with the other foster pups here and would love having a playful sibling to torment...oops, did I say that out loud? I meant to say play with. ;) At around 5lbs I should be around the 10lb range when I get fully growed up. I'll stay on the small side so it'll be easy to just scoop me up and take along on all your daily activities. My favoritest time is you and me time, no matter what we're doing!! And the bestest thing is I don't take up much room on the couch or recliner. I'm a perfect fit for just about any lap! The sun is shining up in the sky, throwing you your little shadow...ME! Never be by yourself again, I'll follow you from room to room to outside to back inside. Even when the sun goes away at the end of the day, you'll know it's still there cuz I will always be right there!!

Jack - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! I tried to go up the hill (on my search for a family) with my sister, Jill like the nursery rhyme but it didn't fare well for us either. We were picked up by Animal Control. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately we were taken to a small rural shelter where we were saved by a rescue. Now I have the great fortune of you finding me so I can have that wonderful life I was searching for. I am a youngster at around 9 months. I can be a tad bit shy at first meet but it only takes me a NY minute and maybe a treat or 2 for my silly affectionate nature to shine thru. Then watch out, I'm your typical little boy that is playful, sweet and loves helping keep a smile on your face. I am partially house trained only having an occasional accident. I'm doing well with getting the hang of going outside to do my business and I'm a smart cookie (cuz my foster mom says so!!) and should have it down pat in no time. But I am crate trained and well on my way to being a pawsome lil family member. But you may need to keep your shoes picked up, cuz psst...I like shoes especially flip flops and sometimes I don't remember that they aren't mine! Coming in at my 13lbs I shouldn't get much bigger (depending on my treat intake) and will make an awesome size for well...everything! I'm big enough for your adventures but small enough to not take up the whole couch for my cherished cuddle time. After my playtime I sure do love my cuddle time!! I am active an playful enjoying tormenting my sister, oops did I say that out loud, I meant playing with my sister and the other foster pups here. I would love to have a sibling to romp around the yard, to have a playmate to dine with, nap with and share our days together. Oh my, what could be better then that?! With my short gorgeous coat I am on the low maintenance side of the grooming department. I'm pretty much a wash-n-go type of fella which you know what that means don't ya? That just gives both of us extra time in the spoil me rotten department! Now, that's what I'm talking about!! Sweet and affectionate, playful and energetic, add in my handsome studdliness (I made that word up just for me) and you have the makins for a great family addition. I just don't have that family...yet. Could It be YOU I've been searching for?!

Fritz - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Fritz is my name and fun and happy times is my game. I'm a happy boy of about 9lbs. I shouldn't get much if any bigger at my adult weight. With this size fun times are sure to be had. I'm perfect for taking on car rides for errands or just a simple sight seeing trip, nice neighborhood strolls or a walk to the local coffee shop ( a puppaccino for me, pleeease!), going on mild nature hikes, helping in the yard (I'm a great supervisor!) or best of all, I don't take up much room on the couch for my beloved cuddle time!! At around 10 months I'm still a playful boy that enjoys romping around with the other foster pups here. I would be over the moon with a sibling I could run around the yard with stealing....err I meant sharing toys! I'm pretty low in the maintenance department, kind of wash-n-go type of fella. And you know what that means don't you? More time for the both of us in the 'spoil me rotten' department. You better believe that's what I'm all about! I am partially housebroken and doing well with knowing to do my business outside and I'm already crate trained. My foster mom says I'm a smart cookie and I should have this down in no time. Sweet and affectionate, playful and lovin life to the fullest. Add in my charming good looks and I've got the makings to become a pawsome family member. I just need...YOU!!

Story
AJ was an owner surrender. The son fell on hard times and left AJ with his parents. The parents wanted to rehome him because they had financial problems of their own and because he was not housetrained. However, we have not had any problems with him going potty in the house. He goes to the door when he wants out. AJ is a very handsome chihuahua weighing 10 pounds. He is an older guy, maybe around 8 years of age. AJ is a very good boy and not a stereotypical chihuahua. He is wary of new people but warms up with time. AJ is crate-trained and well-behaved in the house. He rides well in the vehicle, walks well on a leash, and comes when called. AJ is fairly quiet, he only barks when he wants to come back in the house after he goes outside. He spends most of his time lying on the couch or in his bed. He does like treats and he plays with other small dogs on occasion. He does get bossy and tries to dominate the larger male dogs. One of our large males got mad and cuffed him to put him in his place. So we would recommend that he not be allowed to interact with larger dogs that might hurt him. AJ is fine with other small dogs and would probably also do well with cats. AJ is small and delicate and must be protected from rough treatment by children or big dogs that could hurt him. He must also be protected from raptors and other outdoor predators. AJ must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and would like a fenced yard to sniff and explore. AJ is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. AJ is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. He had a dental and his 4 upper incisors had to be removed. The rest of his teeth were in good shape. AJ had some back problems when we first got him. The vet prescribed a daily anti-inflammatory (Meloxidyl) to help with the pain. AJ is now doing much better and doesn't need his medication every single day. His back problems may have been associated with the stress of a new environment with a lot of other dogs. However, AJ does need dog steps to get on and off furniture and a bit of care when he is picked up to avoid hurting his back. Applicants must be able to afford refills of his medication (which is not expensive) and be able to take him to the vet as needed. We would really love AJ to have a fabulous forever home. His adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to the Pittsburgh area. He is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted.
