Story
Hello, my name is Kevin Bacon. Yes, like the actor. He was so connected to everyone in Hollywood, separated by 6 degrees or less, and I want to be connected to people in that same way. My life didn’t start in a good way for me to be ready to be this well connected, though. I'm a 2-year-old, 16-lb Chihuahua mix and just a month ago, I didn't even know how to be a dog. I didn't know that I could trust people. I didn't know what it was like to be loved. Now I am discovering that this can be how I live my life forever! Right now, I am still very shy. I need a very patient person who I can warm up to. But if they give me time, I will be there for cuddles full-time. I don't think I can handle small children. I have some trust issues and I am just discovering people can be nice to me, but I don't know about children. I am fine with other dogs around me, but they need to give me my space. I don’t know how I would get along with cats. I don't know what a cat is. I think there are lot of things for me to discover still. I think car rides are pretty good, but I don't know about being outside? When I walk to the park, cars and loud noises kind of frighten me. I'll probably come around to normal dog life. Right now, I would say that I prefer a quiet home, and possibly a nice quiet yard to relax in. I just want what every dog wants - to be loved and cared for, and to have some people who I can love back. Thanks for reading my bio. I hope I can find my people soon. If you're the steady hand that Kevin Bacon is looking for, please complete an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationAugust 5, 2026, 7:59 am

Story
Nuggie is a 15-year-old Chihuahua with so much love to give! He’s a devoted companion who finds comfort in being close to his person, and truly thrives on that special one-on-one bond. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and brings a calm, easygoing presence to a quiet home. Nuggie will be happiest with someone who is around most of the time to help him feel safe and secure. Because of his sensitive nature, Nuggie needs an experienced, patient, adult-only home—ideally with one dedicated caregiver. He can be a bit particular about his space and handling at times, so he’ll do best with someone who understands small dogs and can read his cues, giving him the consistency and respect he needs to feel comfortable! In return, Nuggie will be a deeply loyal little companion who just wants a cozy place, a steady routine, and a person to love with his whole heart.

Meet Pepino Abandoned as a Tiny Puppy—Now Ready to Find the Family He's Always Deserved ❤️ Breed: Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier Mix Gender: Male | DOB: December 03, 2026 | Weight/Size: 15 lbs (Small) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats ✔️ | Kids ✔️ Medical: ✔️ Neutered | ✔️ Vaccinations Up to Date | ✔️ Microchipped Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue provides safe transportation to approved adopters throughout the United States. https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Pepino's Story Pepino's story began with heartbreak but is now filled with hope. He was part of a litter of puppies abandoned and left without food, shelter, or anyone to care for them. At such a young age, Pepino should have been safe with his mother, learning and growing in a loving environment. Instead, he and his siblings were left to face an uncertain future until compassionate rescuers stepped in and gave them the second chance they so desperately needed. Today, Pepino is a healthy, happy young dog with a cheerful personality that's impossible not to love. He has an affectionate heart, a playful spirit, and an endless curiosity about the world around him. Whether he's chasing a ball, exploring the backyard, or greeting everyone he meets with a wagging tail, Pepino approaches life with enthusiasm and joy. Pepino is incredibly social and enjoys spending time with people of all ages. He gets along wonderfully with children, other dogs, and even cats, making him a fantastic addition to many different types of families. He's equally happy joining you for an adventure or curling up nearby for some quiet companionship. As a Chihuahua / Jack Russell Terrier Mix, Pepino combines the loyal devotion of the Chihuahua with the intelligence, confidence, and energetic nature of the Jack Russell Terrier. He's eager to learn, enjoys staying active, and thrives when he's included in family life. With continued training and positive reinforcement, he'll grow into a wonderful lifelong companion. Pepino would thrive in a home that offers: Plenty of love and companionship Daily walks and playtime Positive reinforcement training Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization with people and other pets A consistent daily routine A safe indoor home where he's treated as a cherished member of the family A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment Pepino has already overcome a difficult beginning. Now all he wants is a family that will love him unconditionally and give him the happy future every dog deserves. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Although Pepino is still young, he's at a wonderful age to continue learning and developing into a confident adult dog. Like all rescue dogs, he'll need a little time to adjust to his new home and routine. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to learn your household routine 3 Months to fully settle into family life Pepino is intelligent, eager to please, and responds well to positive reinforcement. Continued training and socialization will help him build confidence and strengthen the bond with his new family. His new family should continue providing: Positive reinforcement training Daily exercise and interactive play Consistent routines and gentle guidance Continued socialization with people and other animals Mental enrichment through toys and games Plenty of love, patience, and encouragement With kindness and consistency, Pepino will grow into a loyal, well-mannered companion who will bring years of happiness to his forever family. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Adopting Pepino is a lifelong commitment that includes providing excellent veterinary care, exercise, companionship, and a loving home. As part of responsible pet ownership, Pepino will need: Annual veterinary wellness examinations Routine vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A nutritious diet to maintain a healthy weight Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment Continued training and socialization A safe, loving indoor home where he is treated as a cherished member of the family We recommend scheduling a wellness examination with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure Pepino continues to live a long, healthy, and happy life.
