Story
Hi everyone! Meet Snoopy.  He is a Long Hair Chihuahua Mix. He is a 14 pound ball of energy! His perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. He is always up for an adventure in nature! He loves jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards he can relax and snuggle on the couch. He is very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, he can play fetch or tug of war with his favorite squeaker toy. he can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. Dislikes: Walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for him, and he prefers the safety of home. He is also sensitive to certain noises, and will alert with a bark. We have been working on ways to provide a relaxing outlet when there is too much going on during walks like a Citronella Collar.  This is a big reason why having my own backyard would be amazing! I like to watch over my home, so new people must allow me a chance to feel safe around them.. Once they walk through the door,  It helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. I am a nervous dog by breed or nature.  I have been trying to build a more secure peronality.  A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: No young children.  I do better with adults. A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses He can be shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect boundaries. However, he can be comfortable with them over time.   ##1867517##

Story
Meet Pixie Stix!Pixie Stix is an adorable, 12-pound Chihuahua/Terrier mix who is almost 5 years old and as sweet as her name suggests. This happy, affectionate little girl loves nothing more than getting your attention, soaking up pets, sitting on laps, and exploring the backyard. She can be a bit reserved at first, but she warms up quickly and isn’t fearful—just a gentle soul who likes to take a moment to get to know you.In the home, Pixie Stix has excellent manners. She’s fully house trained, does ok in a crate (though she may bark at first), and is mostly quiet, but she will whine and bark when she needs something. She hasn’t had much leash experience, but she’s willing and would benefit from regular walks. In the car she wants to sit in your lap, so a crate or a way to secure her is best., She gets along with dogs of all sizes, and mostly does her own thing. Cats, however, are a little too interesting for her—she wants to play and doesn’t always pick up on their boundaries—so a cat-free home is recommended.Pixie Stix enjoys lounging, exploring the yard, and being close to her people. She still has a young dog energy and is very playful. But she also settles down once she's had enough playtime and loves her naptime. She would thrive in a home where she gets plenty of attention and companionship. Whether she’s your one-and-only or joining another friendly dog, she’ll fit right in. Her signature move is staring up at you with her irresistible puppy-dog eyes, asking for love, and she truly shines when she’s spending time with her humans. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who just wants to be loved, Pixie Stix is ready to wiggle her way into your heart.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Ritz is a 12 year, 23.6 pound, mostly black with some tan Chihuahua mix. He is a bit overweight so we are working on slimming him down at least 5 pounds, and he has already lost a couple. He has had recent blood work, a dental with a few extractions, and a cherry eye fixed so he is like a new man. He does have a grade 2 out of 6 heart murmur but is not on any medications for that. Our little guy came to us very confused and scared from a local shelter so we are going ever so slow with him to let him know he is now safe. Ritz is not a barker. He is actually quiet as a little mouse and gives gentle sweet kisses with a tail that wags with happiness. He does love to chase a ball and will bring it back to you, so cute for a little guy his age. We have not convinced him he can come up on the couch with everyone yet but we are trying to let him know that is okay in his foster home. He curls up on a dog bed on the floor or in a crate but his 2 legged people work from home so he is not crated very often. He is totally house and crate trained and sleeps through the night. He gets along with all dogs, male and female, big and small. He is such a magnificent and charming gentleman, unique as can be. Due to his age he needs to go to a home with older, respectful children. We prefer he go to a home with a yard because he loves to linger outside and 2 legged people who work from home or can take him to work with them, or retired so he is not alone. He does okay in a crate but we do not want him to live in a crate. If you can give this fabulous little man a safe and secure home with unconditional love, please fill out an application for a meet and greet. He oozes pure sweetness and joy. Ritz should have never ended up in a shelter but he crossed our path and so now we will find his furever lasting home that he is so worthy of. He literally takes your breath away.Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Ritz's adoption fee is $100.
