Story
Hi everyone! Meet Snoopy.  He is a Long Hair Chihuahua Mix. He is a 14 pound ball of energy! His perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. He is always up for an adventure in nature! He loves jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards he can relax and snuggle on the couch. He is very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, he can play fetch or tug of war with his favorite squeaker toy. he can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. Dislikes: Walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for him, and he prefers the safety of home. He is also sensitive to certain noises, and will alert with a bark. We have been working on ways to provide a relaxing outlet when there is too much going on during walks like a Citronella Collar.  This is a big reason why having my own backyard would be amazing! I like to watch over my home, so new people must allow me a chance to feel safe around them.. Once they walk through the door,  It helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. I am a nervous dog by breed or nature.  I have been trying to build a more secure peronality.  A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: No young children.  I do better with adults. A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses He can be shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect boundaries. However, he can be comfortable with them over time.   ##1867517##

Meet Buddy: the pint-sized powerhouse with the heart of a lion and the energy of a caffeinated squirrel. This Chihuahua-Pitbull mix is here to prove that big things come in tiny, fierce packages. He may be small, but when it comes to plush toys, he’s a dedicated destroyer—no squeaker is safe. When he's not flexing his muscles in a game of tug-of-war, you’ll find him zooming around the house like he’s training for the Puppy Olympics. His hobbies include chasing his own tail, stealing socks, and barking at nothing... because, you know, someone has to protect the house from invisible threats.

Story
Meet Oscar, a 7-year old chihuahua mix! He is a very sweet boy who is looking for a loving home where he can relax and enjoy life. He may be a bit nervous when he first meets you, but soon enough, he'll be climbing into your lap asking for attention. Oscar has a blast playing fetch, running in the grass, and going for walks. He also will curl up next to you to chill on the couch. A good way to earn some points with Oscar is to give him a yummy treat, like a cucumber slice or banana! He gets along with other dogs, cats, and children. Since he loves one-on-one time, he'd also be perfectly happy being the sole pet so he can soak up all the attention.

Story
Meet Enchilada: The Spicy Little Bean with a 'History'Are you looking for a dog who is 90% drama, 10% legs, and 100% committed to being your tiny, vibrating shadow? Meet Enchilada, a 6.5-pound Chihuahua mix who is living proof that 'spicy' is a personality trait, not just a flavor profile. The Legend of the Vegas OutlawEnchilada came to us from Las Vegas with a rap sheet longer than his tail. His shelter notes read like a script for an action movie: 'Aggressive,' 'Screaming,' 'Thrashing.' He basically treated his first vet exam like a high-stakes wrestling match. Since his 'retirement' (and a much-needed dental surgery), he's traded his tough-guy act for a life of luxury, though he still requires sedation for nail trims because a man has to maintain some level of mystery and menace. The Personality: Anxiety in a Tiny Trench CoatEnchilada is high-strung, anxious, and deeply suspicious of fast movements. If you approach him like a normal human, he might get defensive. But if you approach him like you're trying not to wake a sleeping dragon, he'll melt into a submissive little puddle and beg for reassurance.Pro-Tip: If you can't find him, just start petting another dog. He will manifest out of thin air to ensure no one else is getting the affection that rightfully belongs to him.The 'Spicy' Stats:The Grudge Holder: Enchilada is a selective socialite. He currently has a blood feud with his foster sister because she dared to tell him that mounting a senior Lab's leg is 'inappropriate behavior.' He will literally yell at her when she walks by. He's small, but his audacity is infinite. Enchilada would prefer other Chihuahuas in his home if other pups are present. The Vocalist: Enchilada doesn't just bark; he performs. His repertoire includes whines, wails, and intense vocalizations—especially during meal prep. Because of his 'operatic' nature, he is not a candidate for apartments or shared walls. Your neighbors would move out within the week. The Bed Guard: He isn't exactly crate trained, but he stays on a raised bed at night because he's afraid of heights. He's basically a prisoner of his own tiny stature. The Diaper King: He's mostly house-trained but wears a 'gentleman's wrap' (a diaper) at night just in case. He rarely soils it, but fashion is about safety first.Ideal Home:Enchilada is looking for a very specific kind of human—ideally a retiree or someone who works from home and understands that 6.5 pounds of dog can contain the ego of a Great Dane.No Shared Walls: Unless you want the HOA at your door.Patience: You must be okay with a dog who needs a slow 'getting to know you' phase.Other Dogs: He likes having small friends to hang out with, provided they respect his 'King of the Castle' vibes.Sense of Humor: Essential for when he starts a fight with a dog five times his size and then yells 'Come at me, bro!' from behind your ankles.Enchilada has come a long way from his outlaw days. He's now a professional snuggler, a sun-bather, and a food enthusiast who just needs a person to tell him he's a good boy (and maybe keep him away from senior Labs). Are you ready to handle the heat? Story
Meet Babydoll — 4 pounds of Chihuahua opinions wrapped in an adorable package!Babydoll is a 9-year-old Chihuahua princess who came to CAWS after her owner passed away. She's looking for a special person who understands that senior ladies sometimes need a little time, patience, and respect before they hand over their hearts. At just under 4 pounds, Babydoll is tiny, but she firmly believes she is royalty and queen of, well, everything! If she's startled or feels uncomfortable, she may express her concerns with a growl and a dramatic lunge. But it’s all for show because, like many seniors, she has very few teeth. Because of this, she'll need an experienced, patient adopter who can appreciate her boundaries and help her feel safe and secure.Babydoll would prefer to be your one and only. She's not particularly interested in sharing her kingdom with other dogs, cats, or children. Her ideal home is a calm, adult-only household where she can relax, be adored, and rule her tiny empire in peace. She would love to live with someone who works from home or is around most of the time, because being left alone is simply beneath a princess of her stature.Babydoll is housetrained and walks nicely on a leash. She is not crate trained—she prefers to oversee her kingdom from the back of the couch or a carefully constructed nest of fluffy blankets. Once you've earned her trust, Babydoll is a charming little companion who bonds deeply with her chosen person. She's proof that good things come in small packages—and that sometimes those packages come with a warning label. If you're looking for a pint-sized best friend with personality, spunk, and a face that's impossible to resist, Babydoll may just be your girl.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
