Story
Lars 505-999-8036She loves to be pet and is very calm normally. She does take a while to warm up to people. She seems to have a little trust issues probably as a result of where she was rescued from. She had since opened up a lot and is friendly but will go on guard when new people come around.

Named after the fiercest dinosaur in history, Rex the Chihuahua brings all the power - in pint- sized, snuggly form. While his namesake roared through the cretaceous, Rex conquers hearts with soft snores and cozy cuddles. Fast on his feet (especially when snacks are involved) and fearless when it comes to claiming a spot on your lap, Rex is proof that the biggest legends sometimes come in the smallest, sweetest packages.

Story
Meet Popcorn Shy sweetheart with a heart of goldPopcorn is a small, low-energy pup who’s come a long way from a rough start in life. At just 10 pounds, this 5-year-old Chihuahua is the perfect size for cozy cuddles—and cuddle he will! Rescued from an abusive situation, Popcorn has spent the past year learning to feel safe and loved, and he’s blossomed into a deeply affectionate and loyal companion.Once Popcorn decides you’re his person, he’s all in—snuggled up beside you on the couch, keeping you company while you work, or happily trotting after you during play. He’s crate trained, house trained, and perfectly content free-roaming while you’re out during the day. He stays calm when left alone and doesn’t have any separation anxiety.Popcorn currently lives with several other dogs and does well with them, though he prefers slow introductions and a bit of space at first. He also loves cats—he’d happily be best friends with a feline buddy. He’s not a high-energy pup: a short walk and a little playtime are plenty for him. He doesn’t chew or dig, only barks when someone passes by the window, and walks nicely on leash. He’s polite and easygoing with guests once he’s had a chance to warm up.Because of his rough beginnings, Popcorn was very sensitive to fast movements and unfamiliar handling when first rescued, and he did react fearfully in those early days. With gentle care, consistency, and trust-building, he hasn’t shown any concerning behaviors in over a year. He just needs a little patience to feel secure.Popcorn would do best in a quieter home with adults or older kids who understand how to give a shy dog the space and kindness he needs to open up. He doesn’t need a yard and is perfectly happy in an apartment. His favorite thing? Being close to you. If you let him, he’ll happily nap on your head just to be near. If you’re looking for a loyal little buddy who will reward your patience with deep, unconditional love, Popcorn just might be your perfect match.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Dolce – the sweet and sassy little princess who's ready to find her forever home! At 4 years old, Dolce is as sweet as her name, with a gentle and affectionate nature that will melt your heart. Whether she’s snuggling under a cozy blanket to escape the chill or enjoying belly rubs, Dolce knows how to live the good life. Though she’s got a calm demeanor, don’t let that fool you – when she’s with her dog pals, she loves to let loose with some zoomies and roughhousing, followed by a well-earned nap. She’s a confident girl who can stand her ground when needed, especially with bigger dogs, but is overall friendly and loves to be around people. Dolce is potty pad trained (and very faithful to them), but she’ll also venture outside if the weather’s just right (no cold, wind, or rain for her!).Dolce’s perfect home would be one where she’s not left alone for long stretches. She’s a loyal companion who wants to be near her humans or, ideally, have a small dog buddy to keep her company. A home with older, dog-savvy kids would be a good fit since she’s mindful of her size and has a bit of a sensitive back. This little lady has no problem showing affection – and she expects the same in return! If you’re ready for a cuddly, gentle soul who knows how to enjoy life at a slower pace, Dolce just might be the perfect match for you. Story
Meet Awesome Blossom – The Sweetest Little Snugglebug!Blossom is a tiny 9-pound bundle of love with the most stunning brindle coat and an even more beautiful heart. At just 2 years old, this little angel has come such a long way since arriving at CAWS from a breeding/hoarding situation. Once too scared to even stand up, she has truly blossomed into a sweet, snuggly, and affectionate companion who just wants to be by your side, showering you with kisses. Blossom is a quiet, well-mannered girl who would be a perfect fit for an apartment or condo with shared walls. She’d also enjoy a fenced yard where she can explore and sniff around at her own pace. She’s still learning to walk on a leash, but she’s making great strides and will continue to improve with a patient and loving family. Blossom adores everyone—humans, dogs, cats, you name it! She would love a home with another small dog or two to help guide her, as she grew up surrounded by her 29 siblings and enjoys the comfort of a furry friend. That said, she’d also be perfectly happy as the one and only, soaking up all the love and attention for herself. All she needs is a forever home where she will be cherished, spoiled, and adored for the rest of her life. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
