Story
Hi everyone! My name is Snoopy and I am a Chihuahua, Miniature Australian Shepherd mix. I'm a 14 pound ball of energy! My perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. I'm always up for an adventure in nature! I love jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards we can relax and snuggle on the couch. I'm very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, we can play fetch or tug of war with my favorite squeaker toy. We can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. I dislike walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for me and makes me prefer the safety of home. I'm also sensitive to certain noises and will alert bark. I've been wearing a remote controlled citronella collar to help when I get overwhelmed with barking. I'm protective of my home, especially with strangers. Once they walk through the door , I will bark, growl, and nip at them. What helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. Sometimes, I can be reactive towards other people or dogs while on walks, but it's mostly because I am fearful. A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: Experienced dog owners that can work with my reactivity and can get me the necessary training No young children A home located on a quiet street away from heavy traffic A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses I'm shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect my boundaries. However, I can be comfortable with them over time. ##1867517##

Lars 505-999-8036She loves to be pet and is very calm normally. She does take a while to warm up to people. She seems to have a little trust issues probably as a result of where she was rescued from. She had since opened up a lot and is friendly but will go on guard when new people come around.

Story
Meet Dolce – the sweet and sassy little princess who's ready to find her forever home! At 4 years old, Dolce is as sweet as her name, with a gentle and affectionate nature that will melt your heart. Whether she’s snuggling under a cozy blanket to escape the chill or enjoying belly rubs, Dolce knows how to live the good life. Though she’s got a calm demeanor, don’t let that fool you – when she’s with her dog pals, she loves to let loose with some zoomies and roughhousing, followed by a well-earned nap. She’s a confident girl who can stand her ground when needed, especially with bigger dogs, but is overall friendly and loves to be around people. Dolce is potty pad trained (and very faithful to them), but she’ll also venture outside if the weather’s just right (no cold, wind, or rain for her!).Dolce’s perfect home would be one where she’s not left alone for long stretches. She’s a loyal companion who wants to be near her humans or, ideally, have a small dog buddy to keep her company. A home with older, dog-savvy kids would be a good fit since she’s mindful of her size and has a bit of a sensitive back. This little lady has no problem showing affection – and she expects the same in return! If you’re ready for a cuddly, gentle soul who knows how to enjoy life at a slower pace, Dolce just might be the perfect match for you. Story
Meet Popcorn A Tiny Dog with a Big PersonalityPopcorn is a 10-pound Chihuahua with a big heart and a soft spot for cats. At first glance, you'll notice how adorable he is – but this little guy is more than just a cute face. Popcorn is looking for a patient, experienced home that understands the unique needs of a senior pup who’s had to figure life out on his own terms.Popcorn has cataracts and limited vision, so he startles easily – especially if he's woken up abruptly. For this reason, he’s not a fit for homes with children or a home that has many visitors and will need a calm, quiet environment where he can feel safe. Once he trusts you (and that might take some time – think weeks or even months), he’ll allow gentle pets and might even sneak in a snuggle on his terms. He’s very food-motivated, which helps with building trust, but he’s also protective of his meals and treats, so he must be fed separately from other pets. Popcorn loves cats and would absolutely thrive in a feline-friendly home. He’s cautious with dogs but can coexist peacefully after a respectful introduction.Popcorn isn’t a social butterfly, but he does fine when visitors come over – as long as they don’t try to engage with him directly. His ideal adopter will be someone who respects his boundaries, moves at his pace, and is okay with earning his love slowly but surely. If you’re a cat-loving human with a quiet home and a heart big enough for a little dog who just needs time and understanding, Popcorn might just be your perfect match.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Hi! I'm Lucky, and you would be very lucky indeed to have me as your forever dog.I'm an approximately one and a half year old spayed female pug, maybe? mixed with adorable cuteness.I'm completely house trained and I know how to use a dog door, and I rarely bark.I love to chase cats, so unless your cat is super confident and won't run from me, it might be best if I don't live with cats.I love to play and play and play some more. I need another dog that can keep up with me and that appreciates my rough and tumble approach to playing.I also need to live with older, dog savvy children. To meet Lucky, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Now, she’s soaking up her second chance — and she’s ready to find her forever person.Birdie is as sweet and affectionate as they come. She absolutely adores people and will nuzzle right into you for pets and attention. She loves toys and chews, and she’s a natural on the trails — the perfect size for adventures and car rides. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and easy to live with. Birdie does prefer to have her space when it comes to food and would do best as the only dog in the home.
