Story
Hi everyone! Meet Snoopy.  He is a Long Hair Chihuahua Mix. He is a 14 pound ball of energy! His perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. He is always up for an adventure in nature! He loves jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards he can relax and snuggle on the couch. He is very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, he can play fetch or tug of war with his favorite squeaker toy. he can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. Dislikes: Walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for him, and he prefers the safety of home. He is also sensitive to certain noises, and will alert with a bark. We have been working on ways to provide a relaxing outlet when there is too much going on during walks like a Citronella Collar.  This is a big reason why having my own backyard would be amazing! I like to watch over my home, so new people must allow me a chance to feel safe around them.. Once they walk through the door,  It helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. I am a nervous dog by breed or nature.  I have been trying to build a more secure peronality.  A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: No young children.  I do better with adults. A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses He can be shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect boundaries. However, he can be comfortable with them over time.   ##1867517##

Story
Meet Boe – The Tiny King of Sunshine and Siestas Boe is a five-year-old chihuahua with the heart of a gentle old soul and the nap schedule of a professional. He’s sweet as sugar, calm as a summer breeze, and happiest when he’s soaking up the sun or curled up like a cinnamon roll. This little guy lives for the outdoors—whether he’s sniffing the air like a connoisseur of fine scents or just supervising your yard work from a cozy patch of grass. And when he’s done with his royal stroll? It’s nap o’clock. Again. And again. Boe’s not one for drama. He’s more into soft blankets, quiet vibes, and maybe a nice lap if you’re offering. He’s basically your mellow best friend in a 5-pound body with ears that pick up more gossip than a neighborhood watch. Looking for a low-maintenance, high-sweetness companion who just wants sunshine and snuggles? Boe is ready to retire in style—right next to you.

Story
Meet Ollie! This 8-year-old Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix is the whole package in an 18-lb fluffy frame: a sweet companion who's always up for an adventure and a certified charmer. His signature move? Sitting up and pumping his front paws at you like he's begging. We affectionately call this his “WANT WANT WANT”, and good luck saying no! PersonalityOllie warms up to new people quickly and greets visitors and strangers. He's usually quiet around the house, but he'll let you know with a bark when it's playtime. His perfect day: a few rounds of fetch, a walk around the neighborhood, kicking a soccer ball around, and then settling in for a long belly rub session.Around the HouseOllie is fully house trained with excellent manners - no counter surfing, no accidents, no chewing, no door darting. He knows 'sit,' 'paw,' and his famous 'dance,' and his leash manners are great. He will bark a bit at passing dogs, but he doesn't pull. In the car, he's a dream: he just curls up in the seat and sleeps.Energy LevelLow to medium. Ollie is always ready for a game or a walk, but he's just as happy lounging next to you. His dream home has a fenced yard and someone who'll play soccer and fetch with him — he loves chasing a ball around. That said, a short daily walk and some toy time keep him perfectly content, and he'd do well in an apartment with someone who spends quality time with him. (Fair warning: birds who trespass in his yard will be chased out with a loud warning. He takes this job very seriously.)Gets Along WithDogs: Great — he currently lives happily with other dogsKids: Great — he came from a home with childrenCats: Not a fan — he needs a cat-free homeMedical NeedsOllie takes seizure medication three times a day (every 8 hours) — he's too small for a twice-daily dose. His condition is well managed, but his adopter needs a schedule that can accommodate consistent dosing times. Beyond that, he has no physical limitations: his eyes, ears, and legs all work great, especially when a ball is involved.Ideal HomeOllie is adaptable — he'd thrive in a house with a yard, or would do well in an apartment with regular, consistent walks. He does well with other dogs or as an only pet, and he'd be a wonderful first dog. He needs someone who can commit to his medication schedule, keep the cats away, and appreciate a little guy with a big personality and even bigger paw-pump energy. If Ollie sounds like the guy for you, please complete an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Hi there, I'm Milo! I'm a 6-month-old, 11-lb Chihuahua. I might be small, but I have a whole lot of love to give. Right now, the world feels a little big and scary to me, so I'm looking for a patient, gentle family to help me grow into the confident pup I know I can be. Once I know I'm safe, my sweet, playful side completely shines! My perfect home will have a doggy sibling for me to hang out with - I LOVE other dogs! Seeing a furry friend gets me so excited and brings out my playful side. Having a kind, confident dog in the home will help show me the ropes and build my bravery. As for the humans in the house, I have a strong preference for women and children. Currently, men make me very scared. But as for kids - yes, please! My current foster home has three young kids, and they are my best friends. I play with them all day, get super excited when they walk into the room, and shower them with kisses. I'm doing great at going potty outside! As long as you give me plenty of frequent opportunities to go out, I've got it down. Speaking of outside, I'd really like a secure yard to hang out in, as I'm a certified sun worshipper. That secure yard is important, because I am not so great on a leash. Because I'm so timid, the outside world beyond my yard is a bit too overwhelming, so I haven't wanted to go for walks yet. We can work on leash training slowly at my own pace. Please don't let my shyness deter you, my foster mom says I will 'definitely come around with time' and thinks I'm a treasure! If you'd like to meet me, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Milo's adoption fee is $300. Story
Nuggie is a 15-year-old Chihuahua with so much love to give! He’s a devoted companion who finds comfort in being close to his person, and truly thrives on that special one-on-one bond. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and brings a calm, easygoing presence to a quiet home. Nuggie will be happiest with someone who is around most of the time to help him feel safe and secure. Because of his sensitive nature, Nuggie needs an experienced, patient, adult-only home—ideally with one dedicated caregiver. He can be a bit particular about his space and handling at times, so he’ll do best with someone who understands small dogs and can read his cues, giving him the consistency and respect he needs to feel comfortable! In return, Nuggie will be a deeply loyal little companion who just wants a cozy place, a steady routine, and a person to love with his whole heart.
