Story
Hi everyone! Meet Snoopy.  He is a Long Hair Chihuahua Mix. He is a 14 pound ball of energy! His perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. He is always up for an adventure in nature! He loves jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards he can relax and snuggle on the couch. He is very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, he can play fetch or tug of war with his favorite squeaker toy. he can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. Dislikes: Walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for him, and he prefers the safety of home. He is also sensitive to certain noises, and will alert with a bark. We have been working on ways to provide a relaxing outlet when there is too much going on during walks like a Citronella Collar.  This is a big reason why having my own backyard would be amazing! I like to watch over my home, so new people must allow me a chance to feel safe around them.. Once they walk through the door,  It helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. I am a nervous dog by breed or nature.  I have been trying to build a more secure peronality.  A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: No young children.  I do better with adults. A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses He can be shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect boundaries. However, he can be comfortable with them over time.   ##1867517##

Story
Ritz is a 12-year-old, 23.6-pound Chihuahua mix with a soft coat and a heart that is somehow even softer. Since coming into our care, Ritz has already had quite the glow-up: he’s had a full veterinary workup, recent bloodwork, a dental with a few extractions, and surgery to repair a cherry eye. He’s also working on shedding a few extra pounds (and is already down a couple!), and feeling better every day. He does have a grade 2/6 heart murmur, but currently requires no medication.Despite everything he’s been through, Ritz is pure gentleness. He is not a barker—in fact, he’s as quiet as a little mouse. He shows his happiness in the sweetest ways: soft, careful kisses and a constantly wagging tail that says everything his voice doesn’t need to. He enjoys the simple joys in life, especially chasing a ball and proudly bringing it back, which is absolutely adorable coming from such a distinguished little gentleman.Ritz is still learning that the couch is allowed territory in his foster home, but he’s getting more confident each day. For now, he’s happiest curled up on a cozy dog bed or resting in his crate. He is fully house and crate trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and is rarely crated thanks to his foster family working from home.He gets along wonderfully with other dogs—big, small, male, or female—and takes social cues well. Because of his age and gentle nature, he would do best in a home with older, respectful children. A home with a yard would be ideal, as he enjoys spending time outside just taking in the world. He would also love a family where someone is home often—whether working remotely, retired, or able to bring him along for the day. While he is crate trained, he should not spend long hours confined.Ritz truly is a charming, one-of-a-kind little gentleman. He shouldn’t have ended up in a shelter, but now that he’s found his way into our care, we are determined to find him the safe, loving forever home he so deeply deserves. He has a way of quietly taking your breath away the moment you meet him.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We focus on finding the best match for each animal; applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Ritz’s adoption fee is $100. Story
Nuggie is a 15-year-old Chihuahua with so much love to give! He’s a devoted companion who finds comfort in being close to his person, and truly thrives on that special one-on-one bond. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and brings a calm, easygoing presence to a quiet home. Nuggie will be happiest with someone who is around most of the time to help him feel safe and secure. Because of his sensitive nature, Nuggie needs an experienced, patient, adult-only home—ideally with one dedicated caregiver. He can be a bit particular about his space and handling at times, so he’ll do best with someone who understands small dogs and can read his cues, giving him the consistency and respect he needs to feel comfortable! In return, Nuggie will be a deeply loyal little companion who just wants a cozy place, a steady routine, and a person to love with his whole heart.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Let me just start by saying this whole “get to know you” thing was not my idea. My name is R Weasley, but everyone calls me Harry. In other words you need to call me Harry. My enemies say I’m an adorable, teeny, tiny Chorkie, but I identify as a kind of a pocket wolf hybrid. I’m just over 1yo, and I’m one of the toughest guys you’ll meet, I spend hours in a wire prison without breaking down or complaining. Okay I’m crate trained but I’m reliable out of it too. Weighing in at  20 svelte pounds. I am the protector, wanna be alpha, lookout, and enforcer in this frankly namby panby foster home I got put into. I get along great with about 90% of my dog crew of 5. The one dog knows why…, I will stick to my primary objective (person) like glue. To be clear, this doesn’t mean I love you yet. I am very selective in my humans  and could frankly use some training to help me deal with that. I probably shouldn’t be around a lot of young kids unless they are savvy about GDS (Grumpy Dog Syndrome). At my core I’m a lovable , sweet, protective, even snuggly guy. But I still identify Alpha Wolf.  If you’re looking for your loyal sidekick who’s willing to rough up those that aren’t worthy, I’m your guy Apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 18, 2026, 3:35 pm
