Story
Hi everyone! Meet Snoopy.  He is a Long Hair Chihuahua Mix. He is a 14 pound ball of energy! His perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. He is always up for an adventure in nature! He loves jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards he can relax and snuggle on the couch. He is very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, he can play fetch or tug of war with his favorite squeaker toy. he can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. Dislikes: Walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for him, and he prefers the safety of home. He is also sensitive to certain noises, and will alert with a bark. We have been working on ways to provide a relaxing outlet when there is too much going on during walks like a Citronella Collar.  This is a big reason why having my own backyard would be amazing! I like to watch over my home, so new people must allow me a chance to feel safe around them.. Once they walk through the door,  It helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. I am a nervous dog by breed or nature.  I have been trying to build a more secure peronality.  A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: No young children.  I do better with adults. A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses He can be shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect boundaries. However, he can be comfortable with them over time.   ##1867517##

Story
Meet Popcorn A Tiny Dog with a Big PersonalityPopcorn is a 10-pound Chihuahua with a big heart and a soft spot for cats. At first glance, you'll notice how adorable he is – but this little guy is more than just a cute face. Popcorn is looking for a patient, experienced home that understands the unique needs of a senior pup who’s had to figure life out on his own terms.Popcorn has cataracts and limited vision, so he startles easily – especially if he's woken up abruptly. For this reason, he’s not a fit for homes with children or a home that has many visitors and will need a calm, quiet environment where he can feel safe. Once he trusts you (and that might take some time – think weeks or even months), he’ll allow gentle pets and might even sneak in a snuggle on his terms. He’s very food-motivated, which helps with building trust, but he’s also protective of his meals and treats, so he must be fed separately from other pets. Popcorn loves cats and would absolutely thrive in a feline-friendly home. He’s cautious with dogs but can coexist peacefully after a respectful introduction.Popcorn isn’t a social butterfly, but he does fine when visitors come over – as long as they don’t try to engage with him directly. His ideal adopter will be someone who respects his boundaries, moves at his pace, and is okay with earning his love slowly but surely. If you’re a cat-loving human with a quiet home and a heart big enough for a little dog who just needs time and understanding, Popcorn might just be your perfect match.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Prince! Prince is an 8.5-year-old, 9.6-pound red Chihuahua. This sweet boy has been through a lot but continues to show what a gentle, loving spirit he has.Prince is fully housetrained and crate trained, and he’s quiet as a mouse (you’ll hardly know he’s there!). Though a little shy at first, he’s opening up more every day, even starting to play and bounce with his foster mom. He gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and loves to give soft, gentle kisses.Prince only has a few teeth left, but he eats just fine and it doesn’t slow him down one bit. He does have a mild heart murmur and some stiffness in his back legs, but he still gets around wonderfully. He’s also on a simple routine to keep him comfortable and is slowly working on trimming a couple of extra pounds with his foster’s help.Because of his age and needs, Prince is best suited for a calm, loving home—no small children or rowdy environments. He would thrive with retired adopters, someone who works from home, or a family where he won’t be left alone for long stretches. A yard would be a bonus for him. At night, he’s happy sleeping in his open-door crate, but he’s also welcome to snuggle with his people and furry siblings.Prince is a truly special little guy—quiet, sweet, and full of love. He deserves a forever home where he can spend his golden years safe, adored, and cherished. Story
Meet Snudge – The Sweet Soul with the Long Legs and Big HeartSnudge is a 2.5-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 15 pounds. This gentle boy is on the shy and timid side, especially around new people, but once he trusts you, he blossoms into a deeply affectionate companion. Snudge loves to curl up beside his person, drape himself across a lap, or quietly nap near you. His loyalty shines every time you walk back through the door—whether you’ve been gone five minutes or all day, he’ll greet you with joy.Snudge’s favorite activities include cozy naps, cuddle sessions, tasty snacks, and the occasional burst of zoomies that will make you smile every time. He’s moderately active and would be content in either a house with a yard or an apartment, as long as he gets regular chances to stretch his very long legs.Snudge is still learning about the world and needs a patient family willing to guide him gently as he builds confidence. He does well with other dogs and would benefit from having a canine companion to show him the ropes. He’s also good with cats, though he may pester them if the other dogs in the home are doing so.This boy is smart, food-motivated, and surprisingly athletic—he’s been known to climb onto tables or counters if he thinks there’s something yummy waiting. He’s mostly house-trained with plenty of outdoor breaks and is working on his leash manners.Snudge has made incredible progress since arriving in foster care—once too scared to leave his hiding spots, he now enjoys naps on a favorite kitchen pillow and bedtime snuggles on the bed. His foster family loves how quietly he sleeps at night and how his playful zoomies light up the room.Snudge is ready for a family that will offer him patience, reassurance, and love as he continues to grow into the confident dog he’s meant to be. In return, you’ll gain a devoted, affectionate companion who will remind you every day how lucky he feels to have found you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
