Story
Harvey is a super special senior who is looking for his super special humans. At about 10 years old, Harvey is old enough to know what he likes - eating and napping! - and what he doesn't - being touched unless it's his idea. Harvey can be a nervous guy around big dogs and new people, we haven't seen him around cats and he shouldn't live with children. Harvey comes by his hesitation honestly, he likely lived a life of neglect and finally abandonment before coming to CAWS and didn't get all the love and care a dog should receive. We're dedicated to changing that now! We know Harvey's people are out there - someone who will allow him to climb onto your lap when he's ready for cuddles, and someone who won't hold his tendency to snap when he feels threatened against him. Harvey has Cushing's disease and thyroid issues, and will require lifelong medication and dedicated care. Harvey does bark, so he'd do better in a house than an apartment with shared walls. If you think you have the big heart to give Harvey the life he deserves, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Harvey's adoption fee is $100. Story
Ariel is an 8 year old female Chihuhua mix and she is the sweetest girl. She is bonded with her brother Sebastian, so the two of them are a package deal. Ariel is a tiny little thing, weighing in at 5 pounds. She likes to give kisses and either sit in your lap or right next to you. Her brother Sebastian will then spoon Ariel for a Chihuahua cuddle pile. At night she likes to sleep with her foster mom, under the covers, snuggled up to her. She is crate and house trained and gets along with dogs, kids, and cats. Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. Story
Zeus is the sweetest and snuggliest boy who loves to SMILE! Zeus enjoys other little dogs, meandering in the yard, laying in the sunshine, and chewing on his treat bones! He is a timid and nervous guy initially but once he feels safe he is loyal, loving and silly. Zeus LOVES his crate and will need access to one in his adoptive home as this is where he prefers to retreat when tired, scared, unattended and for meal times. He is also house trained and is a pretty quiet boy. He is good with cats, other dogs, and even kids. We do think older, respectful children will be best as he is uncomfortable with scary noises and fast movements. He would be happiest with another little dog to play with in his adoptive home. Zeus is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, health checked and has even recently had a dental. His adoption fee is $200. To be considered, please apply online at CAWS.orgPlease note that we carefully select adoptive homes that best meet the needs of the animals in our care and not on a first come, first serve basis. Thanks! If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationJuly 23, 2024, 6:25 am

Meet Maggie- this 12# beauty queen is ready to show you that anyone can be both beautiful and athletic! Did someone say Ball?! Watch out, this queen can also play fetch better then most and will honor and defend her sphere of fabulousness with her life. Can you throw a ball? This is a requirement for her adoption. Also treats when retrieved are appreciated. Maggie is a spry and active 6 year old Chihuahua mix of sorts, and she is great with other dogs, cats, and kids.Maggie would enjoy another small dog in her adoptive home! Maggie is house, crate and lap trained and really loves her people and dog friends. She is also great with cats and would be fine with older, respectful kids. She can be vocal when she feels the urge, so a home without shared walls would be best. She enjoys the retreat of her cozy crate when unattended, tired, scared, and to eat her twice daily meals. Maggie is fixed, vaccinated, dewormed, health checked and recently had a dental. Her adoption fee is $200. To be considered please apply online at caws.org. Story
This sweet little gal is Mama Mia; a playful, cuddly, and sweet soul. Mama Mia is a 3-year-old, 8 lb. chihuahua. She came to CAWS in February and gave birth to 4 healthy babies. After being a great mom, all of her puppies have been adopted and now it's her turn! Mia gets along with other dogs, but her favorite thing to do is snuggle up with her person. She is a pretty chill girl and loves nothing more than to cuddle up under warm blankets. We don't know much about Mia's backstory, but she is still quite shy and is working on building her confidence. She will need a patient and gentle adoptor to help her feel safe and comfortable. Small children are probably not a good fit for her forever home. Despite her initial timid demeanor, once she trusts you, she'll be yours forever. Once she is comfortable, Mia has a playful side that will provide endless smiles and joy. Mia's loving personality and gentle spirit will make her a wonderful addition to a mature household. She is crate trained and house trained too! With a little patience and a lot of love, Mia will be the best friend you've ever had!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis.
