Story
Meet Chiquita!
Hey everyone, my name is Chiquita, like the fruit company but not. My name means "little gift" in Spanish, and as a senior, and just 9 pounds, a little gift is what you will get with me! One of my favorite things is following my people around, always wanting to be near them. I was rescued from a hoarding situation, so one would typically think that I might be a bit shy or scared, but I'm really not. I love all humans, even the little one in my foster home, and though I'm fine with other dogs, I likely won't engage in play with them. I'm pretty solid on my potty training, and I walk well on a leash, so there's no need to have a fenced-in yard. I sleep in my crate at night here, which I really don't mind as I think my crate is a fine place to relax!
Now that I'm a lady of a certain age, my body is showing that I'm getting older. My teeth are just a little crummy, which happens with small dogs like me at my age, so I'm having my teeth cleaned soon, and my heart has a little murmur that shouldn't cause any concern per the vet. And then there's my floating knees, which is actually pretty normal for my breed and age, but I get around just fine! So, really, no real major concerns!
Foster mom says I'm quiet as a mouse and never make a peep, enjoy sniffing in the yard, and sleeping in soft, cushy dog beds! I'm a sweet little love bug just looking for my forever home where someone needs just a "little gift" in their life! I hope to find that home soon.
