Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Suki, a 4 year old Chiweenie was adopted from Atlanta Humane in early 2023. She loves to be rubbed and showered with attention. Fetch is her favorite activity! She knows & understands simple commands (i.e. yes, no, come here, wait, outside & treat- her favorite). She enjoys sunbathing and being outside with the family. She is also crate trained and knows it as her “bed” & is house trained. Like most dogs, Suki has great hearing and barks whenever she hears something or someone she’s unfamiliar with. She definitely lets the house know (by barking) when someone is at the door or comes to visit. She’s not a fan of baths or the vacuum cleaner. Suki was diagnosed with IVDD in late September which caused temporary paralysis. She’s recovered and is back walking. She has a little wobble when running, sometimes causing her to fall down but she’s able to get up immediately. Up-to-date with Rabies vaccine only.

He truly gets along with everyone he meets — people and other pets alike. Kofi enjoys going on walks and playing, but he’s just as happy relaxing by your side. His mild temperament and easygoing personality make him a wonderful companion for a peaceful home. Meet Irving! Sweet little Irving was surrendered to RMG when his owner found themselves in some very unfortunate circumstances and unable to care for him.   Irving was a bit timid when he first arrived at his foster home but quickly learned that Foster Mom's lap was a pretty comfy spot to curl up and decompress after all the changes he had been through. He's been great with all of the other dogs and cats in his foster home and really enjoys making new dog friends - especially the girls! Meet Sadie! Our sweet Sadie girl was so so scared and shut down when she first arrived to RMG! She was found living in a storm drain in a very rural part of Georgia. We have no idea what her previous life was like, but we know it wasn’t nice! After several months of patience and TLC from her foster mom, Sadie has learned to love and trust again - especially if you offer her a soft warm blanket to burrow in and a spot in bed next to you! Sadie is a petite little Chi mix - less than 10 lbs and around 10 yrs old. She gets along nicely with other dogs and cats, but she’s decided she prefers calm and quiet in her Golden Years so she’d do just fine as an only dog. Her dream retirement home would be in a quiet household, maybe with someone recently retired who is looking for a new best friend.
