Story
Meet Bud! Bud is a senior Collie mix with a beautiful coat and soulful eyes! This handsome boy is 55 pounds of quiet sweetness and gentle charm with endless amounts of love to give! Bud is a low-energy boy who enjoys a peaceful routine. He walks nicely on a leash, knows his basic commands, and is both house and crate trained -- making him an easy, comfortable companion for a calm home. Bud came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where he lived among nearly 150 other dogs. Because of that, he didn't get the individual attention and socialization he deserved, and he can be a little skittish when meeting new people. But underneath that initial shyness is a tender, loyal heart just waiting to bond with his person. One thing that truly brings Bud joy is playing with other dogs. He feels most comfortable around his furry friends and loves spending time with them. A home with another friendly dog and a fenced-in backyard where he can safely hang out, explore, and play would be ideal for him. Bud can also live with cats, making him a wonderful option for a multi-pet household. With patience, kindness, and consistency, Bud truly blossoms. He doesn't need much -- just someone willing to move at his pace, focus on him, and show him what it truly means to be loved. In return, he will offer unwavering loyalty and the kind of unconditional love only a grateful dog can give. Bud is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated -- ready to start his new chapter. If you'd like to be the hero this beautiful boy has been waiting for, please inquire at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or fill out an application at www.barkvilledogrescue.org. Bud has been waiting a long time for his person. Maybe that person is you! BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from his foster home.October 15, 2026, 12:03 pm

Story
Seeking a new home for Cookie, a sweet 10-year-old Collie/Corgi mix who's owner suffered a major injury and can no longer care for her.She is super sweet though can take a moment to be comfortable with new people. She is very food-motivated, which makes bonding and routines really straightforward. She'd love to have someone who is home and she can sit near all day long. Her different colored eyes and underbite are adorable. She's a good car rider, too.She likely needs to be the only pet (no dogs or cats) because she can be wary of other dogs and food aggressive with other dogs. She has lived with another dog, and they did okay as long as meals were separate and she was the alpha. She does great on a predictable potty schedule, but needs someone home often enough to keep that consistent so she doesn't have accidents. 3 outings a day minimum. She also needs regular brushing/grooming.She loves to keep her walks short and rest in the sunshine. Adoption fee negotiable - will be donated.

Story
Meet Lucy! Some dogs come into our care as strangers, but Lucy has been part of her shelter family for a long time. They’ve known this special girl her entire life, and now, at 78 lbs of love, loyalty, and fluffy Australian Shepherd/Collie charm, Lucy is looking for a place to finally call her own. Animal control first picked Lucy up when she was just a puppy. She belonged to a gentleman who has long been a familiar face in a nearby homeless camp. Over the years, whenever her owner went to jail, Lucy would stay at the shelter.  Recently, Lucy found herself in a heartbreaking situation. Her owner had been in jail for about eight months, and although kind people from the camp had been doing their best to look after her, Lucy still had no safe, permanent place to go. She had been hanging around a gas station dumpster, eating whatever she could find and following familiar faces here and there, just trying to get by. Then, one evening, an officer was heading home after a night out with his wife when he spotted a dog eating scraps spilled around the dumpster. He immediately recognized Lucy. He knew this girl, and he knew she deserved better. He walked around the area, hoping to find someone who could help. The next day, someone from the homeless camp came to the shelter, and we learned the full story. Lucy had been trying to survive on her own for months, getting by on the kindness of strangers and the familiar faces she could find. Despite all the uncertainty in her world, she was still out there, doing her best. And now, it’s time for Lucy’s story to have a happier chapter. Lucy reminds us how deeply dogs can connect with the people they know and trust. She has spent her life moving between places, relying on familiar people and waiting for things to feel safe again. What she needs now is someone who will choose her for good. We would love to see Lucy find a forever home where she can trade dumpster dinners and uncertainty for a cozy bed, a full bowl, gentle companionship, and the security of knowing she will never be left wondering where she belongs. We’re hoping someone out there will fall in love with her, too — not just for a little while, but forever. If you’re ready to give this special girl the loving, stable home she deserves, please reach out to learn more about Lucy. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Ruff Dog Rescue—Turning RUFF Starts into New Beginnings.  ##2871397##

Story
I know somebody loved this dog! Found as a stray near an apple orchard, this gorgeous brown-eyed girl knew commands, was potty trained, and walks beautifully on leash… but nobody came for her. She has proven to be a goofy, playful, super affectionate and fiercely loyal companion! Her standard greeting is to roll over for belly rubs, but if you happen to encounter a tiger or bear on your morning walk… She’s going to be in between you and that animal. She is suspected to be some type of cattle dog mix, and shows some herding drive, so she is probably not the dog for you if your household consists of toddlers, squirrels, and Chihuahuas. But she enjoys the company of dogs who don’t “skitter around!” She would love a family who wants an affectionate ride or die companion. Bonus points if you don’t mind having the side of your face, licked off! Please text 770-209-2142 or email fosterpassthrough@gmail.com for more info!
