Story
Meet Capri! Capri is a playful energetic and social 6 month old Collie/Terrier/Pit Bull mix puppy weighing in just under 25 pounds! Capri loves to be outside playing with her 4 fur-foster siblings. She can play relentlessly at times so the older dogs don't always appreciate the adorable puppy energy. Other than that, Capri has been the perfect house guest! She's crate trained and sleeps through the night, but is an excellent watchdog. She will bark to alert you if a person or another pup is approaching. She is about 80% housebroken. She will even get your attention in her crate to let you know if she needs to go! Exercise is a must for this little lady! Her foster family is working on her leash training now that she's all up to date on her vaccines! As far as new friends go, Capri is shy at first and a little skittish but NEVER aggressive in any way. Capri would make an excellent companion for just about any family or household! She can't wait to meet you! Capri is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Shelly came into the shelter as a stray, so we don't have a lot of info on her. She came in very quiet and subdued but has blossomed into a fun loving happy young girl. She loves to be out and about on leash and play in the yard. Shelly is an extremely friendly girl and hasn't met a person she didn't want to play with. We don't know if she is housebroken but her inside kennel is always perfectly clean so we would guess she is a clean lady. Due to her size we would recommend an active home with no small children. We worry that she will knock a small child over by accident. Get your application in on this lady and come meet her. She will be a great addition to any home.

Story
Just check out the eyes on this boy named Ridge!  So full of personality!  A fine 10-month-old Collie mix, he weighs 45 pounds, maturing to between 50 and 55 pounds.  With his long coat of black, white, and a hint of brown throughout, he makes quite the picture!  He’s also a pup with a fine temperament.  He loves to play with people and other dogs.  Ridge is a sweetheart who would be a great addition to your family!  (posted 4/25/23, ME) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  May 30, 2023, 9:55 pm

Story
Why not bring a little royalty into your home? Princess is a shy but friendly 1-year-old collie mix. She hasn't had a chance to make any dog friends yet while at the shelter but previously lived with a cat and had some young human friends that she loved to play with. For her, slow meets with new animals is a good idea. Get a crown ready for your own Princess - come in and meet with her, she'd love to go home with you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bella (AL) is a female Collie mix estimated to be 18 months of age at time of rescue from AL in March 2023. She weighed 26 pounds at that time. Bella is good with people and other dogs, is up to date on core vaccines, has been spayed, and is microchipped. Bella is the perfect lady with beautiful black fur, no chewing, no excessive barking, just excessive snuggles and kisses. She is also intelligent and affectionate, and her favorite pastime is being hugged and petted. Bella would love a home where her people will spend lots of time loving on her. Bella would also love a fenced in backyard or a home with people who can take her on long walks throughout the day.  This beautiful girl l ikes her crate and will quietly hang out there when needed.   Bella is smart, well-behaved and such a love.  She's good with other dogs but would do best in a home with older children who can respect boundaries. Bella is a great dog who will be a wonderfully loving addition to her forever family. If you would like Bella to be the addition to your family, please apply online to adopt Bella (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.  ********************* RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 31, 2023, 8:55 pm
