Story
Meet our "Greek God" litter of 17-week-old Collie and Shepherd mixes. The boys Apollo, Zeus, Hermes, Ares, and Poseidon, and girls Athena and Aphrodite are sweet pups who are ready to be with their new families. They weigh between 14-18 pounds now and should mature to around 50 pounds. All puppies have short and soft coats. Athena and Poseidon wear tricolor coats; Hermes wears a brown and white coat; Ares sports a white and brown coat; and Aphrodite, Zeus, and Apollo all wear black and white coats. What great temperaments they have! These pups do great playing with other dogs and don't even mind being around cats. And oh do they love toys and treats! Given a chance, these littermates will be thrilled to warm your heart! (ME, 8/4/24)**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.October 9, 2024, 6:19 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ALMA-Boy was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Alma-Boy is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 21 November 2022 and at the time of transport weighed around 35 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. Alma is such a gentle and sweet boy, he is a little wary at first, but having been through all he has leaving his rescue in Oman and traveling to the US is a huge change. After just a few days, he has settled in great, he gets excited when I go over to the kennels, will now take treats, very gently, shares a kennel with two other dogs and does great. One of his kennel mates, CHIP a young cattle dog is really helping to bring him out of his shell, teaching him to play and having him curious in the toys and chews. He sleeps snuggled up with, I feel he gets a lot of comfort with Chips typical cattle dog confidence. ALMA is thin, although being the kind of breed, a sighthound mix, he will not need to gain much more weight, but a few extra pounds would have him at a healthy weight. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Alma-Boy is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $300. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. Story
2 Year Old Rough Coated Collie Fini is a handsome boy! This 70lb dude has been settling into his foster home really well! Fini is a bright and eager pup who's been making fantastic progress in his training! He's smart, responsive, and eager to learn, making him a great companion for someone who loves an active and engaged dog. Recently, with the help of his trainer Lindsey from Dream Come True K9, Fini has been learning how to walk with better control, following his human's lead, and thriving with the proper training tools. He’s also adjusting to a new routine that includes more structured crate time, which is helping him feel secure and confident. Fini is already showing improvements in his behavior, especially on walks where he’s learning to listen and follow commands. He’s a quick learner, and with his newfound confidence, he's on the path to becoming an even better companion! With the support of the Rescue City team, training and foster mom, Fini’s future is looking bright! He's well on his way to finding his forever home, and his potential to be a loyal and loving companion is clear. If you're looking for a smart, energetic, and trainable dog, Fini could be the perfect match for you! He is fully vetted and neutered. Apply to adopt him at rescuecity.nyc/adopt, or email inquries@rescuecity.nyc with any questions! ##2129172##

Story
Meet this goofy girl Gordy! She is about 6 to 8 months old and is about 25 to 45 lbs. She is a mix of what we believe is a border collie/bull terrier mix. She was dropped in the middle of a field and left there to starve to death. She was so scared of people and did not trust us at first. She was never wanting to bite, but was for sure scared of people. We got her more comfy with being around everyone, but will need a slow introduction. She is good with other dogs and kids, but with chase a cat when it runs, not to get it, but just to play. She is working on those manners. She is a great girl and deserves all the love she can get.
